MSC is overall a great value. Not sure what the issue is people have with the food! Its totally fine. Its like any resort. Theres gonna be items that are great and some that aren't a 10.. I enjoyed most of the food I ate on board. And if you paid 300 for a cruise what's the big deal if they try to upsell you . Thats how they keep the fares low. Ive already booked my next sailing and planning next years on there new ship World America
@cdavis8853 Not everyone is a foodie. Some prefer other things, beach , sunshine, ocean view, casino, etc. I like that I don't have to pay for someone else's surf and turf or ultimate drink package. You do you. I will pay for my choices like balcony cabin and excursions and love that there are upgrade options for others also.
Been to ocean cay twice and going again on the world America inaugural sailing. With respect to solo cruisers, I was able to snag a solo ocean view on world America inaugural for my wife's friend for $1560 with wifi and ez+ drink package.

You are correct. Today I returned from my first solo cruise on the same MSC ship (Magnifica). It was a nice ship and I enjoyed the entertainment. I especially liked the 18+ comedian from Brooklyn. He was hilarious.
I heard this from some others too Andrew! Think it is because I was sitting in public and using a softer talking voice as the setting were the same. Will keep in mind when i head back to MSC.
There newer ships have a lot more options when it comes to food. On Magnifica, it is only their oriental restaurant but Sea class has a TON more. I have never felt an upsale - on day one, you will see more of this but after that it really fades out. I would not do the dinning package on one of their smaller ships, only the newer and bigger ones.
I'd love to take an MSC cruise. I wish they sailed from Southern California. It would be so much easier to give a try with less travel to a farther port.

I appreciate your insights. We sailed on MSC Magnifica in February and really enjoyed it. We have no interest in some of the activities on larger ships and don't want to pay for passage on a ship that has activities we would never use
Agree. As a person who isn’t ‘food motivated’ I look for the most ports on a cruise itinerary. One issue that I don’t think would be an issue, actually was a major concern- Reduced Security and Crowd Control. In a theatre full of people, a drunk woman punched me and another passenger because we asked her to stop kicking our chairs and hitting us with her flailing arms. It took passengers to shoo her out of the room, Security never appeared.
Oh wow! That sounds like a viral tiktok moment! Unfortunately, I am not sure any cruise line would have handled this different. They all have security but the theater is normally a low key location and rarely see them. During a show, you traditionally have no crew members except for the stage/light technicians unless an officer happens to be watching the show with you.

I know you stick to the Caribbean but have you taken Costa? I don't know if they have cruises over there -- I think they do. So many hate it, but probably as many as who hate Costa. Curious minds :-)

I have been on two msc cruises. Meraviglia and magnifica, I would try seashore or seascape for my first msc cruise. I'm booked on world America inaugural sailing. The bar at the buffet let's you grab a few drinks and not be stingy like Royal Caribbean

Hey Rhondalyn! This is where I try to stay in my lane! I use a travel agent who I love and do not book my own cruises. A good travel agent will be your best bet to ensure you get it all right!
