And likes having it's backdoors open whilst being ridden. Pretty certain Geoff did mention something about protection And those noises Mrs Geoff was making whilst bent over....finding the phone..... Sorry...the evidence is all there
I did notice you kept referring to it as a Citroen, despite all the Peugeot badges, however just after you mentioned about having it valeted at 7:32 you did refer to it as a Peugeot 807, so well done.
Yes, seems a bit dumb that. How can you not know what car you have? It's not like Citroens are not a little more distinctive than most other cars inside.
It's a Stellantis. So there's a whole range of badges you can slap onto your vehicle. Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall, Opel, Dodge, Lancia, Fiat, Crysler, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, or even Maserati.
Hahaah , dont worry about it mate , these things happen , sort of reminds of a time when i bought an old 1976 ford f100 , about 20 years old to use for towing , id bought it the week before and done some repairs and tidied it up , i had joined the que in the motor registration branch in Melbourne (straya ) , finally i got to the desk and handed over my paper work , and dear lady looked up at me with her big eyes , and said , so you are registering a Torana ? And i`m looking back at her like a stunned mullet ....er no . Which in Australia back in them days was like a medium sized 70`s GM sedan with a holden badge on it . So she allowed me enough time to run out and double check the rego plate , and sure enough it was right( or factually wrong for that vehicle ) , so she handed me the phone and allowed me to give the guy that sold me the car a ring and some choice words :) , who was suddenly very apologetic and thinking he was going to have a visit from the coppers any minute , and informed me he had used the other car plates to move the unregistered car across town , he gave me the correct original number plate NO which checked out , i bought new plates , and , it was all sweet , and transferred into my name . I dont mind telling you , i was having oh shit moments going through my head :) . You have them days :) . I agree with you mate , the Peugot looks like a handy vehicle that is very versatile for the family cruiser ..... may she serve you and the family well !
Ive had the older version before the 806 with a 2 ltr turbo diesel. A fantastic car. And you didn't gave up your live, you started a new one. Congrats Geoff
Glad you twigged it was a Peugeot!! I reckon those people carriers are great. I had a Kia Sedona in 2002 and it was a great car - so useful. That’s a keeper!
Camper van conversion. Or.... Pimp My Ride style man cave van! Couch in the back, blinded windows, big screen TV, wood floor and interior, fridge with non alcoholic cocktails and 0.0% corona or other beer!
I wasn't going to say anything about you, saying in your first video "well that's my Peugeot" as I was convinced it was a Citroen. At least that's my story. I still like the car, and will not be retracting my comment. Once a Citroen, always a Peugeot!!! eh, why not.
I once told a mate a really long drawn out joke which involved many Hamsters, it wasn't until I reached the punchline that I discovered that I has actually been saying Hedgehog instead of Hamster, yes I felt like a tit, it happens to all of us, sometimes more than once.
I spent ages looking for a Mondeo Estate to replace my old V6 Mondeo Estate. I found the right one, including that it had a sun roof. I took the bus to Bristol, then the train to Blackburn, Lancashire, and picked up the car. Fantastic. Couple of miles down the road I reached for the sunroof controls. No sunroof. Somehow I had convinced myself this car had a sunroof even though it didn't say it on the ad or show one in the pictures. The mrs was pregnant at the time and very unwell with it so I put it down to the stress. Weird though when reality turns out to be not what you thought it was!
Don't worry Geoff, I've done the same thing only the opposite way around. I took my Peugeot 5008 to have the clutch changed (ouch), and when I arrived at the garage to collect it, I noticed that "it" had some new gaffer tape on "it's" bumper. Hmmm... Went to berate the mechanic, who, very politely, informed me that that wasn't my "#@#@#&*- car", but it was, in fact a Citreon C4 Grand Picasso in the same shiny silver. I paid and left quickly...
I wouldn't touch a Citreon with a mile long barge pole, had one for my wife at the time back in the 90's and it wouldn't run without stalling, I took it to the dealers who said Citreon's are not made for the UK climate and there is nothing can be done.
XM 2.5 diesel wagon owner. Problems from the very start, with headlight washers never really working, radiators (2 of them) lasting no more than 6 months, and finally the engine stopping at a red light and never starting again. The dealership eventually had to buy it back from me since even the French "Technicians" they shipped in couldn't find the problem.
Ran diesel citroens and peugeots as taxis for many years, thousands of miles etc. biggest issue was the heaters were crap in the winter and the headlights crap all year round.....
I saw that on the first video, nearly made a comment but thought no I must be going mad. Bit of synchronicity going on. Another big cat misidentification Geoff,
Geoff buys glasses? I thought Geoff will see the Peugeot lion eventually. Let's be honest PSA Groupe cars have been interchangeable for some years. It's like calling a Rifter a Berlingo, same difference. I enjoy your videos, that's what's important.
Lol, this is why we love you Geoff. A genuine motoring guy. Do like your new car, enjoyed the video. I think the mis-badgering and the lost phone was due to your excellent and was great to watch.
I have had a 2009 807 Norwest Hdi 6 speed manual for over 5 years now. Fantastic load carrier and tow car, Take all the seats out, easy, and you have a van. Genuine key fob should have more buttons to operate sliding doors, front seats rotate and have storage below.
They are Both Stellantis anyway same company that use the same engines, people pay more for Peugeots for less buttons bells and whistles thats the only difference.
My comment on Mrs.G squealing in a certain position in the previous video did confirm I'd watched until the end...Wiz it to Kitch, UpnDown and rolling road it enroute to Farmers Dog Pub outing. All Pugs he's done seem to have above book BHP.. 🤔👍🇬🇧
"A test for the viewers" and Geoff 🤭 Yeah i didn't resignate with that ""given up on life" comment either , its what you make of it ☀️ Funny though, all professionals make goofy mistakes, part of the fun 💜
Haha. As I watched the video I thought it was just a slip of the tongue. Ie. You knew it was Peugeot but kept saying citreon. 😂Love old cars like this. Cheap but still perfectly usable.
You absolute fruitloop! I didn't notice either as I too, was quite excited about those sliding doors, etc. Looking forward to seeing many adventures with it. I'm almost tempted to go find myself one....
I don't know what Peugeot are like now, I was a tech in a dealership 30 years ago. Out of all the French cars they were pretty good. I still think the 306 hatch is a nice looking car.
Hilarious! French 7 seaters are brilliant when you have a young family as they can bring their friends along too. The only thing that trumps their practicality is their value for money. Downside is they are so fragile! No greater sense of adventure than not knowing if you'll make it back :)
With the state of everything thats coming to us this vehicle will be perfect for you and the family and its a diesel! a good one too! All the things you can change inside as standard i think it will be very useful for you Geoff.
I still prefer the looks of my old Espace, with the square headlights. Plenty of room inside, economical (and reliable) turbo diesel, and am all-round excellent truly "multi-purpose" vehicle!
Geoff, I edited my comments about it being a pug to avoid being accused of being a lunatic (cause I am *not* a car expert😂); I even paused and read the docs in your vid and saw, yes! They're the same car 😂 Mrs G your but is great, and good on you for entertaining Mr G's crazy adventures. I'm looking forward to hearing about the water filter! I'm sure you're the glue holding it all together in the background 💪😘😂
Best people carrier by far is a our 8 seater Nissan Elgrand 1997 Diesel Auto. Now on 160k still feels new . Soft close doors including side sliding door. AC zones front and rear Huge sunroof Walnut Luxury velour seats Rear seats fold to the sides to make a 5 seater with enormous luggage area. All seats fold flattish to put a mattress in for camping ❤
Pretty sure that brochure you pulled out of the glovebox had Kia on the front. Nevermind, just makes that video that bit funnier. Who knows where your new found sobriety will take you!
