Took me a while to find the specific verse I remember this was in the A side of music to be murdered by but I should have known it was in a song called no regrets. I finally found the line in the second verse. I'm with you. I was on them for over 18 yrs. I've watched friends use and use harder substances, and I've lost more than I care to say. It's a tough subject, especially when you've experienced it first hand. The high of the emotion and the adrenaline or depression/anxiety I should say from the fall. You only know if you have been thru it and lived to tell. I was definitely lucky I was able to pull out of that life in time. Now I have 2 major blessings and reasons to stay away and keep my distance from that life and side of me. They're my heart and the major reason I'm still clean and sober today. Stay strong and know that no matter what, you're stronger than those demons will ever be!!

I was watching in the live, crying my eyes out and again here I am..... crying. Phenomenal writing. I've got 11 years clean and lost my sister to an accidentaI overdose 9 yrs ago and I know it could have easily have been me. One of the realest songs I've ever heard. This song overwhelms me with so much emotion. You can hear the conviction in his voice. Great reaction as always. Much love, guys. Proud of you! ❤

The sample in the 2nd song is 'The Rose" sung by Bette Midler... hence "A Rose"... "Arose"... but its about him arising after his near miss with death. Dude cant even help himself with the wordplay even in track titles. Also... if you didnt know...Doody he was singing about is Proof. And yes, the bulk of Arose is as if he did die... a line near the end..."the last 4 minutes that is the song i would have sung to my daughters if i had made it to the hospital less than 2 hours later".

We all had that reaction when we first heard it. It’s why people in the chat were saying to others to not ruin it. It’s a powerful song. Not just because it’s Em. It’s that, while he’s rapping about this moment in his life, and about people we all know as fans because of his music…in a way, it reminds us of our lives as well. The ups, downs, wins and losses. At least that’s what it did for me. You ain’t no bitch, Flawd. You just can appreciate life thru art.

Both of you guys, just seeing the raw emotion and feeling toward a subject I myself have experienced thru trials of my own, and friends, scratch that, family that didn't make it thru. You two are my favorite, hands down. This is a hard song to listen to, and you did it justice. I know I cried the first time I heard it; the rawness of the concept, the delivery, the lines. Everything was about perfect. I never struggled with the addiction side of it, for me it was the parent lines as I just had a son at the time. I will have 3 years sober in March. I was smoking fentanyl everyday for 4 years and that is after I was snorting oxys for 5. I died once and can still remember the after life. I will never go back to putting myself and my family through that. Great reaction. Glad to hear you made it past your addiction also.
