The Force Theme at the end was just beautiful. I don't remember hearing it throughout the game, but if this is the only time, I'm glad Respawn kept it to one specific scene. Made it much more special
People complaining about the ending of the second chapter in a trilogy... what more are you expecting? Tit's and fireworks? The ending was solemn because of all that was lost and and how opposing the future is, while having the exact path towards a future for them if they can protect it. Not mocking your opinions, I just don't understand what you would have wanted.
It was ok ending for me attleast but maybe something more dark or breath taking like in first one with vader or something to do with cal's hatred couse i loved those embrace the darkness moments🤌
Exactly. I had a couple of friends complain about the ending and I had to try and explain to them that it isn't supposed to be an "ending" - it's similar to an Empire Strikes Back moment where its more of a stepping off point. I feel like the final game is going to focus heavily on Cal's struggle with the Dark Side, along with his work with the Hidden Path. It's possible that we could get a bigger timeskip to post-Empire too, which I think would be a neat area to visit, as its only 9 years after the end of this game
@@meandmyinsanity y thats so cool that there will be third game couse the first one was sick and second was allmost perfect and for me im more of a sith person but still this game was so much fun on hardest difficulty and i have still 40% of throphies to do👌
At least way better ending than TLOU2 if you asked me. I was watching this and reading your comment with that worry in my mind, but didn't actually ended up upsetting me. It's an ok solemn ending, but not a terrible one.
I thought the game was fantastic. I loved the first game and this was on the same level if not better. It’s a pretty sad ending and definitely darker than the first game, but it’s pretty clear to me that they’re at least planning one more game. Just like how ESB ended in defeat, this game did too. Assuming it’s a trilogy, the next game will be more of a victory. I honestly think Cal is one of the best Jedi we’ve seen from a character perspective. Easy 10/10 for me.
It always makes me sad when people act satisfied or cocky after Cal finishes Bode. It was like a knife in my gut when I saw it. Cal's heart was clearly torn in two when he finally pulled the trigger.
I didnt play fallen order till maybe 8 months ago so it wasnt as bad for me inbetween the 2 actually perfect, i did like it but couldnt bring myself to buy it, now beating survivor i cant escape the thought of a 3-4 year wait, it doesnt feel good
I’m thinking the same thing the entire time I was playing it. This game was just a video game it was EXPERIENCE that Star Wars fans need to have. Felt like a movie from beginning to end
This game definitely embraced the idea of Cal being a Grey Jedi, and it resulted in some otherwise unexpected decisions by him during the story. I hope they keep the idea of being a Grey Jedi for the third game.
I think there's a strong possibility that Greez will die in the next one, will cal going full darkside. Then either Merrin or Kata will somehow bring Cal back from the edge and be a pure Jedi again. I just can't see Respawn dropping the darkside angle in the next one, especially after what was established in this one.
The end is neat, the symbol of time passing and how we can get caught up in moments. Yet they’re all important to our character and experiences that makes us.
Feels like they're setting up the 3rd game to be Cal training Kata as his padawan. Or at least that is where it will lead to considering Survivor takes place 9 BBY(Before Battle of Yavin for those unaware). So in a third game I imagine we'll get another 4 to 5 year time jump, maybe more.
To be honest, I wished Tanalorr was a place out of time, or where time doesn’t flow the same, so that Cal and Kata could pop up during and post first order rising
people want cal to train kata and i know cere’s ghost or whatever it was told him to basically do so but at the same time i think she’ll hold some kind of anger towards cal for killing her father, we’ll see.
She would reasonably hold some kind of resentment, but I don't think it'll be towards Cal. She saw what was happening, that Cal tried to reason with him and talk him down at every turn. She'll likely put her resentment on the Empire.
The only thing is didn't like about the game is the missing features New Game+. We really don't get to enjoy the dark side power till the end of the game. It should be a feature that should be available if you equip the red lightsaber crystal
Just the imperial expansion, the map you get from the senator at the beginning shows that the empire is putting a presence on nearly every world, and koboh just took a while bc it’s a rim world
I am wondering if we could freely explore the upper levels of Khorsand end, the Jedi temple now known as the imperial palace, and possibly sea a Hidden cut scene or something of that nature where Darth Vader an emperor, Palpatine, or speaking about the destruction of the Jedi, pass the death of master Eno, Cordova, and sierra Judah
The ending and Bode's reasoning are basically what I expected. An ESB ending as a dropping off point, with no way to know where the future of our party goes. That is what this ending was. As for Bode. He wanted to only have Cal and his (Bode's) family be the only ones to use Tanalorr. Suffice to say, Cal thought otherwise because he knew the Empire would almost, or take years, to reach Tanalorr. And, with Tanalorr not having, or probably having nothing to sustain a way to keep a small family alive on that planet, it'd most likely end up in failure. But, honestly, the ending leaves one with more to understand that it has to stay within the continuity for BBY and ABY. Regardless, my idea is that we're gonna be either within the same continuty as Rogue One.
What’s really sad when you think about it is that five current /former Jedi survivors died in this game. And only one of them was actually killed by a Sith. All the rest were killed by other Jedi. Even in the brink, the still continued to tear each other apart.
When Cal says they’ll continue on Cere’s legacy, I hope the next installment will bring Cal to him supplying the archives where Luke is in hiding on Ahch-To. That would be a neat pull in for him.
You know this game takes place 9 years before a new hope, right? Cal's gonna be OLD by the time Luke's moving to Ahch-To and I doubt they'll do a time jump that goes beyond Empire Strikes Back at most.
All good and they caught me off guard that so much people were still alive at the end. I expected a push to the dark side at the end forced by the death of the koboh villagers by the empire when you return from the bode chase
I liked the game, i just wish bodes motivations were better explained. If you think about it his motives are good, bit it needed to be better shown in game.
The thing I didn't like about the ending is, it didn't make sense to me why Bode couldn't allow the hidden path to join them on tanalorr. I don't understand how the empire would find them because of this
That's the only gripe I had. I get why he would be hesitant to want people being actively hunted by the empire being brought to live near his daughter, but at the same time he literally had her live on a fking imperial base.
@@willywonka111 I believe it might be the influence of the hidden path that would've affected her, or the fact that most rebels are quite literally just criminals. Sure, rebels are reformists who want to take back power for the people, but many of them are criminals that take the opportunity of an anti-empire party in order to commit more crimes. that's why many of the empire troops are spiteful and hateful against rebels, it is also why Bode did not want them near his daughter; he did not want criminals near his daughter.
Only justification I can find is that he saw sharing it with other people as a needless risk. Each time someone is brought to Tanalor, another potential opportunity for the Empire to use that person to find Tanalorr and attack somehow.
Bode first hand infiltrated Cal's rebel cell and the Hidden Path by extension with ease. He pretty clearly saw the vulnerability this group had. Of course he would want it to stay a secret.
Bode worked intel, he clearly had a better idea on how the Empire can track them down, the more people involved the more likely the Empire will be able to do so. It wasn't that hard to understand.
2:55 does anyone know this songs name by any chance? I've been trying to look it up and been finding every other song John Williams composed but this one. Reason I'm asking is because I'm making a list of songs from Star Wars I want to learn how to play on the piano. This song was also used in the video game version of Revenge of the Sith (Obi-wans theme) if it helps.
This was a Beautiful Ending to an Absolute Masterpiece of A Game!!! R.I.P. Bode, Cere and Cordova. I LOVE THIS GAME SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Jedi Fallen Order was Great, But This Game is on Another Level!!! Cal Kestis is One of My Favorite Jedi Ever and One of My Favorite Characters In All Of Star Wars and I Just Love These Games So Much!!! 10/10!!!!!!
The next game must be after episode 6 the game meaning survivor the empire the is 9 years bevor yavin and 4 years bevor rebels it wouldn't make sense to cal jump another 5 years at cal.
Bro I am never going to trust any character in a game again after the tyr, which I new was sus and disappointing not to fight a really good twist. Now bode who didn’t show any signs of sus only after we killed Dagan Gera.
The planet they found hidden in the nebula that wasn’t the dark side planet in rise to Skywalker ? So we don’t know what happened to Kals Jedi order civilization if anyone took part in the rebellion or they even knew of it. ? Did Luke ever find it or mention it ?
I dont think so, kata is tan skinned and dark haired like bode, the girl in ahsoka is white with white or bleached hair. Most likely they'll do something with kata in the potential third game
@@zachcoles4296 the skin there’s definitely a difference, the hair is actually what made it pop into my mind tho. They have a similar hair style just different colours which obviously is an easy change
Playing this was a fun experience I milked the hell out of this game though to basically bide my time for D4 still 2 weeks short of launch I understand the timeline and why they wrote the script the way they did but the ending 100% made me feel the same way I felt after watching Empire Strikes Back the first time kinda empty and wanting more but that’s the Beauty of the Star Wars Universe there will always be more to be told
I didn’t really like Bode as a final boss I was really expecting Dagan to be it, I mean a corrupted Jedi from the High Republic battling in the world he worked so hard to get to is better than Bode in my opinion
ya gotta think though, Bode is more relevant to Cal's story and the emotional journey of the piece because he's his friend and a traitor. Better to have Dagan's fight first to get the spectacle out of the way in a fun manner so we can focus on Bode's betrayal as the climax. Story should come first. Dagan's really just some freak ass Cal accidentally let out of a cage, Bode is a whole ass Judas.
@@MrInsaneA I know Bode is more relevant to the story to Dagan, I just did not like Bode as a character. His motivation to only keep his daughter safe would have meant leaving them alone in a foreign world. His daughter would have no friends or other people to talk since Bode didn’t want anyone to join them. I know the dark side was negatively affecting him but I just couldn’t understand him
Yea but we got that. So why are you complaining. The bode twist was good I just wish bide tried harder to convince cal with a better reason. But that doesn’t ruin the game at all imo.
This little girl barely cared that her dad died, and now she is BFFs with his killers? I just don’t buy the ending at all. And Greez just so happens to be on the planet that all this High Republic stuff is going down? Really odd writing for this game.
i NEVER expected bode to be the final boss. I kinda wish we fought dagen as the final boss and fought bode earlier but this game has a fantastic story. I hope cal and meren have a kid in the next one
Couldn’t tell if the little kids was a boy or girl till they stated it. Idk just weirded out a little by the graphics and weird bugs in the cut scenes .
I've not seen any of the criticism online but the ending struck me as a bit strange. You've just murdered Bode in front of his kid, but she's ok with that and just goes with the guy who did it with no questions asked, no worries, he'll look after her now 😂 The storytelling was decent up until that point, it was a rushed ending that didn't really make sense.
it's actually a really good story, but it's a pity that it has no relevance for the rest of the star wars story and the final boss wasn't a well-known character. It was a pretty cool plot twist and cool story but a way to easy and quick end with no consequences.
This is such a braindead take No consequences??? The consequences in this game is foreshadowing to the consequences in the next installment, cal turning to the dark side or even dying. I really dislike people who dont have a basic grasp at intent behind writing important plot points in stories.
Nah in the secret ending Cal destroys Vader and finds the death star and brings the whole empire into collapse leading to a new Jedi order, and then Cal becomes the chosen one
People said the exact same thing about Fallen Order. The whole point of the story is to secure Tanalorr which is exactly what happens. The character writing and dialogue is much better in this game than the first. This sort of ending is normal for the second part of a trilogy. Just like in Empire Strikes Back, our heroes are left with a melancholic ending that sets up part 3.
I think the game suffers from a lack of story direction and structure. The main story felt like a side story, with so much potential for Dagas character, why kill him so soon? Because to me it was cut short. The story should have focused on that instead of adding many twists that made the story convoluted, vader, Bodes betrayal, bode is a jedi, you fight bode in the end. Sorry I have to say this too but, Cal lacks the quality of being the main character. cocky, and lacks expression and motivation.
