I live in North Dakota. The Theodore Roosevelt National Park actually has 4 seasons. Each one is different. This is one very good video of the Park in Autumn. The park is totally different from videos shot in the spring or summer. The yellow and the golds are vivid and the video is accompanied by soft music throughout. I would rate this one as one of the better of all that I have viewed. Length is about 45 minutes and you don’t get tired while watching. This video also takes you off the road to see some of the attractions locates a short distance from the main park road. It is beautifully done and get to listen to soft appropriately done. ThankYou John Jacobsen

I just reviewed this information via the email I had received. This is all amazing! I just love, love, love your videos and text/photos. So educational, interesting, and insightful. Oh, and by the way, the "bites" out there in the wilderness (and even in your back yard) can easily be resolved by rubbing a little bit of toothpaste on them. Believe it or not, it works and it works quickly. I always travel with a small tube of toothpaste and it absolutely works!

It's picturesque but i wonder what is the reason for there being no real forests ? Is it the soil lacks organic matter to grow them or is it the climate ? I think it's the soil still young from last glaciations hasn't accumulated enough rich organic matter, looks not deep and rocky. It's nice to see wild hoofed animals other than deer. I can see why americans loved bisons, they're a soothing presence. Very nice video and the light music is perfect for the scenery.

Thank you for your kind words. We're no experts, but our guess about the lack of trees is water. It is a much dryer climate out in the west and trees need lots of water.

Is it the same place as badlands? I was there 20 years ago😅

@BackroadBuddies Год назад
Peggy, badlands refer to a type of terrain that is found throughout the world (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badlands). In the United States, badlands can be found in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, California, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, along with North and South Dakota. There are badlands in Theordore Roosevelt National Park. However, many people use the term badlands to refer to the area in and around Badlands National Park in South Dakota. So Badlands National Park may be what you visited 20 years ago.
