Omg, Finally booked my first solo cruise for my Bday! Turning Gold on it as well. Looking forward to it and hoping I don’t find myself wishing I hadn’t. It’s kinda of a bucket list thing for me. Bring on Nov 5th!
Hello, fantastic video. We are sailing this ship in November out of San Juan, PR. The ship leaves at 8:30pm. Do you have any idea what time they begin boarding at the earliest? Thank you!
Talking safety in Nassau saddens me. I know I am looking at Nassau now with ‘rose tinted spectacles’ Nassau was a location where the cast and crew spent a lot of time filming Thunderball back in early 1965 Also spent time at Paradise Island Sean Connery died at his home in Lyford Cay which he lived for around 18-20 years The cast and crew had a ‘whale of a time’ there and the Junkanoo Many behind the scenes videos from thunderball the place looked great and no way dangerous but 60 years ago 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I actually saw you on the Magnifica (July 14-17 sailing) in the Topazio Lounge while the Caribbean Trio (not their official name) but you were in conversation so I did not interrupt. I actually enjoyed my time on the Magnifica and would sail again. The Cruise Director - Rev. Dr. E is a hoot.
Was at the Hideaway this weekend with my little group. I liked it. Especially because I found out that the organizer of this little trip had a fund from our organization that she used to pay for it and for the prepaid gratuities as well. We ended up having a few beers and some wings and cracked conch at The Pirate Inn. I took note of all the places you mentioned there in Nassau. We declimbed the Queens Steps ...in the rain.
I am a pianist so I would love that...the price awww no, I'd be happy with Jr suite but anyone having this royal suite could invite me to play for them ...I'll take $20 tip lol
You got to be kidding!!!!! I am not Santa Claus … The cruise company takes 18% to 20% for drinks and other services such as spa, massages etc…If you go to Germany, France, Spain…they DONT TIP…so, just because we are coming from the US we have to butter everybody along the way….Nahhh… my tipping is much different, and if they don’t like it…go to work in a store!!
Coco beach club an adults pool only**** should be called an adult beach party club. I only paid $23. and was disappointed as the pool water was cooler than the beach water and the pool is heated. Also does the music really have to be that loud? You can’t hear a person talking to you without them yelling. At least when I was there the first week of June. Also I was disappointed that they removed the music from the other pool and the underwater music I use to show and tell everyone about. Everyone would be so impressed with that it’s a shame to see that gone. What’s wrong with you RC? I took a poll and ask 30 people what do they expect when going to an adults only beach club. 26 of the 30 answered “I expect an area with peace and quiet and no kids allowed. I too expect that and not a Las Vegas style party pool for adults only. Not to mention the heat pool was not heated. Royal should call it the Adults party pool and beach club. It’s not what a lot of people think it is once they arrive.
Good feedback and I will agree with you. I need to do a better job of showing more footage while I am talking. Stick wth me and will try to improve. Thank you for the kind and honest feedback.
I'm a Brit born in Nassau but can't have dual nationality because they don't allow it (lex sanguinis rather than lex solis). But I don't care because I have property on Menorca which is the same size and shape as New Providence but no jigs and no crime.
You should have no issues! It is a newer ship and has stabilizers to keep it from rocking. Bring meds just Incase as you never know. I have done almost 150 cruises and less than 5 have been rocky.
I'll be on Reflection in August. When the ship stops at Coco Cay I'm planning to stay onboard. Hopefully most passengers will be going on to the island and I'll have the ship pool, which will cost me nothing, all to myself.
I bet you that weird room you couldn’t figure out what it was for, is probably there specifically for people to use as a photo backdrop for vacation selfies.
for anyone watching- Day beds in pool arent cabanas they are free- The cabanas are located near the pool behind the few free pool chairs they offer and it comes with those adirond ack chairs that most people dont know are reserved for the cabana people
I was on the Explorer in April, Labadee was replaced with Coco Cay. We were lucky enough to try Hideaway Beach for $19.99- glad I tried it but probably wouldn't do it again.
Like any city you have to know where to go but for most case's you have nothing to worry about the queens stOr case is not over the hill for the .ost part your safe
I was recently on an NCL, going solo. I booked an inside, standard. If I had booked the SOLO cabin category, the price was $1000/00 more than what I paid. My single supplement was less (for the inside cabin), but the SOLO was wayyyy more. Don't buy into the idea that SOLO category is cheaper.
I agree. All my 2024 cruises are free cruises. I am trying out the different ships on MSC and CCL. I am having fun. The only problem is that I can't get a free casino cruise out of RCI, and when I researched RCI comp cruises, they were stingy and not long enough. And they emalied me that they aren't doing comp matches anymore. So my friend invited me on RCI and I thought that I could get a comp cruise but it's not happening, so I'll just pay for it out of pocket and see if I like it or not. Also, for me, I cannot spend hours in a casino. Fifteen minutes seems like hours to me, and after 15 min. I have to get up and get out of there. It's just not a good fit for my personality. And I don't worry about not paying anything: I pay plenty for the wifi. Cruise cabin fare is totally imaginary; cruise lines profit off the extras. I think that I was treated best on CCL: the captain gave me a free bottle of wine and I got 1st place in a couple of contests and so I'll probably stick with Carnival. And long cruises more than ten days are best for me as long as there is Starlink. So the casino comps got me introduced to the ships, but I think in the long run I'm like you, I'll survey the different lines and then settle on one or two lines that treat me best.
They sure are! If you have a drink package on the ship, it will carry over onto the island. Highly recommended when you have a short cruise with a ship in Cococay.
Very interesting. I do MSC and CCL I never did RCI, but my friend invited me to RCI six months from now, so I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to like the RCI loyalty system or not.
It's funny, it took me hitting all these crazy high levels to finally realize I don't need a loyalty program. I just love booking the best cruise for me in the moment and don't think about loyalty.
We've been on RC and were told that Celebrity was a big step up in terms of food. It was NOT. My husband said it was worse, I thought it was about the same quality but suffered from fewer options. Considering Virgin but I liked the pool experience on Celebrity.
Hi there! Great video. I’m sailing on the Seascape in 9 days for the second time. I have a question about Ocean Cay. I hear they sometimes stay overnight at the island but my itinerary says we depart at 8:00. I’m on a 7 night cruise and Ocean Cay is our last stop. I would love a later stay. Do you know anything about how this works? Thanks in advance.
Hey there! I was just on Seascape the last weekend and editing the videos now! For overnights, your itinerary would tell you you have two days there. Good news, all aboard will probably be 7:30pm which is still much later than most private islands. Love it at Ocean Cay!
The app is pretty meh on Android IMO. First off, it likes to disconnect randomly and you often need to exit the app and restart it. Second -- and this is a BIG one -- you cannot add a non-RC event to your calendar. So if you plan to meet your friends at 3 pm at the Schooner Lounge, you can't put an event in your calendar to remind you. We were on a Fan Club cruise with a band that had multiple shows per day in various venues, but those were not in the app. Ergo, you need to use your regular calendar app AND the RC app to see what you have coming up. Thirdly, it's also missing key items like the breakfast/lunch venue hours and such so you're forced to find the day sheet to look those up. And it would be nice if you could use your phone to pay for drinks and whatnot instead of needing the physical card.
I would say that is a fair statement. I hope they have their accessible cabins in a location that's easy to access for you! Outside of the stateroom hallways you should be fine.
