everyone watch taco tarantino’s take on this lake. they explain it perfectly with personal stories from their family that were alive at the time, really fascinating and she’s funny asl
Candice carrasco I just read it was a black town and whites came and flood that shit to get the blacks out since it was a thriving time So their spirits are under that water getting revenge
Miss Asia Media this Article Is Not about lake lanier, Its about the 1912 expulsion from forsyth county. This Story is entirely different from lake lanier.
@John Dow It was a thriving black town. The people were slaughtered and the town was flooded. This happened in Tulsa, with the Black Wall Street and many other Black Wall Streets. As well as Seneca village which is now Central Park in New York. Black people have tried to build and thrive in the United States but have constantly been systematically crushed.
MD Supreme because the history of the United States is all based on racial bias..you can’t ignore that. Not to mention it’s STILL a hot topic to this day
@@Itsme_jose By comparison with most of the rest of the world America and the west are the most open minded and least racist of regions in the world. Russia used to be controlled by communists and stalin killed millions of people including some of my relatives. No Russia as a nation is not defined by that. Racism will always exist evefyehere and always has, by every group, just like stealing and killing has and always will. Medieval Europe had a very high homicide rate. Modern Europe has some or the lowest in the world. It makes no sense to fixate on what it used fo have. Yes, america has dacism and a history of it. But it has largely become open minded and accepting. If not, why would so many people from around the globe try to come here? Most places in Japan and South Korea are more developed than most places in america, i guarantee you they think a lot like westerners of the past.
@@andrewfreiji4647 while I completely agree with you on the majority of what you said. We still cannot ignore the reality of our society running off of systemic racism. It quite honestly fits into every category of the lives we live. It’s rather unfortunate, but that’s why it’s important to have these conversations and fix these issues the best we can, instead of downplaying it.
2020, I'm not sure how old this video maybe. Lake Lanier is most definitely not for recreation. What some people are not aware of is; how many people died on that land because they refused to leave their home's. When the flood gates were open to make Lake Lanier a lot of people died. Lake Lanier is a water burial ground and you know what that means. Off limits!
@@AshleyMarie01 2020, As the story goes it was designed for drinking water; not true it was built-in for recreation. During the mid-1950's it was mostly farm land mom and pop stores they were an easy pick. (Meaning not strong enough to fight back.) At first they were going to use Roswell, that would have created a Georgia War. Roswell and Alpharetta were build-off New York Stocks and Bonds. They had stronger supporters so that was out. Back to creating Lake Lanier which is named after a poet who was in the military. The people who refused to move off that land drowned whole family babies and all. Just for the record you will never be given the total death count on Lake Lanier. Starting from the late 1990's 160 people have died by drowning or boating accidents. This count includes the R&B singer "Usher" stepson. True Fact! When Lake Lanier was created too many people suffered! They were forced off their land and the ones that remain behind drowned. Would I vacation there 👎.
Isn't it great how it was our drinking water. When I moved not to Georgia (close to lake Lanier) the water always smelt funny to me. I use to cook with bottled water
@@kayycartierr stfu lmao your ain’t even live near it it’s not creepy at all I camp there during summer and winter and it never gets creepy or anything I swear there all the time even took a fucking bath in the lake cause the bathrooms weren’t working
I'm from Buford born and raised and it was a black wealthy town with an actual race track, business all the above and it was flooded let's not play dumb we all know why they wanted to erase the memory of the town oscarville
They paid the white residents but I was black thriving residents Also that got framed for murder and rape and after their homes farming land etc got burned down and the people got ran over and lots of black bodies buried their
I grew up just a few miles from Burford dam. We lived on the lake on a cove at Kemp Dr. The things we saw while swimming just solidify that there were towns; buildings, homes and cemeteries, simply flooded to make the lake.
I bet you Milledgeville would make an even better story..simply because the people there were suffering in the mental hospital before they died even. I would bet it's even more haunted than Lake Lanier.
@@Miabia1000 no he's still down there. My family gather together we had a memorial candle night, the whole time we was out there they search and search but nothing. The next week of him missing they found a body but it was a man from Florida 😭so sad and heartbroken
If it is true that it was a peaceful well organized site to innocently provide water. The houses would not be under there, the racetrack nor the bodies of innocent people in their homes. I know there are people of the current times that can't believe people were so evil to others because of the color of their skin. Unfortunately, outside of denial there is video evidence as well as people who were actually alive during that time. That cannot be denied. They did it, and unfortunately many of the souls are not resting because of the shock they experienced crossing over. They are fighting for that land as we debate and they are pissed. Nobody deserves such treatment. The time to acknowledge such acts publicly has stepped up and the offspring of the evil are in shock. Just imagine how the offspring of the innocent feel. While you are privileged enough to be the offspring of the guilty and free. They are now finding out that evil comes at a price. There nothing free!
Jade all across America lakes are made above old towns that were left together for fish habitat. This happens in every state.... I see a lot of people in the comments section are uninformed about this 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@jeepernj99 Yes Jim. Although that may be true. The people are evacuated and not left in their homes to drown. This was flooded while people were in their homes, and killed before they knew what hit them. I know that sounds outrageous and evil. This is just the truth of what happened to the people. Their souls are not at peace. 😞
@@rockwithyou9131 Hello Rock this is the first time I' ve heard this, is it really true if so what do they expect might happen, that sounds horrible where can I get more info on this case.itl sound like a horror story to be true, then if they did something wrong and expect great wealth to come from it and all starts going wrong then you know nothing comes easy without a Price to Pay.they can't take lives and keep living their own in Peace. You know all the evil People do in their life time will soon come to light, and it will show what they done.Mrs P your senior citizen reader still in tune and here.
They know they flooded that community. Who builds a lake with all those buildings and houses and stuff in it. They would have cleaned the area first. DAM DEMONS
@@lucasdarnell949 Can you stop! You are on RU-vid. Look up the history of this lake. People die there ALOT. Look at the videos from the actual divers and their truths about what they encountered down there. The killed natives for this land and then black ppl . Then flooded it on top of cemeteries and whole businesses! Stop your stupid narrative that this was just a town they flooded and left the buildings for fish . Matter of fact ,how about you go in the lake and tell us if you feel the same way. Do a video, enlighten us all since that's what you love to do.
@@sharellrogers2718 If you do research, the thing about black people being killed to build the lake is a farce. They were killed in that area and thats terrible, however it was many years prior to the construction. Every man made lake for the most part was placed on top of what used to be a community, cemeteries included. This lake is no different than most in the USA.
Building man made lakes over land that was farms, houses,Forrest etc is common in the us. Hell there are many places built over old burial grounds that many people don’t know about.
@@lucasdarnell949 You're a voice of reason. However, you are talking to imbeciles who don't realize it takes years for a reservoir to fill. Walking out of the way of drowning within years is very doable.
I lived in ga my whole life..i refuse to ever step a toe inside lake laneir and i will never let any of my family do so either..there are bodies in that lake that have never been found..many of them
In the 1800's Cherokee Indians were forced out by white people. In 1912, there was a racial cleansing of black people in the town of Oscarville. Over 1200 people of color were displaced and the town, now full of white people, thrived. It survived the great depression and the boll weevil devastations. All but 5 farmers were asked to sell their property to the government so that it could be flooded for Lake Lanier.
How does this lake supply drinking water to Atlanta when there is a past city underneath the lake? Is the water still able to be consumed by the public? How does that work?
@@melly3043Yea i'm ignorant to that. I'm assuming no amount water purification will make the water clean enough if a whole city is underwater. I guess im comparing it to desalination (removing salt from water). From what ive heard, its very hard to do
They will NEVER FORGET WHAT they did to them!!!! The Lord will have his day with them!!!!!! So sad !!! This not the ONLY BLACK thriving place they’ve done this too!!!! It shows how weak and afraid them folks are of US!!!!! We ARE HIS PEOPLE!!!!and until they do right by US this country will continue to fall!!!!! God said it believe it!!!!
2022 Memorial Day weekend 20 yr old drowned … my question is why do they allow people here!?! Also my question why do they lie about it’s history and how the lake really became to be 😔
There is some talk about Lake Lanier..Being resurrected .. And when He's ready it will have it's life back..But those that have dirty hands..They're being heald accountable for each of their ACTIONS..
It really was built to provide drinking water. Atlanta was originally a railroad stop & the city sprung up so fast they didn't have time to build a proper infrastructure (still a water problem today) How they did it is the big story. Wreaked havoc in the town with violence. Most of the families fled. They paid very few for land but from 1100 plus families to actually only paying about 10 isn't anything to claim but they do & that's how they claim to have "purchased" the land. But they attacked, lynched, raped, burned... of course the people would leave. But it really was for water but Atlanta still has water issues because they still never properly fixed the issue. They just found a place to hold water but still people have to ration it out during heat waves
@@reemj3675 They could've chosen any other place to build a dam. Lanier for drinking water is just a cover up for something that can look to be productive. Just think about it, the irony is that it had to happen near a black town, yet multiple of the same incident happened all over America?
I need to do my research cuz this doesn't make sense. You're telling me during a drought that homes, cars, and other building structures are visible...why was a lake placed here to begin with. Sounds like the movie Poltergeist. You build homes over a cemetery but don't remove the bodies
DUH! If They EVIL NOW! Causing Death To MANY....How MUCH More They Were BACK Then ...Is Not Shocking For Money Hungry Evil Jealous Demonic PEOPLE.Their Offspring Still Here!
@@dylan2901 Haunted? Nothing is haunted. There are no ghosts and no spirits. Once you die that is it. The brain is powerful. What people fail to realize is when they frequent so called "haunted places" they go there with the mindset that they will actually see, hear or experience something. Your mind will actually trick you into believing that nonsense. You are forcing yourself to believe in something that is not there and manifesting it all on your own.
The fact that filling that lake wasn't very long ago. In the lifetime of some reading this, parents or grandparents & the history of it almost knocked out. The fact that some only know about this from tiktok & there are WAY too many Atlantians who knew nothing of the history. This is what irritates me SO much about our youth. If it's not on social media, it's not important. Don't want to hear about "old stuff" or that was a long time ago, it wasn't. Just happened b4 u were born but still not long ago. I remember starting school knowing segregation had existed but not realizing my oldest sister's 1st year was segregated because it looked so long ago. So when I started desegregation was normal TO ME but had only just begun. By teen years I knew more & better as most did. That's not the case anymore. Until social media says be outraged, many won't be
It’s not the younger generation’s fault for not being taught proper history. There’s a lot of things most people, if not all, don’t know because of fabricated or undocumented history.I honestly think it’s good that the story was shared through TikTok. That’s what helped bring the story to surface and caused people to actually research and learn more.
I live in the ozarks and swim in table rock a lot so many people drown here ... I just don’t understand it’s a man made lake and they also flooded a city As well look in to it honestly
The real truth about the real People that lived there and how they were forced to vacate for the ones that didn't Back then I think we know how that went.
Kinda like smith lake but except they didn’t harm anyone flooding the valley. It’s still a whole ass town under there and really dangerous if you get to certain levels of the lake
He said "as a father, son, brother, having to go passed there" imagine going passed there as a descendant of the ancestors slaughtered there daily or even seeing these stories. Yet, the country doesnt think it should have to repair the endless amounts of families for nearly half a millennium of atrocities
I love how they dare talk about the truth and the whole story. Still today. Ohhh it’s one of the things we should forget about due to the monstrous acts of others so their kids live carefree not knowing the truth.
This is literally like every man made lake lol😂 I work on the lake everyday most deaths on lanier are from idiots that don't know how to boat or are drunk and aren't paying attention
