BTW Guys, I did put the baffles back into the end cans, and it seemed to cure the bog down I mentioned in the video, so obviously it was just a back pressure issue caused by me taking them out :)
Only just discovered your channel hence late comments. Guess you may no longer own the z? I bought a stock 2015 model with panniers 6 months ago and toured Spain pre lock down in February and use as my main commuter bike. Absolutely love it despite the fact I normally prefer twins and triples love the smooth 4 pot engine and she looks stunning. Cheers
I have a 2014 and do approx 10k KM per year touring here in Australia. Rev's should be approx 4500 @ 110 kph (70mph ish) so check the sprockets to make sure they are stock spec (15T front 41T Rear. You can change the ratio to lower rev's from stock on the highway but I think it would be too much when you hit the twisties. For a better all year round screen look at National Cycle in the USA. I fitted the V Stream N20105 and it is perfect for me at 5'7". They do a taller version as well and they aren't hard to change for trips.
I just have normal bike insurance, it does get a bit expensive changing bikes all the time as I do, sometimes it costs £20, sometimes £50! It all depends if your going up or down on value really :)
Great vid.. I’ve had an st 1050 which I regretted selling..am now on a kwak er6f but it just feels like a moped next to the triumph!.. I’m looking at the z1000sx and am torn between the 1st and 2nd gen and whether it’s worth paying the extra grand or so for a 2014 over a 2011/2012 bike? Have to say tho they are sexy looking machines
A lot of bike for the money. Great vid. Having ridden a Sprint ST for 7 years before moving on I'd be interested to know whether you think the performance is stronger and handling better in this.
I feel this bike has a power advantage over the Sprint for sure, and it feels very light through the corners, but as I didn't have the luggage it's hard to say how they compare fully loaded. The only thing for me is that the in-line 4 obviously revs far higher than the Sprint ST, and I personally prefer the 1050 engine :)
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Ha ha, I was most put out, I mean, I live in Aberdeen and thought, typical, someone from the South disregarding over 50% of Britain. Love Cornwall by the way. 😊
Will certainly be a LOT more fun than the R1200GS . I have a video on the GS on the channel too, plus an updated review on another GS coming in the next few weeks, so stay tuned 😁
I think those kinda of KM is too much for most bikes! (even a BMW 1200GS) it would have to be super cheap to even consider it. It's obviously been used for touring so that's a plus, but you need to see servicing for everything, including a new clutch I would think ;)
Rally has always been popular in Scandinavia. Build em in the winter, break em in the summer, rinse and repeat! You have to check out Formula Offroad also!
Honestly I'd at least get 2014 for better pannier integration and electronics Do agree about the scratched yoke, that just drives me mad. And I feel exactly the same about the aftermarket heated grips...
hi bud , see its a mk1 like I bought from new £9.995 ouch and I got the full set of panniers which I had to wait for as none in the country , the mk2 was better with more controls all in they do ride well
The only reason I didn't do that was simply the fear of waiting around for the transfer to go through lol. But yes I agree that would have been a much safer option, and will be doing that next time for sure ;)
