Fr. Ripperger mentions praying the Act of Faith in the preceding lecture before this one; I was lucky enough to have a prayer book in my car's console which had the Act of Faith and Act of Hope in it.

Act of Faith: O my God, I firmly believe that thou art one God in three divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. I believe that thy divine Son became man and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because Thou hast revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen. Act of Hope: O my God, relying on Thy almighty power and infinite mercy and promises I hope to obtain the pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace and life everlasting through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Act of Charity: O my God, I love The above all things with my whole heart and soul because Thou art all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon from all whom I have injured. Amen.

Thank you, brilliant talk and very helpful. If you ever read this Fr, you helped me get consecrated to Mary by your talk on the Sorrowful Mother, once I started that it wasn't long before consecration. thank you, I pray for you. God bless

I like to think of it like a draw bridge with fog blocking our view: Faith tells me God is with me Hope let’s me see the other side/ end result. Love is how we get there; the action of loving God and neighbor- and knowing His love for me and our neighbor- that gets us there. I hope that’s clear. It’s late haha

He mentions performing acts of hope as a solution. But he doesn’t say specifically what those are. Acts like the works of mercy ? If so, assuming corporal? Or a simple act of kindness or small sacrifice of time,Talent or treasure ?

The Apostles healed people and cast out spirits and no one got in trouble for accepting that, it was mostly when people became over attached that it was said in terms of that that they needed to focus more specifically on God

It all comes down to our reasoning. The reason we have hope in Our Lady is not because she herself has special powers. Our hope in her is because of Jesus. All our hope is in Him.

In need of understanding...why when we pray in hail holy queen...we say our life our sweetness and our HOPE? ISN'T GOD OUR HOPE u said? Help thanks

Because Our Lord has placed the whole treasury of His grace in Mary ("Hail, full of grace"), we can hope in our Lady mediately as the dispensatrix (or Mediatrix) of all graces. We hope for the help of God's grace, she distributes those graces as God's chosen instrument. I hope that helps!

Yes, God is our source of hope. But when we see what wonders God does in others (eg. In Mary) our trust increases. When we see how she mentioned ‘They have no wine’ and Jesus performs a miracle at her instigation then our hope increases. So God has done wonders in her, so she is our hope /a sign that God can give us grace to be holy too. Jesus listens to Mary so in her we find hope that she will intercede for us too and God will bless us. God bless you!

The hope referred to is the expectation of our salvation and the beatific vision. As Bradin stated, Mary, as the mediatrix of all graces is the one who dispenses the grace of that theological virtue, but the virtue itself isn't directed at her benevolence, but in receiving what God has promised. It may help to read the Act of Hope prayer to understand. I posted it in response to Saucy Vinnie above.

Anything Mary is to us it is because Christ deposited it in her to be that to us. So yes, Christ is the Source of ALL that she is. In proclaiming Mary to be "My Life. My Sweetness. My Hope", I am infact calling Christ all those things and it makes Him very pleased because I show that I recognize what power and authority He has given His Mother. It is like going to another powerful Christian for help. Whatever help I get, I am actually getting it from Christ THROUGH that person and it pleases Christ that I have humbled myself to recognize the Spiritual Deposit He put in that person and my choice to honour Him in that person. Mary is a creature. She is a created being. Once you fully get that, 99% of what Catholics say about her makes sense! (And I speak from personal experience).
