My opinion on the ending is that Ayre says "entering combat mode" at the very end and that made me think "aw fuck I'm gonna get jumped by everyone I killed" but this is just my opinion

The Overseers do have evidence of Coral causing such disasters, and they naturally congregate together, it’s not like only Humanity can bring it all into one place. Walter may lie to you in the beginning of the Game, but you can see how his guise of being cold and uncaring isn’t exactly his true personality, he genuinely does care for you and even lowers his Oscillator at the end of the Liberator of Rubicon route - seeing that you found a friend.
the thing that makes all ending bitter sweet is no matter what you choose, someone looses. For example, if you choose the fires of raven ending you leave the planet dead, in the logs it says rubiconians depend on the coral to grow mealworms and without them they will die, in fact because the corporations are taking nearly all the coral they were starving and now that there is no coral their fate is sealed. And nobody neither walter or carla seem to care at all about them, Its all for a ''greater good'' but most of that ''greater good'' is based arround fear of the unknown, fear of what could happen or what could not and that fear can lead to many terrible things. And i do feel for Ayre, at the end is all about the survival of her kind of the total annihilation, i mean if we were on her should would we be like ''yea you can kill us, no problem''?. Now if we take the real ending, we find out the allmind has been manipulating this entire conflict for its own gain, and if we choose its path it will start a massive genocide on all factions including the liberation front who just want to live just like ayre wants for her kind, she should feel empathy towards them and yet she shows no reaction to the allmind exterminating them like she does not cares. And then the liberator of rubicon, it could be a perfect ending but the problem is nothing truly ends, the allmind is still active, free to keep manipulating all factions in the shadows and resume the conflict, her plan is just postponed. On all endings nobody other than ayre gets to know our real intentions behind our choises. If we betray carla she thinks we did it for the money, if we betray rusty he thinks we did it because we only want to loot rubicon like the corporations, if we betray walter he thinks we did it because we went insane. Nobody got to know about the truth of the coral, the truth of ayre, the truth about the symbiosis, the truth of the allmind. Now what if we had told everyone all those truths before the final decisions? do you think ayre, carla, rusty, walter and all the factions could have taken a diferent choise? a global aliance againts the allmind? a diferent approach to the coral and the symbiosis?

AC6 is a game where you roleplay as your average paranoid schizophrenic AC pilot who listens to their totally real brain-wife. I love it and i simp for my waifu.
I really liked Ayre's character, you can feel her loneliness when she talk to you, finally finding someone to talk with and share projects. It is nice to see a reminding to Emma from Sekiro (i didn't play any AC games before six). It really seems she grow really fond of you across the game and if you go against her, like Emma, she is not angry but dissapointed/having grief (crying as the ost) and hate herself for having times with a person who will destroy everything she fights for. It was heart wrecking to fight her... Between the lines about being alone together, having missions and the goddamn moment where she imitates ALLMind. It's cute and it's interesting in a settings of war, death and manipulation. She is there for you but she has her own ambitions, to protect the rubiconians and the Coral however still pushing you to do what you want. But as you said about the shared dream, there is things in the background being said between the two. Even if you ignored all her requests, 621 seems to at some point agreed. And yeah, "casting the die" is definitly going into the unknwon; the point of no return... We will see if there is a follow game to this one. At least, we are in complete symbiosis with best waifu.
Even if there is no real way to tell what exactly happened to you at the end of true ending, it does open up to a new possibility of true hopeful symbiosis between human and coral as the coral spreads to the whole universe.
My theory is that the game is an ALLMIND simulation, constantly looping as it tries to find the perfect coral-human symbiosis. Proof of this is the fact that new choices are unlocked each loop, and the new game++ experience requires you to have beat each ending before hand, AND to have completed the arena. The one key factor is that in the true ending route, ALLMIND knows what happens in the other routes, and warns you. The only way they could know is if A: This happened before or B: If Snail told ALLMIND his plan.
Honestly, other than how many people I liked taking a trip to the afterlife, I like the Liberator ending the most because I'm not deciding for everyone else. I can take a jump in the Coral all I like, but it does feel rude to drown everyone else in it as well and burning an entire intelligent species is a bit of a faux pas.
My first playthrough, I weighed my options for some time. I really liked Ayre, pretty much from the start. But the inherent fear of the unknown, and being it's a FromSoft game, there was a decent chance she might betray me. She says herself, at least once if not twice, she chose to trust us. So I chose to trust her. And what I got was one of the best conclusions to a story since NieR Automata. On my second playthrough I did the other ending for the achievement and I hated everything about it. Then I got to the end of NG++ and... It felt very out of place, Skynet is the big bad, Crimson 1 is the final boss, and then a black hole ejects us to some other part of the universe or something. It was just very strange to me, but the more I thought about it, read other interpretations, the more I understood. Ultimately I prefer the Liberator ending, it's narrative perfection to me. But to answer the question in your title; yeah. I'd cast that die. I don't know what's in the new world, but we'll find out, together.
What really excites me is how, by examining the story and themes of this game, we can look back on certain mysteries in Elden Ring with greater understanding. The relationship between Ayre and Raven reminds me of Melina and the Tarnished, and their symbiosis of spirit and body in one being. This is also an echo of Radagon becoming one with Marika, and in doing so, ascending to godhood. It's much too early for me to draw any conclusions from this, as I need to put many more hours into AC6, but even now I can see the pieces slowly coming together in this grand Fromsoftware metanarrative.
Wow, I find that rather surprising! Especially since I think AC6 and ER share no palpable common themes. For example, it's been 1.5 years and the lore community is still more or less on the fence about blaming Marika for "everything bad" that happened, so to speak. I think this exemplifies how much more impenetrable the intentions of core figures in ER were relative to AC6.
I had a crackshot theory that the symbiosis represents the coexistence of armored core with whatever else from soft makes. (The coral in this case being the souls games & onwards) it’s ridiculous on paper, but hear me out: -Ayre is obviously the game’s stand in for a “maiden”, there’s no real deeper meaning behind it tho. -Coral, at least according to a big armored core fan i asked, is said to be by far the most fantastical element in the entire AC franchise which is mostly straight-forward science fiction. And is also responsible for alot of the game’s most “fromsoft” boss fights like the ice worm & other C. Weapons. With the whole rekindling of fire theme too, I’d argue Coral brings the dark souls to AC6 more than the heightened mobility and lock on. -The coral itself consists of the leftovers of the past civilization, this is definitely kind of dramatic, but if the rubriconians in my stupid metaphor are the AC devs or fans, you can literally say they’ve been swept away for decades to contribute to other games. That they made a discovery so profound, it changed EVERYTHING moving forward. -The corps fighting over Rubicon’s coral can represent other literal game companies going to war to try to overthrow or compete with fromsoft’s impact on the video game industry. -Dark Souls 3 was literally a metaphor for series stagnation and moving on to new games, this theory is not exactly covering entirely new ground for this company. The only real fault in this theory is that idk what exactly overseer would be here… I guess they’re just…. Really really big AC fans? Lol idk

I mean that's what ALLMIND is trying to do in NG++. Instead, Ayre and 621 would rather the Coral be spread and independent. Which could be both good and bad since we don't know if all Coral entities are as earnest as Ayre. Some of them may be straight up evil and form a symbiosis with the biggest corporate douchebag in the galaxy. We'll never know. 621 and Ayre will have to deal with that as they come.

Back to Fiona & the other operators. I actually didn't care about any of them. My focus was on the AC's, customization, gameplay, etc. 3, SL & Nexus being my favorites. Never really cared about the stories either. But getting into 6, we actually have several cutscenes & the story/plot is in your face unlike the others. It forces you to care & actually learn it which it successfully does. Now getting into Ayre. I fell for her slowly & once she calls you Raven, that was the moment I truly fell in love. It's not only a callback to previous games since we were Ravens, but we haven't been called Raven since Last Raven. For AC Vets like me most likely smiled ear to ear. The only time Walter says Raven is after the helicopter boss & I felt, YES! AC IS BACK. Then you're back to being 621. I HATE that. I got the good ending my 1st playthrough. I was like, you know I'm siding with Ayre at all costs. She actually calls us Raven, she cares about us, she helps us, she's open, etc. & now I realize I have to betray her on my 2nd playthrough 😭
@@Spino-hx2mr No one doomed the universe. Bunch of scientists decided that Coral is something dangerous and better to burn it all instead of releasing it into the universe. But that is just fear of unknown speaking, confirmation bias is a real thing even in science. Coral is 2 sides of one coin. It represents humanity's drive for progress and discovery, but at the same time fear of unknown. Coral is neither good or bad. It is what ever you make it be. You can fear it and destroy it. Along side with planet full of humans. Just because you fear what might happen. Or you cast a die and see what will happen. Potentially saving a whole planet, a new specie of intelligent beings and evolution to something else. Both equally hard things to choose. Both end with great amount of casualties. Whole story is a tragedy to be honest.
I think Ayre is just the Coral Hivemind gaining consciousness. She *is* the Coral, ALL of the Coral, for all intents and purposes. Her "brothers and sisters" are just other parts of the hivemind. Once she has spread across the stars, and bonded with all living things...the hopeful implication is that "all the lights in the sky are our friends." Red is often associated with the color of "enemies" in the context of games like Armored Core. But maybe in this case, it just means the color of familiarity, of intimacy. Of love. One can hope. And in any case, she had me at "studmuffin." 😏
Ayre just wanted consensual unprotected handholding but since she doesn't have a body she probably just end up concluding that you should join her in the coral tide instead. In conclusions, Ayre is indeed waifu material.

@@absurd.gaming Meh, if she didn't already then the time afterwards likely did You know this game is ironically not nearly as dark as other games in the series. FA, 5 and VD were bleak as hell, LR capped its timeline off with the burned world and 2AA had a peaceful end sort of.
She does outright say that she really enjoys her time with you without Walter, she’s very fond of you and during her fight she says: “We could have walked, together” almost like saying: “We could have been together if you didnt do this..”
Ending C is the best and good ending. It means that there is a new form of transformation. Human, Human Plust, Lynx psychics, Augmented Human and then now, Coral Plus. I want to believe that the player got their body since Walter mentions to undo the augmentation surgery and find freedom. Allmind paved the path to godhood and this made the player into a being with a human body without the limits of a mortal. And then I want to believe that Ayre and Coral Release involves time control / manipulation because when fighting Ayre, she is fast. This is why the player is using a basic AC. Ayre's last line in Ending C is a message of love. They will eliminate all threats. Since coral attract conflicts, they will protect the world from imperfect humans filled only with greed. They have finally found a world where they belong. A world without lies, deception and betrayals. Also I believe that Allmind is Seria who sided with humans. While Ayre is a supporter of both humans and coral. Or maybe the player just turned into a golden retriever.
I'm somewhat curious how the JP community views Ayre. The idea I got from some clips is that Ayre sounds much more gender ambiguous in JP (similar to how some young male character are voiced by women in anime), making it a bit more difficult to immediately envision her as an adult feminine figure as we seem to have done in the west. Why is this relevant? Because if Ayre is as stripped down of typical human elements as 621 is (hardly an actual person), then their friendship more quickly adopts the fundamental undertones of the basic concepts of liberation and transformation. This may sound counterintuitive, since we consider "struggling" one of the most personal of all life's elements, but that's actually somewhat redundant, since everyone within that system is automatically a good example of it. Ayre and 621 become "humanized" together (at an unknown cost, to be sure), which I think can be put more aptly as "proto-benevolently sentient", since Coral appears to undermine humanity as fundamental to the expression of these characteristics. I do think the devs played a bit with the waifu trope, but I'm actually surprised how paper-thin it is in the grander scheme of AC6.
Yeah I totally get it. I made a point to mention how nothing is specifically romantic about Ayre, despite From's history of romantic operators in AC. Ayre breaks from tradition in some new and challenging ways.

I honestly think this could be a great game for dlc. Missions are nice and simple to add in as you can reuse a lot of the aces that you didn’t fight in the arena. You can add more parts ect. I don’t think it should do anything after an ending though.
Wanna know more about the lore of Coral and Ayre. Does coral gears using coral (Ayre's brothers and sisters) as fuels and killing them, if so. Does Ayre(Boss version) using herself as fuels( killing herself) to stop 621? I think this is some interesting theory or lore to know.
For the part when we made first contact with her, it is obviously the coral being not other human and because you can see the coral fly like flock like they said it us implies that they are a living thing

Time to die, maggots! 😂 Michigan is a funny character. They gave him this intimidating drill seargent personality, but also tried to make him likeable. He puts down his own men for insulting you, taunts them for being defeated by you, compliments Rusty, his attitude is so far over the top it's played for humor... I am a little surprised there isn't a grudge ending where the last vestiges of Balam work with you to destroy the Vascular Plant, just to deny Arquebus the win. Maybe some remaining Redgun could have come around at the end of Reach the Coral Convergence to prevent you from being captured, and then convined you to destroy the invaders to restore the status quo.
Both initial endings are heartbreaking to playthrough. I can't stand the idea of betraying Carla and Walter when they just rescued us literally 1 mission before. In the other ending we have to fight both Ayre and Rusty whom both we grew affection towards.

I think it's actually the theme of symbiosis. She lives in our brain, our brain was "made" to pilot the ACs. By her proximity to our brain data, she could have learned the piloting of ACs from us.

you forgot one thing that's very important, in the NG++ ending, Iguazu mentions that she's the voice he's been hearing all this time, so i'm not sure about the romantic feelings, she seems like she didn't want to put all her eggs in one basket. meaning that she doesn't really "care" about us, maybe it changes a bit when she see how competent we are but even then we've just been a means to an end for her and besides, manipulation doesn't always come through domination. we already saw that in master of arena with the antagonist manipulating us through a "caring" operator...also, it seems pretty clear that she was an AC pilot. because, even if Coral ACs feels like a "body" for her, it's not enough to efficiently fight against experienced mercenaries like us.
Good points. I spent a while considering whether or not Ayre was using us. I didn't find enough strong evidence to not give her the benefit of the doubt. Her and Seria do seem pretty pushy though at times.
@@absurd.gaming The only reason I would disagree with the theory that the voice that Iguazu hears is the "same person" , being Father Dolmayan and Handler Walter. Dolmayan also hears a voice, and his logs he mentions hearing a voice from the Coral (also a woman's voice), however he doesn't call her Ayre, he calls her Seria. In addition there's Walter, who in the good ending, mentions "that voice...I see it...next to you.", and "you found...a friend." (obviously mentioning Ayre, not by name, but that he does "see" her, which would make sense, considering the AC he was piloting in that ending.) So either Ayre ACTUALLY is the same person as the voice that Iguazu and Dolmayan hears and is just EXTREMELY manipulative...OR Iguazu was just unhinged (which I believe) and didn't make that connection, and that all the voices that the people that made contact with the voices heard, were all different Coral beings...I lean towards the latter on that one, but that's just me. Edit: Thinking about it bit more, there is a possibility that the voice Iguazu hears is Ayre, after all, C4-621 and Iguazu were of the same generation of the Coral Human Augmentation program, and considering Walter "saw/heard" her when piloting the Hal AC (The Coral AC), it is very possible that the voice he heard was Ayre, which lends credence to the idea that two separate people can "hear" the same Coral Wave mutation, just not in the way some may think. But I do stand by the idea that the voice Iguazu and Dolmayan hears, are different Coral wave mutation entities entirely.

Heck, the fact that the coral "flocks" to the densest group of coral, like a bird colony, lends credence to the idea that the coral are living things, like animals, or people. But who knows...

So he hates you because she’s always saying raven and stuff, waking him up in the middle of the night or “taunting” him during your duels or whatever. That being said I agree that he’s most likely just being dumb and doesn’t realize the coral voices all sound similar or something like that.
I know this is probably gonna sound bad but this is kinda more evidence for the fires ending. If you stuck dealing with all these augmentation and living in pain with a fried brain, you'd be ready to burn it all too
I feel like, on some level, Ayre making contact actually goes a way towards fixing the brain damage. Coral's a data conduit, and she essentially takes form as an abnormal brainwave It's entirely possible that her presence saturates our brains with coral to replace the damaged nerves and restore bodily function to a degree. Walter did mention that we "Mentioned hearing a voice", so at the minimum we did speak to him
@Heedfulconch3 he also said it's a common side effect. I see the whole thing through the lense of a used up vet. I'm a vet myself but I was just a no body POG, some of the guys I've seen weren't so lucky. Maybe she's a friend, maybe she's not. Maybe she's just using us like everyone else to serve her own interests, a means to an end. Us as the player character don't have a voice of our own, we don't get to make that choice. We are voiceless for a reason. Fires of the raven is really Walter's ending, liberator is rusty's, and finally the die is cast is Ayres ending. 621 doesn't have an ending, we never know what the main motivation was for being there in the first place. We just know we're there
@@thomaswilson8022in this case i feel like we are supposed to be 621 even more than the player is supposed to be Link in Zelda. In zelda, link is silent so we imprint on him, but he is still his own person. Where as with 621 i think we are just supposed to be 621, so those endings are as much ours as they are our friends.
I'm now very confused about the ending and the coral stuff. Are you saying that Ayere is a human who was absorbed by the coral after the fires of Ibis? And in the ending of the Coral release are the pilots turned coral like Ayere (with no body)? Or are they still human that now has a stronger connection with the coral? I saw few people saying that the game explicitly mentions that Ayere was never a human but idk so please clarify......or is everything you said just made up theories that aren't 100% confirmed, no offense
Unpopular opinion but I don't really care for Ayre, I always felt like she was being subtly manipulative. I don't really care for the coral either, ultimately I chose to preserve Walter's dream because it made the most sense to me
I found ayre to be quite irritating and wished shed shut up more during my play through. And my only reason to siding with her is because i care about rusty.
Everybody relates AC6 to Evangelion but I haven't heard one peep about the connections to Eureka Seven lol. I mean cmon in that one the main guy falls in love with the coral lady too. Also a good anime, I need to rewatch it
the thing with true ending is, Ayre is most likely changed & become different entity at the time we aren't present. it's most likely that she merged with so many coral, becoming one entity & being a hive mind kind of things. even scarier, she activated combat mode at the very end, which we don't really need to move when we aren't in combat. there is something unsettling about that ending, like she's fighting something to archive greather things. . i prefer much with liberator ending, even though we betray our friend walters & carla's that aren't really wrong either for being scarred of unknown future. we also give some time to search better solution rather than letting coral go uncontrolable throught out the universe. like you already know that, someone or something which so much power will most likely to abuse it even if they didn't feel that way. . i kinda scarred that our conseciusness can be back up & multiplied over n over again for battle, like we're the best pilot this world has to offer. there is possibility Ayre using us for battle machine to colonize & spread coral even further. you always needed combatant since there is always be survivor that trying to resist change like Liberation group. it's kinda seems that way since we wake up in different mech and only us that capable to form symbiosis with Ayre since we're the only one make contact with her. . it's eldritch ending with soo many possibility we dont understant
Can we even move combat AC's ourselves outside of combat mode? Like when the autopilot took us out of the watchpoint it immediately switched to combat mode the moment we woke up

My point of view on Ayre's dream (the Coral Release) is more of a horror thing. Coral Release wants humanity to depart from their physical bodies to become some kind of "energy being" across the universe. That is transhumanism at it's finest. You have this cute and caring voice in your head telling you to press the button and end civilization as we know it. And that is terryfing.
Nah, fuck Ayre. She wanted me to kill Carla and Betray Walter. I would say I could never but I begrudgingly did it in NG+. That hurt. Walter is my boi. However Rusty is that guy and I enjoyed fighting with him in the end
She asked that you prevent the planet and as it would be, other stars from being burned on top of humans and the survival of her own people and that's wrong? You didn't betray Walter either, he even gave up once he realized Ayre was real and that Coral was sentient. OVERSEER is a glorified, misguided death cult.
I mean that’s one way to look at it and sure it’s true but it’s more she wants to you to spare a sentient species, her brethren. Walter and Carla are incidental. Is two lives worth an entire species? I think not. Walter and Carla’s goals are understandable but misguided and uninformed

It more so do I cause a small fires of Ibis in order to avoid any further disaster that may come with Coral being exploited which would likely come at the cost of the lives of a lot of Rubiconians anyway? Or do I risk letting the Coral remain and be abused in the future?
@@SaberT137Anything is possible with Coral becoming sentient and mutating further. Did we destroy our own planet because Uranium was a very dangerous resource to put to use with how our initial methods to obtain and use it were?
The game says it self that setting the dye is bad for humanity, so this is an extra bad ending for humanity aka us. There is 2 bad endings and 1 good one
Not necessarily. It specifies that the Coral is perfectly capable of making genuine symbiosis with Humanity, in a way that can augment both and allow for an ascension of sorts. People are just kinda scared that it'd reduce Humanity in some way. While that is entirely valid to look at, slaughtering billions of people and an entire species to avoid that isn't exactly kosher I mean, our character is proof enough that the symbiosis is entirely possible. Full on symbiosis would probably just involve Contact made with everyone on Rubicon

@@oratankclearly you misinterpreted tha, tell me when you come back from missions what does the com ao say……….”engaging standard mode” which means raven is locked in place his freedom is taken away from him. Now the only times he can move and have the freedom to act is when combat mode is activated, this is why ayre at the end active combat mode so raven and her can move forward onto they’re next journey together which she literally says her self. Plus I just wanted to add that in the coral release ending ayre fully integrates with the ac, replacing the com ai which is why she say the activation line instead of com.
