Love it mate! As soon as those international borders open from Australia, I'm visiting the whole of Thailand for as long as I can! Much love and peace to you and yours.
Awesome, what more can be said. You have found the life for you and your family and you share it with people all around the world. Thank you for that from Calgary Alberta Canada.
Ryan, you are some of the special few who had figured out how to really live the human life and not the rat race life. I always look forward to see new video from your channel. May you and your beautiful family live a happy life. Thank you!
Well said mate I sold everything a few years ago and gave up the security of Canada to live in Isaan. Like yourself live on a farm with my ladies family, no regrets, love my cheap no stress lifestyle. Best from Ubon Ratchathani
Never once thought you push a agenda Ryan, you vlog rural lifestyle with Damo & Otis which is great.Don't change the style mate.As you explain, rural Thai life is not for everyone but with your projects and mindset it works wonders for yourself.
You asked what we’d like to see more of in a previous post… more of this. This film emanates peace, tranquility and the beauty of Thailand and Thai people. I loved the temple scene and the views of the rice fields. Your wisdom and commentary are spot on as you share an inspiring view of life. This film, and your channel as a whole, are the essence สบาย. Thank you 🙏
Security blanket of the west comes with its negative side, stress, overworked, less time to socialise, less time with family, less time with nature. before you know it retirement comes around and life was spent working and worrying. Robotic life. Im a big fan of your lifestyle Thankyou for showing us how life should be lived.
Enjoy your kid. Life is short and the most beautiful times in life is seeing an unconditional love grow up and be a good person. And investing time with your kid will make you proud. I did it and my 2 sons grew up to be great souls. Your kid is already a great soul and you should be proud of your teachings
What an idyllic childhood Otis and the other children have, to have all them open spaces to explore with your pets and loving parents must be wonderful ❤️
Each to his own…… whether to have a rural lifestyle, or to live with a more materialistic lifestyle, PS - It’s so nice to see Otis gaining many wonderful farm life in the country, ie, growing and living sustainable, playing with the farm animals, eating home-grown fruits snd veggies; More so, taking an educated approach with your son. It’s just wonderful seeing you pursue this special bonding!
Ryan - Your take on life and other comments are very similar, in many ways, to my own. I left the security of a good job and safe/easy environment, for life in Phen, Udon Thani. I am now married and would never go back to the UK - the simple, uncomplicated life is the 'way to go', at least it is for me. I love the vlogs of you and your family's life and journey - keep it up !
Excuse me can I add you on Facebook sir ,I am currently living in the uk ,but my partners parents live in udon Thani which I have visited twice we are currently in the process of purchasing some land just out side this province can we start chatting with a view to possibly meet up in 2022 ,thankyou
It's lovely watching you both spend so much time with the young one . As a 9 to 5 ( or more like 7 to 6 ) man I regret the time lost with our young ones . Keep up the closeness .
Another awesome vdo on the rural life... So much positive thoughts and energies as usual from your family. And that what your channel is all about.. Love the puppies mucking around, ha ha... Stay positive stay healthy (minus the grilled fishes) ha ha....
Beautiful video that makes one feel good after watching it. Otis is such a beautiful little fella it brings back memories of when my half Thai son was young. Thanks for sharing your lives with us 👍
Watching this vid really took me back to when my son Benji was very young, when we visited the temple he spontaneously bowed and waid the Bhuda. I asked my wife where he learnt that and she said " I don't know"
Looking great at the moment with all the rain you've had. Hope you haven't suffered with the flooding though, looks beautiful around and so green. Thanks for showing us. With things starting to relax a bit now, hopefully it won't be too much longer before i can get out there myself 👍
Loving your videos mate, thanks for sharing your dream, your family and philosophy. I for one very much enjoy the rural aspect of not just Thailand only, but anywhere really. You can always go into town for a blow and a jam if you want anyway. I have never mentioned it before, but I usually love your choice of music and songs you put on your videos, today was no different. Thanks again
Yeah we built a small house at the farm so can have a place to relax and eat after working hard. Then go to the house in the village to unwind and sleep.
Life for each of us is what we make of it all on our own. We can dream big or just dream at ones own pace. Your life with your family is simple yet so full of love for exactly what you want. Great success I see for sure.
You have a great family there my Brother. Also Taste in Music. Especially my favourite all time Van Song. No Guru No Method No Teacher. In The Garden. Peace be upon you and your family from Wales.
Yes "transferwise /wise" is really great. I think you forgot to mention that they are using "midday rate" which is 5-6% better than the bank's exchange rate.....
attachment and wanting things can be toxic. very, very buddhist. i think you have a wonderful sense on how to live and be present for yourself and family. caveats duly noted on this is your story. still a beautiful example for whatever path you take. about ten thousand years ago i lived in ubon ratchathani. thanks for reminding me about the charms of rural isan life and living to the rhythms of the seasons.all the best to you and your family.
Just saw you today for the first time and binge watched as cleaning. One of the most authentic couples.Yes, the questionnaire episode "he's intelligent". Yep, he is! You're lucky to have found each other! Thailand is an amazing place. I call it my 3rd home after 16 years in Mexico but travelled there so many times. I truly miss it. A fan from Canada. I need a blazer! :)
Great videos about real life; lovely family, lovely life, seems idyllic to us. Most important not about the fantasy or paradise or how cheap everything is; just about a good solid healthy family life, real love, real day to day everyday delight in just living a good life..... your a lucky guy, All the Best to you ALL.
I love rural Thailand, I have a place near Nakhon Sawan, look forward to getting back home next year once everything opens up again. I love the peace and tranquility and you can become almost self sufficient there. We have rice, pigs, chickens, fish, a small house, some trees and vegetables. What more do you need? And last year they opened up a 7/11 in the village!!
Greetings from sunny Preston Lancashire 😀(close to your home town, I think?!), visiting our son Ryan and family. What a wonderful vlog as always. Love seeing your family life 🙏
I remember Ryan walking through rice fields in Japan back in 1981 in fairly deep water with high rubber boots while touring Japan from Canada. All the sights and smells that bring you into the moment including a huge water snake that was motoring toward me but thankfully decided to turn and go off on its own way.
Love listening to your stories old mate. I never once thought you were trying to see the lifestyle to me…to be honest you don’t have to. I’ll be back there soon and traveling. Take care
I appreciate your honesty. I have spent some time up in Udon Thani - it was marvellous, but I knew it wasn't for me. Nor were the fleshpots of Bangkok, Pattaya or even beautiful Ao Nang down on the southern coastal peninsular. After some time toying wth moving to Thialand, I decided staying in the UK and visiting Thailand, along with other SE Asian favourites, was going to work best for me. Yours is one of the most authentic expat voices in SE Asian vlogging. You're not selling anything, you're not a monger (thank god), you're intelligent and you understand how to edit a decent video. Thank you so much.
@@lifeinruralthailand I respectfully disagree with you on your last point. State of mind yes but to me if i live in the west in a very busy city with people with casino capitalist mindset around me i just dont feel good. I was born in a small village in east Hungary surrounded with nature and animals and i just cant enjoy city life no matter how many times i get a salary raise :-)
I can see you have so much in your life to make you happy. It's a joy to see when someone (in this case all 3 of you), finds that wonderful place in life. Well done!
haha, yes getting the deposit back; it is a challenge! In our rural Thailand we have 500 Mb fiber internet, which is better than my UK Openreach Sky fiber (seriously), and the Thai rural fiber was installed 2 years ago and the UK Openreach fiber has only just become available!
Well done mate that was a beautifully made piece, good advice too. The vibrancy and abundance of life in rural Thailand is simply amazing. You can forage enough food for an entire family with a little preparation and a couple of hours work and it's good eating! Love this country, the life I have here on reflection is sadly no longer possible in the west. Keep up the great content 👍
You folks are provide a beautiful example for a simple life more back to the simplicity of life. If you are in the right time and space for your soul then I agree find that place that soothes your heart, soul, and mind.
Another idea about knowing the monthly rent is asking a Thai friend or your girlfriend to make the initial call, inquiring about the rent. The price will be based on the true value set by the landlord; quite possibly if you make the call yourself, the price could easily be more. You are a foreigner with more disposable income.
You have a beautiful wife and child. As long you as you are happy and your heart pure, unpleasant comment by others don’t matters. I am from Singapore and have a village house in Esan Nakhon Phanom too, under my Thai god’s son name. I know his dad when he was a construction worker in Singapore. I see the boy from birth till he is now 22 years old. Support his education from primary to study in Rangsit university in Bangkok now. Destiny comes in different ways to each individual.🙏 สวัสดีครุป
Just found your channel by chance and have subscribed. I am a twenty year resident of Thailand one of the many expats who got stranded outside of Thailand back in March of 2020 staying in America waiting to return to the family. Nearly impossible because of the complicated and expensive Thailand Pass. I guess will have to wait until next year when the Thai government wakes up to the fact hardly anyone bothered coming.
