Song of Healing from Time's End Disc 2, releasing November 22, 2016. Vocals by Adriana Figueroa, Laura Intravia, Reven and Faye Denette. Video by Ember Lab, James Beck.
RIP little bro. His favorite game. How I wish the song of healing would exist in our realm so I can play the song to to have kept him alive. He passed from a brain tumor 2 years ago. The feeling of failure I have felt for being his older brother and not have been able to help him live.
You gave him the best life on earth by being his big brother. Don’t you see, You were his world? Through this game, you gave him something to dream about. May he sleep in peace, it’s only goodbye for a little while.
YES IT WOULD NINTINDO I SWEAR PLS A MAJORAS MASK FILM PLSSSSSSSSS IM CRYING ITS SO BEAUTIFUL it's just the concept of the game that's so sad and beautiful and this song fits how truly sad this beautiful piece of a game it is
It has some of the same words, but it's not actually the exact lyrics. Here are the lyrics to Ballad of the Goddess, in phonetic form: zeldawiki.org/Ballad_of_the_Goddess
I know some people have said they don't like the speech part but I dunno despite not knowing exactly what he's saying there's something sad about it. Especially his laugh at 3:00 which just chills me, it's kind of a laugh through the sorrow and madness. Maybe that's just me though.
@@drakesmith471 "I must admit I didn't think much of the Hero of Time first time I laid eyes on 'im. He looked like a stiff breeze would blow him over. He'd been turned into a Deku Scrub--a terrible fate. That was my first impression of the kid."
Okay my translation of the Japanese 2:40-2:56: 呪いいる意思着で使っていたされる伝説の事物のなんだ。恋行った影の。おら。 It is a legendary thing that you are using with cursed will. The shadow that I fell in love with. You. I tried my best to understand what he was saying and this is what I got. Makes sense so I'm hoping it's correct! Will keep working on the rest. Edit 6/5/17 - translation from a native Japanese person: 呪い儀式で使っていたとされる、伝説の呪物なんだ This is a legendary mask used in a cursed ritual こういった仮面だ、ごらん Here it is, take a look この仮面を被ったものは邪悪ですさまじい力を得るとされる It is said the one wear the mask got an evil and enormous power それを聞いて私は、それはそれは探し回った I heard of it and then I was looking around for the mask ひたすら(山?)に上っていった I climbed the mountain? further and further And he said he found it at somewhere but his voice faded there and we can't know it
The type of song I needed to hear after my recent break-up, it was a 3-year relationship with plans for a future together, now it's all gone... and songs like this will help me to go through this loss and start again.
In true testament to Majora's Mask, recall in the closing moments of Time's End when we are sent back. Time hurls itself in reverse and everything is undone. Returning to the Dawn of The First Day, we begin once again. A new cycle in the same place, everything just as before. Except different. A new path is taken through a new version of events. New faces seen. New roads traveled. New tasks undertaken. New accomplishments made. With each cycle, inching ever closer to A New Day. The New Day is Dawning. A new album from the same musician, everything just as before. Except different.
And then it`ll start all the fuck over again with Album Three. Nyee hee hee. A cycle that never ends. As three days pass for a millenia mankind shall repeat their mistakes over and again. All clocks turns back with every passing of third night into a dawn of the first day again and again until mankind is nothing but a husk of themselves. Our fate of repeating time shall be our downfall as the moon finally falls for eternity. All of humanity doomed to a final midnight.
I don’t know why, but the Song of Healing has always been a song that has connected deeply with me on an emotional, and spiritual level. It is a song that has the most beautiful sounds for such a simplistic melody. They fill you with a feeling of melancholy, yet at the same time a sensation of hope. It is a song that holds power in the game to help those with a troubled fate to move on. To finally rest and be at peace. And the mask that is left behind is the physical embodiment showing that the individual was indeed there. You have taken a song that spiritually embodies the entire spectrum of emotions an individual feels in the game, and turned it into the perfect melody that brings that exact notion to the surface with each movement. At the start, the ticking clock is the sign of the beginning, and yet the end. As the sounds of the voice comes in, you can hear the sounds of rushing thoughts sweeping by, only to be silenced by the quiet accompaniment of the organ of n the background, and the gentle notes of the piano embody sadness. The violin sounds as if it is bringing one closer to realization. Then, the drum resounds, allowing for a clear recollection to flow in as the piano resounds louder. The voice, sounding as if mocking or even angered comes in. Only to fade away. Then the chorus comes in, and you feel a sensation of calm, and as the prominent female voice comes back in, you are overcome by the sensation of sadness. But a welcomed embrace that says you have no need to be sad anymore. And then, it reaches its high point. And tears are allowed to flow as you are made to know that you are not alone… followed by a moment of silence, and an aura of fear if that feeling you just had was a dream. Only for the voice to return and allay the very thought, encouraging you to let go of all those notions that filled you, and finally, finally be free. And as the final notes resound, you can feel as if you are removing the mask that tormented you.
Words can not describe this beauty. Theophany, you did. You have outdone yourself and every single fanmade tribute to Zelda music by others. This is simply on an entirely different level. You are playing in your own league now. I am so looking forward to the rest of the album. I salute you and your insanely talented mind and collaborators. Please, never stop making music.
Tell me about it. I'm really hoping for Great Bay Temple myself. Theophany would send me to heaven if he did all of the Temples (Well.....maybe except Snowhead.)
@Angani "MAJORA'S MASK REMIX PROJECT - 3 discs, approximately 40 tracks. - Disc 1 release date December 21, 2012." It's on his Ocremix profile. ocremix.org/community/profile/7502
Thanks so much for having me on this track, Theophany! Having heard some more of what's to come.....y'all aren't ready for how awesome this album is. This song is just a drop in the bucket. :)
@@RevenMusic You have a beautiful voice! I just listened to your Ballad of the Goddess cover and it was great! I used to listen to a lot of Rozen's music when I was playing ATLAS and doing a Zelda RP on there
I think it was "Oh, youth guided by the servant of the goddess..." en daʃeʋu, nobe̞ ʃʊndu "Unite earth and sky" tje̞ ʃʊtu "Bring light to the land" ke̞wɛnu sale̞ Well, in the original order xD
This song is just so beautiful yet sorrowful, so emotional yet depressing, and so twisted yet telling. I listened to this song as I battled these past several years with mental illness, namely Schizophrenia. This song was there to pick me up, yet at the same time remind me that my despair was far from over. The madness was around the corner, always. To me this song is comfort. This song let's you breathe from the fueling madness within us all. But at the end of the song, we are reminded that our world has yet to change, that sorrow still remains. It heals to a point, but the pain is still there. And it won't go away until one takes action. That, to me, is the essence of Majora's Mask. This is the Song of Healing in it's true form.
I've been waiting for so long. I'm gonna wait till the full disc release and then I'm gonna take an evening off to cry and draw while listening and swiming in the best childhood memories and fantasies imaginable!
Man, I know I'm late. But I found this maybe a month or so ago, give or take, and I legit cannot stop revisiting it. It's so very rare to find a song that makes you genuinely want to sit back, close your eyes, and just Listen. but holy shit, I do it every time. chilling and gorgeous beyond repair.
DragonKoal No, that's not really how I think about it. In fact I think for most songs, it's ridiculous the reversed version even gains popularity in the first place. It's more like... I'm amazed by the harmony it has with the original song of Healing despite being its reversed version.
I want to thank you Theophany, for making the wonderful music you have been making in tribute to Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. This is a game of very complicated themes, ranging from grief, terror, sorrow, and death, but your songs make an impact that, not only reflect on these themes, but the solace, hope, and salvation that Link brings to Termina. These are some of the most beautiful songs I have ever encountered, so thank you for coming to the stage.
I've been in love with Majoras Mask since I was a small child and I've literally been obsessed with this concept of the world ending or the end of time (Not that I actually want it to happen) but the thought of it is magnificently beautiful which is exactly what your music, art, work proves and shows. Your remastered music turned a magnificent beautiful game into a piece of art and beauty and filled with so much emotion. I can't fathom the excitment of the releasing of this second disk had on me. I've waited as everyone else has for a disc 2, 4 years and its finally here. I've never been so appreciative and so attracted to such music before. Thank you Theophany for bringing such beautiful work into all of our lives. I'm sure I can speak for everyone by saying that you are truly a God at making this music.
Chills.. Chills everywhere~ this captivates one of the most impactful energy in music i've ever felt. the ambience, pacing, tune, all incredible. thank you for this. truly a song that heals me
@TheophanyRemix You have no idea how much your music means to me. I used to play LoZ as a kid with someone I really cared about, someone who isn't around anymore. Your music breaths new life into the game and reminds me of a happier time. Its so beautiful, emotional, and well crafted. I'm sure you already know this, but I needed to remind you again.
this is just perfect! It drained me into another world. an eerie and spooky world with no hope and in my inner eye wooden wind chime looked like it would have been made from bones. Can't wait for the full release.
Believe in your strengths from Majora’s Mask is the PERFECT music I’ve ever heard when I was playing a game as a kid - emotional, heartfelt, encouragement, crying with tears, believing in myself, retracing my steps. Like believing in the heart of the cards from yugioh.
Those lyrics are legit pulled from the canon Ballad of the Goddess and it makes me so damn happy. That is some crazy attention to detail right there. Respect.
Just listened to the entire disk. Loved it, thank you Theophany. You are a god among men. One thing that struck me while listening to the full release: In this teaser around the 2:40 mark you could hear someone murmuring in Japanese. I felt that was odd at first. But when I saw the subsequent animated short I realized the voice belonged to the Happy Mask Salesman (who knew he was Japanese~?). So the murmuring in the teaser made a lot more sense as it depicts the HMS descending into panic and chaos as he realizes that the skull kid had taken away the Majora's Mask. So while I was listening to the full release I was joyfully anticipating hearing the HMS again, but it turns out his lines was removed from the full release (aww..) Anyway, that was just me babbling nonsense. Great work as always, Theophany. I really enjoyed the Song of Healing, Deku Palace, F'ing Odolwa Battle, and that majestic Oath to Order that totally blew me away. Thank you Theophany. I'll eagerly anticipate disk 3!
I'm so, so glad that you've found the time, especially with what you've been going through. For all of your hard work, thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
This makes me so happy, I have been waiting so long for this. Once this is fully released I'm gonna close my eyes and let the music guide me on a journey through the land of Termina, meeting those who live there, feeling their sorrow, their despair, but also their hope. Once again a mesmerizing masterpiece^^
You are an amazing arranger/composer. Mind blown to for every note and string I listen to. Well done. Probably the most emotional covers I've ever heard. well done.
Thank you so much for presenting us with this beatiful piece of art. You have my deep respect for keeping on going with this despite the hard times you had to endure.

my little brother was born 01/13/1986. Zelda was released on the nes 02/21/1986. He passed away from a brain tumor stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme on 05/20/2020. I........it hurts......it still does. As i take my 6th shot of jack daniels tonight, because my bday is coming up on the 19th of December....and his bday is coming up again on the 13th of January. I get to distance myself in age again by another year. we were 3 years apart....but now with every passing year our age gap gets wider. I held him as he passed away and took his last breathe. As tears ran down his face....I heard this song as I drove to his funeral. It rained that day....the irony.....I thought of "song of storms". The kid was speaking to me from beyond the grave. Anyway....I can not play this game anymore without thinking of him. My 7 yr old kid asks to play breathe of the wild and I say no...with no reason....I dont give him any. I last played the remake of links awakening with him before he passed. No one can play hat game. I can not continue that game. I left it exactly the way i left it when he was helping me all night playing it. Bah....I'm just pouring unto you guys my guilt...I shouldve...couldve done more... he trusted me to save him...i failed him....fuck it....I'm sorry...for being selfish all these years little bro. my 2 yr old reminds me of him....I see the same look in his eye. Like if it was him reincarnated.
Time's End was an amazing experience. I've heard covers of my favorite game OSTs before but Theophany is nothing like them. It transcends common "cover songs" by far! Can't wait for Disc 2!
For anyone asking, I figured out at 2:40, the words that the Happy Mask Salesman are saying are mostly actual lines from the game. The last two lines I'm not quite sure about, but this is how I'd translate it. "It is an accursed item from legend that is said to have been used by an ancient tribe in its hexing rituals. This is the mask... Heh, this is it.... It is said that an evil and wicked power is bestowed upon the one who wears this mask. Having heard this, I rushed without any other thought to search for the mask. It seems, though... that is quite far off."
I saw Ember Lab's video first, and this was in the recommended list. This is just as amazing as theirs. Excellent work. Please keep it up. Nintendo really needs to take notes here.
