I have been very distant from church and God lately. It seemed like I was on fire for Him just a short 2 months ago. The enemy has really been disrupting me and my peace. Its been making sermons less appealing, and even scripture. I came across this sermon and had to really push myself to press play. I am so grateful I did, spiritual warfare is such a real thing. This message strengthened me in this dry season and I am so grateful for a God who has never left my side through it. Thank you Elevation church. God has more for me, the best has yet to come, and my story is not going to be cut short.

So raw and real....that God should have stopped the cancer...but it was not his story...pure anointing...he gets to the real stuff...sees it at our level and not as people would expect it to be told *as christians*..,and then gets us out if there...I can’t get enough of his preaching
I was not supposed to be here, but God Sometimes we get lost into the story and miss a bigger picture from God. When we label ourselves, we Limit ourselves. Most times we chose stories to tell ourselves and we dont have to chose every situation. Its not Devil's Story. Word! Amen
I was plucked out of the darkness and ascended toward the light and there the Lord stood in all his glory and he showed his Sacred Heart and I said child why do you see I love when I walked with you all the days of your life. I just stood there in awe like I was frozen in Time. It's no love on Earth that compares to the love And peace that I felt in his presence. As the light surrounded me he said I must go now and finish my story. Jesus said on to me that I will carry the light all the days of my life until I see him again. I'm going to something's in my story right now but my heart is on fire for our Lord and savior Amen
I was lost, broken, and alone.. then I was doubted, surrounded, and misunderstood, but God came to me when He didn’t have to and did what only He can do. He made me- a believer!
i had to pause this sermon so many times because of how much God was SPEAKING to me. I mean SPEAKING. I literally had my jaw open and just surprised and laughed to myself. Last night i was crying because of many personal stuff and the pain from it all. Moreover, i had someone leave my life 1.5 months ago, and i kept making it about me or them or filling in the story, I ended believing something was wrong with me last night but God was telling me its about them, not me. How I need to fix my stories. Thank you pastor steven and elevation church for this. I'm not even done with the sermon yet but i just had to comment. I now have a smile on my face as God continues to talk to me, plus i believe God is calling me to Chicago for grad school, and I was also thinking how hard it seemed to go from california to there. I was questioning if its the right thing. But as soon Pastor Steven said "This is so hard it must be God" , it hit me right in my feelings, thank you to Pastor steven and the church for blessing all of us with the sermons, and how he continues to preach, no matter the season. lots of love ♡

I completely agree! I cried at the end! I have put periods and filled in stories to cope with tremendous losses in my life. I have also replayed and relived the same stories! This message came with ALL the confirmation that I’ve needed for this year of confusion and pure heartbreak. God is so faithful to be for us even when we aren’t for our own selves 🙌🏾😊
Tears !! Sheesh !! Suffering majority for stories w/ holes & gaps I’ve created &told myself … lord this I needed this !! God has been w/ me in all things especially the hard ones … no matter how many times I go astray, grow distracted, detached, disconnected, doubtful … he has been here ever step of the way with unconditional love &undying grace. Justin I recently had to walk away from my parents not by choice but for my own peace and insanity and in the process I have learned that sometimes God needs to get us in a place of loneliness for us to realize all we need is Him. He is our friend our father he is ALL we will ever need. Continue to pray for your children and continue to praise God through this season remember change is good allow God to work not just in you but also in your children. In Gods timing all broken things will be restored and all relationships will be mended. Keep your faith Brother God is with you and seeing you through this. Much Love

But in that hard time, he experienced the "never leaving nor forsaking" closeness of God. He described it this way: "The Lord stood with me and gave me strength" (2 Timothy 4:17). I have no doubt that God is with you! Keep seeking Him. He has great plans for you!

This message was on time. I've spent the last two weeks complaining about my teenager being selfish. So when Pastor said he's not selfish, he's scared... It made sense. He's literally at 14 trying to do what he needs to in order to transition into adulthood. He's not selfish. He's scared. He still needs more of my help than I realized. Thank you Pastor for your obedience. Edit: Idk about anyone else reading this, but imo the hardest part of raising a teenager is hearing them constantly tell you they don't need you while simultaneously needing you. It's maddening.
Juat love on him.. Just love on them, your teenagers people... but never fail to remind them the good values in life. Maybe write them a letter about your own journey in your teenage life..❤
Wow pastor if I could be in that church during this sermon oh how I wouldn’t stop crying and shouting because this passage in fact almost every message you had in the last 2 weeks has been for me. I am going through a season of God removing people from my life at the moment and it was hard but I have been praying blessings into those relationships changing the story. Yes I’ve been through so much from a child to adult hood but God has seen me through each time. Today is my birthday and I am so blessed to know that 37 years ago he held me physically one last time in his arms before I left Heaven and 37 years later my Father still holds me in his arms 😍 this is my story and God is changing it for my good hallelujah
You can’t always choose ur situation but you can always choose ur story 👏🏽 You suffer enough with the situations life brings. Why make urself suffer more with the story you made up? 👏🏽
I love this, I usually call this selective memory. When I start thinking about how horrible my life is, how rotten my luck is, I remind myself that I'm I having selective memory. Which usually happens to us during the bad times. Then I fight hard to remember the goodness of God.
When you're still trying to live by faith and your Pastor sings a song your mom sang when you were little "Dear Liza Dear Liza" 🙌😭God is definitely talking to us through you. I'm going to fill my holes with faith. My mom also used to always say be nice Lisa be nice, which sounds bad. You're probably thinking I wasn't very nice, I was, she just wanted me to be nice all the time and not have moments when anger or judgement rise up. Funny, that it was a prequel for this walk, because that's the same thing Christ wants.
I'm struggling with addiction, and I know now that part of what keeps me stuck here is the story I tell myself. Thank you, Jesus and Pastor Furtick, for opening my eyes to that. Everytime I watch your sermons, I feel like He is speaking to me directly through you. It's amazing
I use to be an addict and I never thought I would be on the other side and here I am . Hang in there!! ❤️ with Jesus anything is possible , I promise if I can make it , you can ! Prayers to you !

That was such a POWERFUL teaching. It’s crazy how we can drift through days, months, years and decades believing the stories that someone has told us. Stories that feel like part of our DNA! Jeez! INSANE! Your friend’s story about cancer BROKE ME! Her faith! The way she chooses to see the blessing on the middle of a storm! I needed to hear that! Thank you so much for such an AMAZING teaching. WOW!! I feel so blessed hearing this message. There is second-smoke happening to me by a new neighbor. Its awful! I am praying so hard for this situation to rapidly change. Hearing this message, is a good daily reminder, its bigger than what I see. God is doing something BIG in this story and the whole is there. I can't wait to fill it in with his grace and miracle.
This preaching is so relevant now where the stories that we see or listen to discourage us of hope for the land. People losing hope from all the bad news around. But no story can stop us from believing GOD because we have a first hand hope from Him that we received in Christ!
