Note that the band is a Seto band. Setos are a distinct cultural-regional group of Estonians from Southeastern Estonia who spent most of their history cut away from Estonia and ruled by Russia, that's why their culture has strong Russian influences and they are traditionally Orthodox. Nowadays in their modern life, they are quite assimilated into the rest of Estonian culture though.

That is literally the perfect way to describe Estonia. Felt at complete peace while walking around in nature. Could literally hear a pin drop. Haha yes, the falling is a normal occurrence just started to capture it more often on camera 😂 Aww glad it has put Estonia on the list! Thanks for watching ❤

Greetings from Estonia🇪🇪 The two gentlemans are the best singers who speaks "Seto", they're from Värska! You should visit this small borough! It's very lovely there, I know it because I was born there. Its near the Russian boarder. There's the famous water company name " Värska Vesi". You should visit "Seto museum" too. Oh and there's a place called "Värska Sanatorium". In there you can relax 💆. Hope you had great time in estonia 🇪🇪!

Howdy. The bit about religion, at about 2:30, is not entirely accurate. Estonia used to be pagan, then from 13th century until 16th it was nominally Catholic (pagan beliefs ever-so-slowly losing ground in favour of Christianity). 16th century brought the reformation and Estonia became mostly Lutheran (excluding some few thousands of Russian old believers who lived in their own quite isolated communities). By mid 19th century Estonians were pretty much as religious as Finns or Latvians. More or less. Christianity Light, one might say. That particular church was built as part of a larger russification campaign in late-late 19th century to 1) get more Estonians to abandon Lutheran church and join Russian orthodox church and 2) to turn Tallinn (back then aka Reval) into more Russian-looking town. Hence the location and high visibility. Estonian irreligiousness comes mainly from historical pigheadedness towards "German" faith of conquerors and 20th century Soviet atheism. The current paganism is a modern thing and not a continuous tradition that has survived, though I suppose we are indeed closer to nature than some other peoples of Europe. Other than that, glad you enjoyed our flat country.

I don't think that Estonians are not religious because they were pagans.. According to sources, 58 percent of Estonia doesn't claim affiliation to any religion. In the Netherlands, 55 percent don't claim affiliation and the stats are much different in most northern European countries. Most Northern countries had a very long history with various sects of the Christian religion.. I think there are more recent ( last 90 years) that have sped the departure from religion in Europe. The rise of Socialism and Communism in the 2nd half of the 20th century. I lived in Europe for decades back in the day and most Socialists and certainly Communist that I knew personally, were not religious. Furthermore, the social programs provided by individual governments made it so the less fortunate were not so reliant on handouts from churches when things were difficult. Many go to church to feel part of a community and support. Thirdly, many especially, clear thinking, down to earth people see the hypocrisy of some in the church.. One need not look further than the Catholic church to realize what they teach is not what they do...

Estonia was actually last pagan country in Europe that was subjucated and even when it was offically subjcated in long war there was century of confrontation, guirella war. When Estonian finally accepted there is foreign religion to rule them, they mostly just put on the face, but they never took it deeply in, that is also reason who alot of Estonian holydays and customs are Christianized. Soviet rule had its effect against religion, but it realy didnt turn estonians to atheist like it wanted. Estonian are Spiritualist country , most common traditions are ancestor veneration and spiritualized nature ak nature spirits and thouse things are deeply personal and people dont talk about them much. When people think Estonia Is Not Very religios country they Instantlu think Most estonians are Atheist. In Estonia there is actually less atheists than Religious people.
