Being a vet tech of almost ten years and after having another hard week full of stress and heartache, this video was so touching it made me cry. Your so beautiful and one of my favorite RU-vidrs. A year ago now i rescued a 4 years old pitmix in a shelter. My life has changed so much since then. She is my first dog ever and i waitwd a long time to maje it possible/get ready. She came out suuuuper dog reactive wich is very hard to deal with but she has found her forever home and will stay with me until the end. I was prepared but not for that level of reactivity. So we worked hard and she is doing better (still super reactive bit she's a sweetheart). Rescues (and or reactive) dogs are amazing and loving flufballs that deserve love and cuddles 🥰

Adopting senior animals is extremely rewarding for both you the human and the animal. And senior dogs have so much love to give its insane. But also if you are someone who has mental health issues a senior animal typically has less energy so its not as overwhelming. Stephi is such a lovely human and I am so glad she isn't supporting breeders and giving this cute little guy a home!

THANK YOU for not only adopting but speaking out against buying from breeders as well. I work in rescue and to be honest we are overwhelmed right now. It's just so heartbreaking to see how many amazing dogs go without homes and some even having to be euthanized simply because some shelters and rescues don't have the room or financial support.

He'll live longer than five years! My little dog is 22. Dogs are everything and thank you and your dear mom for being such great promoters of animal adoption. Im sure Stumpy must have been traumatized losing his family, and then overwhelmed by the constant loud barking in the shelter all those months. Its so good you and those hot dykes built that fence.

I only rescue I have a lab American bulldog mix. He’s 130 pounds and we rescued him when he was 15 months old from an overcrowded shelter. And growing up I gave two elderly dogs a home one was blind and deaf and the other had neurological problems. I love you and your videos Steph thanks for giving your boys the best life❤️🐶.

We adopted 2 sisters from the same litter several years ago now, where we planned to just adopt one. Best decision ever. Of course, that comes with twice the medical expenses and food requirements. But, it never occurred to us they would keep each other busy, which really reduces the work load to the point it's really no more work than caring for one pup. Congrats to you and Stumpy; it seems like a good match.

i adopted Scrondo from a really really sad situation where he was mistreated , starved and neglected when he was 10. i knew he was not going to be with me for long , the second i opened my gate to him he Just knew , he was so loving ,sweet and greatfull. I Lost him last Summer at 14 . It hurt so frickin bad but he got to live his last 4 Years being loved and cared for , feeling safe and having a warm and comfy home . I honestly and truly believe he was a gift from the universe. Thank you for taking on an older dog 💜🌺

I have many dogs that I have gotten from a dog breeder that when he was finished breeding them he give them to me. I have had a total of ten. Each one was about 7 or 8 when I got them. So far, all of them have lived to be around 16 and 17 years. The last one I have left is now 18 and a half. She doesn't see very well, but she is a doll and still going strong. I think the love and care you give an animal really makes a difference in the amount of years they live. It is really wonderful that you did this for a little dog that felt he was abandoned. I know many older folks that don't realize that you have to make sure that someone will be able to take care of your pet if you are not able. I am 60 and I have a backup plan for my animals. They are like kids to me and I want to make sure they are looked after if something happens to me.

Awesome that you rescued rather than buying a pup, there are so many dogs in need of a loving home in shelters, both my dogs are rescues and have taken over our home but we wouldn't have it any other way!! Little Stumpy has a great loving home now and a new lease of life which is so awesome to see!

This brings me such joy. Stumpy looks truly happy now! It reminds me of when I adopted a dog at the Humane Society when I was a little girl. There was a dog that wasn't the most beautiful dog there but she literally wrapped her paws around me when she was in a cage. She wouldn't let me go. Her name was Penny. My mom wanted to keep looking to find a more beautiful dog but Penny would not let me go. I told my parents, "I want this one." My mother looked disappointed and said, "Are you sure?" We ended up taking Penny home and she was so excited she ran around the house like a maniac, just like Stumpy only faster. Lol Penny turned out to be the best dog my family ever had and she was loved by all. She was a mutt a German shepherd mix. Thank you for bringing back such a Happy memory for me! Stumpy has found a wonderful home:-)

Adopting is the absolute best❤️ These kids KNOW they have been saved and they show it. I have been a foster for rescue for 9 yrs and it’s such an amazing feeling to help these kiddos on their new and better life’s journey. It’s sad for our heart when they get adopted and leave us but it is also a wonderful feeling to know that you were apart of saving their life and now another kid can be saved as you watch your adopted kid thrive in their furever home. I think you Stephi Lee would be an amazing foster Mama for rescue😉 Rescue’s usually pay for everything and all you have to provide is a temporary safe and loving home. Stumpy looks like he is the perfect fit and Ollie is the sweetest and bestest boi ever and so is his Mama.

I just LOVE Stumpy, he’s a perfect fit in the family, just what was needed. Maybe you’ll give him a more endearing name. I’ve adopted several older animals, dogs and cats mostly, and they were all wonderful, bonded to me as if they never knew anyone else. The house looks so pretty. Make sure you ALWAYS lock your doors and windows, stay safe. Looking forward to seeing the mural when it’s done.
