Hey Henry. Over in the EP at port Lincoln we have had a bit of rain well more then you anyway but going up the EP people are starting to cut everything for hay because there is nothing to harvest. Hope you get rain and I think there is a bit coming around Friday.

So sorry to hear about your drought. I don’t know about anyone else but I have developed a high regard for your mechanical prowess. You take on a lot of scary mechanical jobs around the farm and seem to come up trumps every time. I’m not a mechanic but understand good work. Well done Henry. You have a great attitude towards adversity as well.

Yep the Wimmera is pretty ordinary as well, but probably two weeks behind you where I farm. As for the 1 in 100 don't believe it. I've been farming for 25 years and seen numerous 1 in 100 droughts, floods and end of year frost events. It makes me wonder who's the idiot that can't count too 100. Less crop more sheep is the hard lesson I've learnt.

Must be frustrating putting in all the hard work, and not get the right weather. At least those beans just may come to something despite it all. Do you have a crop insurance system in place?

Hi from Northern Country, VIC, about 15 km east of the Mallee. I have about 20 acres, doing Permaculture with hand tools but the lack of rain this winter is a reality here as well. The main dam is scarily low, about 25% full. It's usually half to 2/3 full this time of year. We're praying for rain.
