Day 2 (This Video)
SOLVED: 💔 Missing 24-year-old Jacob VanZant Found
• SOLVED: 💔 Missing 24-y...
Day one plunges us into the depths of despair as we meet Joanna, Jacob's anguished mother, and Jessica, his devoted sister, who share their determination to find him. Jacob, 24 years old, went missing while on a mission to deliver sushi from a local restaurant in Lodi to his girlfriend in Stockton. The search begins at the last known cell phone ping, a bridge just east of the area.
Guided by Jared's expertise and aided by an unwavering community of family and friends, the search scours the treacherous waters, driven by the urgency to find Jacob. They explore the ferry crossing, a critical location due to its proximity to the road where a high-speed accident could lead to tragedy. The team discovers multiple submerged vehicles, meticulously diving into each one, hoping to unveil the answers they desperately seek.
Day Two: Triumph Amidst Tragedy
Part two unfolds with a surge of anticipation as Jared's team zeroes in on the pivotal breakthrough. After extensive sonar scanning, they identify a vehicle of interest near the ferry crossing resembling Jacob's white Honda Pilot. With a mix of hope and trepidation, the divers navigate the depths, clinging to the possibility of closure for Jacob's family.
The moment of truth arrives as the wreckage of Jacob's vehicle is located, with its front gravely damaged. It becomes apparent that Jacob fought fiercely for survival, evidenced by the closed side windows and his valiant attempts to escape out the broken rear window. The tragic nature of the accident unfolds, revealing that Jacob's untimely demise was the result of a high-speed collision with the water and drunk driving.
With the absence of foul play, the docuseries delves into the intricate details of the recovery operation. Jared, alongside local authorities, ensures the utmost care and respect as Jacob's body is carefully extracted from the vehicle. The license plate, bearing the unique identifier 5JBC311, serves as a poignant reminder of Jacob's presence and the answer it brings to his grieving family.
Through candid interviews, raw emotions, and personal accounts, the docuseries provides an intimate look into the profound impact of Jacob's disappearance on his loved ones and the resilience they display during this unimaginable tragedy. It underscores the significance of community support, the unwavering pursuit of truth, and the healing power that comes with finding answers.
Unveiling the mystery in the search for Jacob stands as a testament to the enduring strength of family bonds and the extraordinary efforts made by compassionate individuals to bring solace to those left behind. Prepare to embark on an emotional journey filled with sorrow, hope, and the indomitable spirit of a family determined to find their lost loved one.

Based on our assessment and the family's perspective, it is believed that Jacob remained conscious when his vehicle plunged into the water. As the impact triggered the airbag and water began rushing through the broken front windshield, the side windows remained intact and could not be shattered nor could the doors be opened. In a desperate attempt to escape, Jacob swiftly maneuvered toward the broken rear window. However, he became entangled with the rear headrests, ultimately taking his last breath while halfway out of the vehicle. It is the shared belief that had Jacob possessed a Window Breaker to swiftly shatter a side window, he could have escaped within seconds instead of grappling with the challenge of traversing two rows of seats and exiting through the rear window. This poignant observation highlights the potential for a different outcome had the means for quick escape been readily available, leaving us to ponder the possibilities and the heartbreaking "what ifs." 💔 WINDOW BREAKERS SAVE LIVES! 😢 Are you prepared if your vehicle goes into the water, catches fire, or you need to rescue an infant or pet trapped in a hot car? I was watching a recovery from the Adventures with purpose partners "Chaos Divers." They were recovering possible suicide that was days, possibly one week old. Not sure if it was considered a suicide or not, but when they found said vehicle, it wasn't anything but a shiny glare on sonar. No part of it resembled a vehicle whatsoever. In Jacob's case, he and his vehicle were under water for several weeks. That glare that Jacob's vehicle made resembled something new to being underwater for a short period of time. Sonar reflected off a smooth surface.

Ahhh mike C'mon. Everybody knows he said it to give her some peace. Actually there is far worse ways to die and to be fair he's a diver so perhaps he was just being completely honest with stating that drowning would be his preferred way of passing. I don't think anybody wants to pass over suffering. Sadly as it is it would have only been minutes and he would have gasped for breath and his lungs filled with water, its really that quick... as opposed to someone slowly dying from cancer or dementia.
@billbombshiggy9254
@billbombshiggy9254 2 месяца назад
I dunno y'all. I heard that drowning while terrifying in the beginning only because of those survival instincts, becomes quite peaceful in the end. Like the last minute or so is peaceful, and you don't even feel it. That's what I've read from people who have drowned but we're resuscitated. This one guy said suddenly the urge to breathe just went away and he was just aware of everything around him and the next thing he knew he was coughing up water on the shore and was way out of it.
@baychick
@baychick 10 дней назад
@@Mikefantasia22while nobody wants to drown, what he was likely referring to is that multiple studies show that you will actually pass out before the actual drowning and coroners have found minimal stress to the body compared to other unnatural causes of death. Obviously the initial panic and survival instinct is there, but he wouldn’t have had much in the way of pain, he would’ve just passed out and it wouldn’t have lasted very long. Other than carbon monoxide poisoning when you go to sleep, it’s considered one of the fastest and most painless ways to die. I’m sure any comfort he could give to that mom in that moment, he reached for it.

I was thinking about this too. It makes you wonder if there are other missing people in those cars, if so my heart breaks for them and their families as well. I feel thankful living in a state inland because most of the waterways around CO are far from the rode. I also cannot believe how that entrance didn't have a gate or cameras. I think the city should take all those cars out as well as installing the proper safety measures including cameras to make sure that if someone does go into the water they are quickly found. @Cathy Swaim it is indeed the hardest of all rescue jobs. Being under water all alone, searching - and finding - people who have passed on, not only requires a lot of focus and energy during the intervention, but a whole lot of mental work afterwards as well. And it doesn't get easier or ever becomes a routine. Every intervention is personal and different. As a rescue diver, I can still see all of them when I close my eyes. I am fortunate enough to have one memory of a live one who went on to pass on several years later of old age instead of under his tractor that had rolled over into a pond... With the work Jared does, it is virtually impossible for him to find such consoling experiences, so he deserves every credit and praise for doing what he does. We can only hope that he finds solace in the peace he creates in people's hearts and that he has a solid coping mechanism in place...

My late husband died of suicide in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hikers found him, and disrespected his remains, as they found him 45 minutes after he jumped to his death. They took pictures and sent them to their friends and video calling him a loser. The park rangers and FBI told me days later during the investigation. No charges or harshness was given to those animals who thought it was funny and hurt our family. Dealing with FBI since it was on federal land they were not kind to us neither were rangers, the only kind persons involved was the reporters and the law enforcement of Fort Collins. Thank you AWP for your thoughtfulness and comforting compassion for the victim and his familyies.

Honestly, yes, if the family says it's okay to use the sonar image. If common sense won't stop people from drunk driving, then maybe fear will. It's really such a shame because this was 100% avoidable. He could've not drove, or asked someone else to drive him, or he could've not drank. Not only did he lose everything because of a stupid mistake, but his actions have caused irreversible damage to his family and friends. Ah, but hindsight is always 20/20.

My condolences for the loss of your Mother. 💔 J lost my Mommy when I was only 5. Barely remember here only knowing that she was ALWAYS so loving & kind! Telling my so-called “father” to not hit us. To stop yelling at us when we were little. 😔 I miss her so very much & til’ this very day I still am the only one that really visits her grave & it still doesn’t have a headstone. 💔 This “former Father” doesn’t care to buy one. He doesn’t want to talk to me either. Calling me retarded, stupid, scum of earth, etc. Because I’m now disabled from a drunk driver that hit my own family’s van & gave me epilepsy. I still saved lives after that being a graduate w/ academic honors in medical field. I helped anyone in vehicle accidents. Also in hospital J saved a man’s life when a violent patient punched him on his head & gave him a large contusion on his right temporal lobe. He couldn’t stay awake! Tried knocking on nurses windows telling them to send patient to ER STAT; that patient is losing consciousness & he’s no longer coherent. They yelled at me. Telling me to shut up & leave them alone. I had to take care of him w/ ice & a washcloth. Trying to make do w/ what was available. Told them I’ll report them when I’ll be sent home. I helped many of patients there including the M.A’s. The patients started to believe in life and the M.A’s wanted to hire me. The psychologist didn’t understand why I was there and said he was sending me home. I said Apparently God sent me here for a reason. To help others. I lost 4 lbs. being there for 3 days. I’d starved because they’d not given me insulin. (Being type 1 diabetic!) I couldn’t eat. I only drank water & my glucose levels were really high!! They neglected to give me insulin! Even refused to give me long acting insulin necessary for type 1 diabetics. I said I’d report them and each day I awoke I’d go and help the individual w/ the injury on his skull. He was getting worse. I was having to go home but he was hard to understand because of his surgery 2x’s in past from lung cancer from smoking. Had hole in his throat. I still helped him w/ injury. Kept him awake and helped him w/ his injury. I told him to stay conscious and told him I must leave now but that I promise I’m going to have him sent to the ER. That I will report the staff that did us all wrong as well. To continue to believe in God and pray. He thanked me and hugged me. The other patients I had said goodbye to I hugged each of them and they were all crying begging me not to go. I had tears in my eyes. Telling them to be strong and remember what I sung to them about God. To believe that Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and that God is with you always. Pray and hold your head up! That I love them! Be strong! Even the Medical Staff I helped out were sad to see me go. I hugged them all. Told them I’ll think about coming back to work there. (I don’t know…my grandma & Uncle died at that hospital.) It’s a bad hospital. As you can tell. I will have to make changes to their treatment of patients and medical care demand they make changes! Which Will get me fired. Lol. Anyhow beautiful work that is done…it brought me to tears!!! I am glad they took care of recovering so many people and Jacob’s body as well. I was in tears. Hard to watch this. At least there is closure. He’s always going to be visiting his loved ones and always watching from Heaven above. 🥲🙏🕊️🤍

Poor Jacob, this is why drinking and driving is one of the most dangerous things a human can do. I hope everyone who watched this video understands the message. I’m not saying you shouldn’t drink, even though drinking alcohol isn’t a healthy activity anyway, but if you’re drinking, call an Uber, call a cab, ask a friend who didn’t drink to drive you home, hell, walk home if it’s safe to do that. Just DON’T drive, you’ll protect yourself and other people.

This PD did it right. Let the full time professionals handle the extraction of Jacob in a compassionate and correct way. Don't make the family wait longer for "your dive team" to arrive and hopefully manage the situation correctly and in a respectful way. Too many get into turf issues and become rude to the voluntary dive team that did what the PD couldn't do. Kudos to this PD and to Jared and his team for bringing Jacob home. I lost my daughter at 24 years old ten years ago. The loss and pain never leaves you, there is no closure until you meet again in the after life. Knowing the how and why does help with managing the loss though. RIP to this young man and hopefully his memory will console his parents and family.

In fact, we dove on the recovery for the stunt Chipmunk pilot that pancaked off Casino Point filming the Top Gun flat spin footage....anyways, I have never made a dive since I lost my brother, but you bring some hard, but good, memories. Thank you for what you do....families need closure

I'd bet money he was injured, definitely disoriented since the airbags went off (I've been in a car crash that set mine off, and let me tell you, it took me a solid fifteen seconds to regain my bearings). The fact he got as far as he did is impressive. I wonder if he had any leg or spinal injures that interfered with him getting out.

I wonder if the impact injured him, and that's why he was unable to escape. Jared was able to get him out with relative ease - granted, that's after months of Jacob being underwater, so it might've been easier too. Still, it's much more tragic due to how close he was to getting out.

I'm spiritual and feel they are together. I think after it happened there was regret and sadness but I believe he's embraced his fate and it has a lot to do w their child. I hear that passing over doesn't void one from feelings esp about how it happened. It doesn't make it less tragic but I know energy doesn't die, it's just transferred somewhere else. Along with all the people we LOVE in every lifetime. Love is the most powerful thing, it keeps us connected thanks to Source.

While it's heartbreaking to think about his final moments, it's important to understand that, in the end, drowning becomes a peaceful process. He would have experienced a rush of adrenaline and likely panic while trying to escape. The initial discomfort comes from the body's instinct to inhale for oxygen, causing a quick intake of water. This sensation is similar to accidentally swallowing liquid down the wrong pipe-intense but very brief, lasting just a second or so. After that, it becomes painless, and he would have remained conscious for a short time before drifting into unconsciousness. His discomfort was short-lived, and he would have quickly moved into a state of unconsciousness. I share this with the hope of offering some comfort. Speaking from experience, I work for an ocean rescue charity in the UK.
