Oh man... I watched you're wife's video Bryan; now your's. Thank you both, you're inspirational! I don't know if there is anything like a 'Workers Affairs' for broken workers that sufferer from complex PTSD as a result of a traumatic work experience, but Im so glad that there is VA for you honourable folk. I've recently had Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) injections and am very much enjoying the benefits... I haven't had a single terrifying nightmare since, and can actually cope with sirens and alarms and loud noises and visions of danger to people a lot better. I reckon all PTSD sufferers should have SGB available!

It's so very important for our veterans to realize that there are so many resources available to help them. But even more importantly, for the rest of us to try to understand what they are going through, watch out for them and help them if necessary.

Whatever you did, you have tried your best. We were thrown into a lot of evil things, but we served with honor, we did what we could in a very bad situation. It is not your fault. You did not decide these things. Uou, as I, served. That's it. It is now time to let go and recover. God speed to you. Be good to yourself.

I am still unable to laugh after six years as a civilian and 30 years of service in the Army. I do continue to go to counseling (currently doing EMDR therapy). But while I still am unable to laugh, I will continue with the counseling and look forward to the day I am able to seriously LOL. Thanks for the video - it resonates.

It is difficult to imagine 30 years - a career - in the Army. I was a complete nervous "nilly" during the Draft when I was a senior in college, not a man's man either, but just afraid of what horrible things would happen to me during military service, and that was years before anything was known about PTSD. Fortunately, I had fall weed allergies very badly, had to take oral medications AND shots twice a week for three months every fall. At my draft physical, they decided against me serving (by observing me) because I would give our troops away to the Vietnamese by sneezing and coughing incessantly. I have felt guilty all these years (I'm now 73) for not being able to serve the USA in the Military. I sincerely hope that your counseling therapy will bring you to a place where something will trigger a new ability for you to be able to smile and then laugh. GOD'S BLESSINGS. ~ Dale the Wheezing Sneezer

I've never been in the military. I avoided it because I have been suffering from PTSD since I was 8 years old. My brother shot me with a 0.32 caliber pistol through my chest. All my grandfathers were soldiers in WWII. My father was a Marine. He never saw combat. He was very abusive physically and mentally to me and my younger brother growing up. In 2002 he murdered my son's mom. I have had 30 different jobs. I continually have angry outbursts some of them violent in the past at work. I am now petrified of growing old and alone.

Thank you so much for sharing. The good news is you can survive PTSD & be even better than before. A study has shown a difference in gender. Men that overcome, are better communicators than their male peers. Women are more assertive than female peers that never had it. Recover and enjoy life. There is hope. There is health and happiness. It takes work but it's worth it. Encourage everyone you know that has it. Reaffirm and help restore lost ideals.

I know what you mean guy I have been thru this! It takes time to quit fighting. Stick with the VA and get closer to God thru faith in Jesus. You will make it man! If you were drafted I can more understand but if you enlisted WTF can you condemn--you or the the military--NO! Try to find some balance. Life is a trip we all make and if you can't deal with it you are sick and need help! Good Luck Buddy

I lost it all and everyone thinks I'm crazy drinking helps me relax but led to dui a few months ago, I slept with a weapon for a few months in my room in the dark in my thoughts thinking I should do it. I can put all this info down on RU-vid like going down around a off ramp at 80 in a 45 off savannah bridge and spinning out i was calm not afraid at all while my a rider screamed like a girl I'm smiling but it now smh I'm finally going to start the process 6 years later in my mind I think of it as I'm weak or these people don't give a damn about me just like my wife who left me and took everything just like my "friends" who call me crazy and nickname me Wildman. I'm going this time because i just lost like my 30th job since 2012 no exaggeration due to my inability to feel like I can be relaxed around people unless I'm drunk or work mode no talking full go or mfs complaining about bullshit or gossip. More rambling etc etc hope the VA can help me when and where my battles won't message me back when I just ask for a message of confidence here and there but can tell me happy b day and tag me in dumb fucking posts of men in wigs I feel alone plus my mom's "oh you need to go get what the military owes you get that check" same person who asked for bill money when a suicide bomber killed 3 of my battles get home the house looks mighty furnished.....fuck!!!! Maybe I should do it for the money and move to a place I can be alone
