After soaking it you should flush the toilet with the brush in it so you can't get rid of any loose particles in the brush. Than tap the brush and let it air dry
If I could let it soak in the toilet for an hour that would be great but I live with someone who's constantly using the bathroom (GI issues) so this is not realistic in those cases
Do what I do and periodically bleach the brush in the holder...magically everything disappears and you can just pour the offending liquid in the toilet job done..... I found this just experimenting because the missus wanted to bin it and I hate plastic waste 😂
@@MrTripleXXXunless I'm crazy you can add water to the bowl to bring the water level higher than normal, it should mostly stay there until the next time you flush
I just had the idea yesterday to spray some all-purpose cleaner in the holder and scrub it with the toilet brush. Worked like a charm! Then I filled it up about halfway with the cleaner and now I can just grab the brush and swish it in the toilet for light cleanings to prevent nasty buildup! Easy for lazy cleaners like me!
@@WhirledPeasFursure if you live with someone who has GI issues though then you'll be buying brushes every day cuz it's not always about not cleaning enough or well enough
NEVER do this IF you have a septic system,, bleach can be horrible for your septic system.. "How much is too much bleach? According to a study done by Mark Gross 1.85 gallons of bleach is enough to cause a complete bacteria “die-off.” This is a complete failure of your septic system. A failing system can result in public health and pollution issues., as well as costly repairs.Nov 6, 2015"---Google
Yep toilet brushes are narsty put bleach by them and they go narsty I have a fab idea dishwasher brushes are so cheap wilko were doing them for 40p but stopped so I rang my iron monger who is stock taking during lock down he sells them for 50p so collecting 6 now if I use one a fortnight dump it 2 a month only a £1 a month not have the narsty things in my bathroom come on a £1 a month for toilet Aldi toilet gel blue one is fantastic. Stop any smell from loo pop a drop of bleach in first no smell what so ever. We're ever I go hotels the lot always carry a bottle of bleach with me save any embarrassing 😆😆😆😉
Good idea but are they plastic brushes? You're better off bleaching the toilet brush in the toilet brush holder (or an old bucket). Leave it an hour or so and it will be sparkling! Then pour the offending but weirdly clean liquid down the loo job done. No more buying brushes.
I have tenants who have just moved out and the toilet brush is part of a nice set so I don't want to throw it out, but it is GROSS. I will just throw a bucket of bleach in the toilet and chuck it in
@@weshouldsaveourselves6780 Yes and it degrades the plastic over time. These things are disposable *with* bleach. You can choose to continue with it yourself but it's pretty damn cheap to not replace a disgusting brush for a tenant who would be unaware
@@poinai the op said it was a nice set. If the toilet brush is quite expensive then replacing it could be a lot of money. Me personally I would replace it and buy another mid ranged one. Just for peace of mind but if someone uses bleach then I wouldn't judge them. Hotels don't replace toilet brushes after every guest. Bleach is pretty good I must say. Quite toxic though so be careful
