When Ren is interrupted playing the piano, I see that as him moving through life unawakened to the money game. He is interrupted, and it jolts him into awareness of his surroundings, leading to him looking in the mirror, and he removes the money bag. Very functional for the song so he can move through the room but also perfectly symbolic.

Thank you. That's so interesting to know. Grieg wrote incidental music for Peer Gynt and that's what struck me about the music of Money Game 3. It's not a song in the traditional sense. There's no overriding melody. It's more a series of connecting pieces that tie the story together. Loving it more and more 👏😁✨️

Amusingly, Ren said on Twitch that he didn't really know how to fold the suit jacket properly because he's never really worn a suit. He's currently wealthier than he has ever been, but he's just given away thousands of pounds to people playing a game, to Joe's family, and to charity, gave all of his best friends and new reactor friends time to shine in the spotlight, and is uncomfortable with many of the 'trappings' of success at an individual level. Really interesting to see him trying to navigate this particular tool.

He actually used the hummed melody of the chorus twice, once humming it again in the beginning, and again played by the violin, but the underlying harmonies were completely changed. That’s genius musicality! Your reaction, as always, genius as well!

I'm glad you mentioned the part about his dad's approval, I think most reactors missed it. To me its unclear whether Jimmy really cared about money at all. Other than his age 1 phrase (mine mine gimme) it seemed to me it was mostly about trying to get love and approval from his parent. He broke down immediately after he realized he can't get it anymore. He did continue to walk in the same direction for a while by intertia but it was very different from his focus before. This is what got me the most emotionally. It signifies that we, as humans, no matter how broken on the surface, underneath it all its still all about family, community and love. We just keep distorting it somehow. Maybe that's why Ren thinks the solution is in teaching - us learning, in school, what REALLY drives us, what we're about when you remove all the inventions we've made to distort it. Not really to mould our behavior with education - just to understand ourselves.

This is performance art at it’s finest. Ren is an artist the likes of which we’ve never seen before. More than a musician. More than a poet. His work too diverse to classify as any one genre or style. I have referred to him as a genius before and I stand by it. With every piece that he releases he proves it over and over again. Challenging us, not only musically, but emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. He shows us all how to be better human beings. Not only that but through all this he remains humble. Incredible! 👌🏻🐷💸

I live my life contrary to that of my siblings. There is no need for them to understand. I do not explain. They accumulate debt and believe it equals wealth. I have 1 utility bill. No mortgage. No credit cards. I live on a tiny fixed income. I have no savings. Yet I have raised 3 children and sent them off into the world. They are who They have chosen to be. I feed and shelter teens when they land on my doorstep. I watch and I listen and offer advice without expectation any will learn from it. I keep in mind that there is always Enough money for today.

In the last segment...The front left violinist didn't play because the rain accidentally landed on her and made her bow wet. Smart. The rain scene had to be done only once, they only had the room for one day and didn't have a second suit for Ren so couldn't do a second take as everything would be too wet. They had to buy the violinist a new bow afterwards.

REN’s message is that we need to shift our mindset. We need to break the cycle of being educated, getting good grades, getting a good job, raising our kids to do the same and repeating the cycle. Our obsession with wealth and the ‘power’ it brings is a fallacy. No matter how much we own, it’s never enough. We need to start to value friendship, community and love as true wealth. The only time we should be looking down on anyone is to help them up. We have enough to take care of each other. We need to value our mental health over our material wealth. Bring on the renvolution!

He may not have used the chorus from part 1 & 2, but it was there symbolically with the mirror in the beginning and the rain at the end - “Oh, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, a storm, it comes our way; And those who rise through distorted lies, poison in the veins. I love that he made Jimmy an American, pointed out how important 45 was to him in the end, but didn't explicitly point out another instance of 45 that obviously fits into this story's narrative. For me it’s a character driven visual representation of the chorus in the ‘Money Game’.

Hope: “I’m the voice you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope…”. This return line from “Hi, Ren” is important. In the beginning of the video, Ren (Jimmy) loosens the noose from the “money bag” around his head. Similar bags were used when people were hanged so that the audience/executioners did not have to see the physical, human reaction to their death. Facing the truth of death, struggle, and, ultimately, being guilty of whichever crime someone is guilty of, is important. Ren’s tale of Jimmy is one of revelation and of hope. It is one of self-realization and regret. But also, it is one of warning to the future; a chance at something better if people would just “heed this word to the wise”. Brilliant!

As an aside - nice touch with the Welsh flag on the video thumbnail. Diolch yn fawr! In an interview with BBC Wales a couple of days ago Ren talked about the Welsh tradition of music and storytelling he comes from. He truly is a bard in the fullest sense of the word.

Such a great reaction to the video. Raising the questions that how we play the money game. How we all need to teach future generations as to how to live. ‘Mould will grow on a surface and consume til it dies’ That’s how I see humans destroying our planet. We need a renvolution!

None of us really have a choice but to partake in the money game. We cannot just find some little bit of land, build a shelter and grow our veg, rear some animals... Someone owns the land or there is a tax to be paid. At least in the UK that is true! Every ounce of land is owned! I would have loved to live a natural life. I am under no illusion as to how tough it would be but we do NOT get that option because of the money game...

It's not just Ren's creativity - it is his vision and courage in having the guts to deliver such powerful and contentious messages. The saddest thing is that his analysis is correct! We are parasites of our own planet, and of each other. Great reaction Rosalie, as ever.

The singing in the beginning reminded me of the tale of Violet? The story made me think of someone who's name rhymes with gill Bates?

Unfortunately, the game has been around for a long time... and will last for eons to come. Fortunately, there are those who put their finger on the wound. It is necessary not to desensitize and not lose the ability to feel the pain that this sh... game causes and, for that, thank you very much Ren. Good video! And good reaction from you... thanks! P.S. I'd like to come back here in about 2-3 eons to see if we're still wallowing in this shitty little game!...

Imagine having this artistic and visual masterpiece, and instead of taking it all in and focus on all these beautiful details, you stare down in your notebook and miss so much of the visual story.

The first vocal part comes from Violet's Tale to signal that this is a generational issue too, The drive to please his father produces a life with no meaning to himself, and he dies at age of the "midlife crisis" when so many people realize that "this isn't what I really wanted" "You can never get enough of what you don't really need"".

I would really recommend starting with Money game Pt 1, Pt2, before Pt3 Ren has made a masterpiece in the three, and show the progressively worsening around the world, and calling out not just individuals, but world leaders and news media. Have really enjoyed the journey that both You @Rosalie and Ren have taken me on since finding Hi Ren, and investigating Ren, you and others. It is such a amazing story and feeling.
