In a world where everyone is asking how to live a good life, we can find ourselves awash in different practices and exercises. This can lead to us feeling very critical of ourselves when we don't follow our latest commitment. It can also lead to us projecting this shame onto others as we try to fix the world around us to sooth our inner conflicts. This at the extreme is the religious zelot, but there are many shades to this character.
I believe it is very important for us to see all of these practices as different languages all pointing towards something good. I still follow John Vervaeke's concept of an ecology of practices, so I don't want to confuse you, different practices offer different lenses to see the world with. But understanding that the practices are a map and not the territory is essential for avoiding any future dogmatic trends.
I hope this reaches you well.
As alway, I invite you to join the dialogos practice where we discuss how virtues feel, appear, affect, stack, etc.
Why do I say the virtues?
Let's use an example;
"Do you aim to bring some justice into the world?"
"Has Justice existed before you? Will it continue to exist after you?"
"Is Justice developing and growing on this cosmic timeline? Do you want to contribute no matter how small?"
*Now do the same with Authenticity, Compassion, assertiveness, etc.*
This is the path to finding a reason to live and to truly live that is bigger than any one life. This is the escape from the meaning crisis, and the welcome into a world that doesn't have all the answers, but has all the energy to find the answers
If you're interested in finding out about the workshops I organize, I'd first ask you to watch my recent video going through my course that introduces you to a few tools that are very useful in navigating in the workshops (but also great for navigating in life)
link for the course;
t.me/+Vmu5Xr7K...
I'm offering it on telegram for the moment.
It's over an hour in length, but divided between 8 episodes. Each one explores a different tool for navigating difficult conversations.
All episodes will be replaced in time, so I'd love to get feedback for where it's at.
Let me know what you think, both as it applies to your dialogos practice, but also if it helps you outside the practice, I think the tools will shine wherever you aim them
If you're interested in participating in a dialogos practice with myself and the growing group, contact me with your email, and I will send out some prep material going through the practices, and a link for the next session. They are held every week (usually on a Wednesday), and novice practices will be organized for people new to the practice to welcome them in and familiarize them with the space.

I hope to see you there, and as always, don't forget to breath, look around, and say thanks.
