SubhanAllah! Islam has a well versed intellectuals in every field or rather I shall say weapons in every front. This Shaykh is well versed in theology and western philosophy together with great overall knowledge in Islamic Studies(Qur'an, history, hadith...). Really he can be a great defense for Islam in a segment of it's own. Even if it's a little difficult to comprehend his lectures for me I really believe in him that he can can be a good asset for Islam. May The All-Mighty Allah greatly bless him with a beneficial and effective knowledge that benefits Islam! Ameen.

Yeah, and those are all scribal errors, they do not affect the transmission that the very best friend of the Prophet Muhammad (Abu Bakr r.a) and the companion who the Prophet Muhammad himself unequivocally acknowledged contributed to. All these strong eyewitnesses, close to the Prophet than any other men contributed to the compilation of the Quran. The 4 anonymous gospels that disagree with each other stand no chance at all ever even if they were to go back in time and attribute these books to the historical Jesus.
I really like Dr. Ali Ataie. I don’t know why he calls the Prophet “master” though. He must have heard of this narration: Abdullah ibn Shikhir reported: I proceeded with the delegation of the tribe of ‘Amir to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. This is not a problem. This particular Hadith you sited has a purpose in that particular situation which is out of humility. We can totally say سيدنا because of a Hadith that says أنا سيد ولد آدم يوم القيامة ولا فخر There's also total (Ijma' = general consensus) of muslim scholars through history that it is proper to call him, pbuh, سيدنا
Brother Jonaid, Allah the Mighty and Majestic Himself has described the Prophet Yahya as Sayyid in the Quran. Furthermore our master the Beloved Prophet peace be upon him has told us in the Sahih hadith " Ana sayyidu walad Adam wa la fakhr..." "I am the master of the children of Adam and it is no boast...". Also, he told us that his two beloved grandsons Hasan and Husayn peace be upon them are the sayyidaa shabab ahl al jannah 'The masters/ leaders of the youths of the people of the Garden". I could go on and on when really the onus is on you to bring forward your reason(s) for being uncomfortable with the Prophet peace be upon him being described as ' master'
Good 25 minutes. What I think you should consider is working on a simple document highlighting some of the commentary that has been provided by other American Academics - who are using the "chip on the shoulder" (as u mentioned in your video) to bully their way into questioning the Quran and leveraging their Ivy League backgrounds to dictate the push. One of them cannot even cite references correctly and some how got a PhD and now sits around with clowns like AP to get his Ivy League ego stroked and then creates PPT presentations - its not clear at all whom he is presenting. I have never seen either of them ever debate or speak to scholars on the subjects they are touting over the last 2 years and I highly doubt they had any credible scholars on their dissertation committees - the lack of transparency does not help and nor do any of the folks interviewing them ask them...Hey buddy how the hell did you get a PhD? American Academia has been corrupted for years - Academics will publish based on the funding they receive - due to the impact of some of their comments these guys should be transparent on who pays them to publish. Especially Social Sciences/Humanities/Theology etc are driven by funding which drives research topics - driven by political agendas or any other agenda. Anyway good to watch your 25 mins and certainly hope you can expand the discussion in future - I personally only came across a lot of this last couple of days. Thanks.
Mass transmission is only applicable after Othman has compile the quran but not before that. There must be a serious problem in the transmission that make Othman decided to compile and then burn all others.
