Attacks from the Taliban continue to terrorise Afghanistan a decade after the invasion. With the US withdrawal scheduled for 2014, what hope is there after 10 years of Operation Enduring Freedom?
Operation Enduring Freedom was meant to drive the Taliban out of Afghanistan for good, but recently they've been just as deadly as ever. Their killing of high profile Afghans, like Former President Bahruniddin Rabbani, has rocked the nation and, in doing so, shattered both its peace process and its policy of 'talking' with the Taliban. "By killing a leader they have crossed the line", says Governor Mohammad Ata Nur. Rabbani's killing marks a turning point for this battered nation. Talking peace with terrorists has taken the country even closer to the edge. Former Taliban minister Wakil Ahmed Mutta Wakil argues the frustrations of his people are clear. Major-General Atta, Dr Abdullah and others, they insist on one point, that we have to fight forever. But Afghans do not support this idea. "They are tired after 30 years of war".

The Taliban fighters fight only a few kilometres from their homes. Most of them anyway and why do you think they were not completely wiped out after nearly decades of US operations because they are basically the Afghans themselves.

You do realise Pakistan was directly responsible for creating TALIBAN, ever heard of Hamid Gul who is called "Father of Taliban", he was the ISI Chief and even till his death he supported Taliban, Pakistan was also the first country to recognize the Taliban when they took over Kabul If you can't see that the reason Afghanistan is in such a shit state is because of Pakistan then you're an extreme idiot. Pakistan didn't take afghan refugees for free btw, they received AID for free from the west worth billions of dollars every year, and most of those refugees were taliban fighters who were still being trained in places like Lal Masjid(this mosque was created for the sole purpose of training extremists, look it up)

Pure gobbles of a one sided documentary. I am surprised how would such a reputable network allow it to be published without critical analysis. They even portrayed the prisoner as a pakistani who is clearly an Afghan. I know it because he clearly spoke my dialect of Pashto. Pakistanis can not speak pure Pashto no matter which part of pakistan they come from. Their Pashto is contaminated with urdu and english vocabulary. The reporter herself speaks the dialect of a tiny tiny minority which clearly anti Taliban. I will be surprised if anyone who knows anything about Afghanistan would take her seriously.

The Taliban's been doing the same years before the US even planned to invade them, you fucking idiot. They've been condemned by the UN. Even countries like S.A disowned the Taliban eventually. The Taliban were always brutal extremists. During their rule from 1996 to 2001, the Taliban and their allies committed massacres against Afghan civilians, denied UN food supplies to 160,000 starving civilians and conducted a policy of scorched earth, burning vast areas of fertile land and destroying tens of thousands of homes. According to the United Nations, the Taliban and their allies were responsible for 76% of Afghan civilian casualties in 2010, 80% in 2011, and 80% in 2012 How uneducated are you??? Some people will claim that the Quran doesn't permit this or that type of killing. But the fact is, it is clearly capable of being interpreted this way - because this has been going on for 1400 years. I am not an Islamic scholar, I'm just observing what I see. This reporter, having grown up in Australia, is clearly distressed to see that these fanatics are interpreting the Quran to justify their actions. I think she needs to read "Mohammed's Quran" by Tommy Robinson with an open mind and form her own view. Another tragic fact is that these Pashtuns were once peaceful Buddhists who wouldn't harm anything. Their conversion to Islam has clearly introduced an element of brutality theologically absent in Buddhism. This is very disturbing.
