That use of therapeutic mirroring: the therapist establishes rapport by getting less professional and more like what would make the client comfortable. Also doesn't react to a threatening client.

The algorithm has blessed me with this, and I do mean BLESSED. This is a beautiful episode, and the second one was even better! I'll be eagerly awaiting the next!

I got recommended the second session, never saw the first one before. The idea of turning your own intrusive thoughts into animated therapy session is one of the coolest concepts I have ever saw, and it feels really healthy too. Sometimes writing, or saying out loud your thoughts can make you see them in different perspective, so, I imagine turning them into a whole therapy conversation can be really refreshing. I love the artstyle as well, especially the therapist glasses making him transparent!

Things that caught my eye about this animation:

Nice artistic work and good demonstration of what a therapist should be like, however I want to clarify that "intrusive thoughts" are not the same as violent impulses. They are a common symptom of OCD and other anxiety disorders where unwanted images pop into people's heads. If it is images about themself doing something bad, it's usually the last thing they desire to do. Intrusive thoughts are sometimes called obsessions and a compulsion to deal with them can include social isolation in fear of things going wrong, but they are quite different (as someone who personally struggles with them) from violent tendencies or even a desire to do those things. Having violent tendencies does not make someone a bad person and I don't want to be picky, but those tendencies and intrusive thoughts are separate

If the avoidant attachment personality was a person, you’ve encapsulated this perfectly. Coming from a psych major, this is so impressive and you made the therapist so real.

I love this, but I hate that my first thought was "Damn, now I can only bill insurance for one unit. Time for case management, I guess."
