i really like the part before Dagan dies, the way he screams "Tanallor...... IS....." Just the way he's shaking as he is doing it really shows how far he's strayed from the jedi code and just how far he'll go to get back to Tanallor
@@harriepoddah512 They made him and Reyvis look like such a force to be reckoned with at the beginning but Cal makes it look easy until the ultimate twist. Like I get why they HAD to die at that time but I just wonder why they were advertised and built as those big villains
@@harriepoddah512 Yes my thoughts too! He was such an interesting character, but unfortunately we got to see too little of him. Bode was a nice twist in the story but Daran much more interesting. This game is close to a masterpiece, if it had 2-3 hours more of campaign.
Dagan losing himself to his obsession with Tanalorr was a very interesting story arc, although I wish we could've seen the Council's decision first-hand through an old Holo-recording or the like. I feel like it could've added some relatability to Dagan Gera and his end goals, as it seems vaguely similar to how the Council acted during the Clone Wars towards Anakin which drove HIM to the Dark Side as well. Perhaps even add in a cameo of Master Yoda and/or Master Yaddle in the Holo-vid as well since their species can survive for centuries on end. It would've been an amazing way to show for just how long the Jedi Order had been losing its way and feels kinda like a missed opportunity to hammer home the idea that the Jedi were losing their way for some time. Plus Cal seeing something like that could've been a perfect segway into questioning if Dagan was actually right in his revenge quest.
Honestly I was looking forward to a situation where Dagan has a match with Vader and when he says something like “blinded by the past”, Vader goes insane and kills him brutally thinking of Padme.
in your dreams, Dagan wasn't blinded... LITERALLY every loser Jedi kept trying to stop him, its pathetic. His vision is the same as Cal's but Cal is TRULY blinded by the past. Thats the whole story to Jedi Survivor.
I love how Dagan sees what Cal's lightsaber can do in the first battle and then decides copy it and uses double/dual lightsabers in his second and third battles.
seems Mr theory forgets how much stronger and Intune the jedi were in the force during the high republic time his faces of shock and disbelief are priceless
I get the feeling Tanallor has some kind of mental effect on people. Dagans obsession was really unusual, like he was already arrogant; that was established in the first vision. But his obsession was utterly insane and irrational.
Theory, you’ll never believe me but I was writing a Star Wars short story for myself about a powerful Jedi and in it there’s a bit where he inverts gravity and fights on the ceiling. I thought it was badass and no one had ever done it before. And then I played this game and literally screamed with joy when Dagen did it! This game was so good. 4:14
It's really a crime they didn't let Vader kill dagan. I have a hard time believing Vader wouldn't hear about a "jedi" from the high republic appearing, especially with the imps he fought. The fight could start between cal and dagan, then Vader shows up, slaughters dagan and gets out. Really cool character, feel like they wasted him.
Probably because most of us are tired of people feeling the need to insert Vader into every story. We know he exists. We know he's a badass. But the Galaxy is MASSIVE! Vader constantly showing up everywhere shrinks the scope of Star Wars.
Also would’ve caught Dagan in his tracks with all the talk of how “unworthy” Cal and other Jedi were to fall to the Empire. Seeing Vader would’ve made Dagan realize how wrong he was
@@sirmarshall9521 yeah I generally agree but I'd rather have Vader vs dagan than Vader vs cere. Thought that appearance was rather weak. If anything is going to catch Palpatine or vaders attention it's going to be a high republic jedi turned sith annihilating imperial forces. Either way it could always have been worse
Vader is EXTREMELY boring. He is literally everywhere, he has plotarmor, and he ruins every original story in favour of hype. And honestly, if someone would be really fucked up by Dagan's mindpower bullshit he used here, its him, he was a mental trainwreck long before he fully fell to the darkside, and he is too arrogant to fight back smartly like Cal did. I think Dagan would absolutely fuck him up. But even if Vader wins, who cares, he shows up, kills people and leaves, and it gets very boring. Original characters without plotarmor and undetermined fates are far better.
Ha! No! I found the rift in the force with the double rancor, but I gave up on the one rancor in the cave that I had found, so I didn't even really try it. It straight up one shotted me every time.
Dagan was quite easy on jedi master. He isn't that aggressive and the parry/dodge timing is a lot more forgiving than expected. You get plenty of time to heal too. Now Rayvis, in his second phase is a pain because of his ridiculous aggressiveness and ridiculous amount of stamina he seems to have, timing & reading his unblockables is much harder too.
Dagan is a Jedi Master from the Order’s peak of power, now boosted with the power of the Darkside. Even if he doesn’t beat Vader, he’ll definitely make Vader work for a win.
He probably is his equal. The way they talk about him, he was not just any jedi master in the high republic era either, he was considered a champion (not unlike Anakin). I would even say he would win, he has powers against the minds and feelings of people, Vader is very vulnerable there, and probably would not think about beating Dagan like this. He usually just crashes directly into problems.
I mean to be fair I’m not sure who would win Dagan or Vader because In this game Vader is in his 30s and he’s still young and still has uncontrollable rage so my guess Vader would win but probably would be battle damaged severely
Honestly, I get/got sick and tired of all these so-called “5 year jumps” between content/material. It’s said this game is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, which puts it in-line with the “Kenobi” show (if you consider that canon). Well, looking at it in the grand scheme of things.. It makes far more sense for JEDI: Fallen Order to be set between 8-12 months after Revenge of the Sith and then for JEDI: Survivor to be the one set 5 years after Revenge of the Sith. So there’s maybe around 4 years’ish between Fallen Order and Survivor. It just makes a lot more sense.. than this whole “Kennedyfilm” thinking that everyone’s dumb and shit needs to be simplified, so we’ll just say 5 years and 10 years between any content material that’s a continuation.. That’s how I look at it, anyway. I see JEDI Survivor as being 5 years after Revenge of the Sith. So that’d put Vader/Anakin into his mid to late’ish 20’s.
