With all the crap that's going on in the world your videos are one thing that puts me in a mood of normalcy thanks for taking us fishing. I can always depend on you to have a good video!
I know the sun causes a problem to see good but in a way it gave a nostalgic camera effect on what you were doing. A fisherman on the river catching catfish. Nice fat catfish!!!
Damn you definitely know how to attract the big fish. And I like the fact they're all in different spots. Oh and your yarn about the bad inmates had to go bass fishing was great.
The history is a BS story.... That wasn't a prison and it was built from 1905 to 1913... That building is the old powerhouse from the dam that was there... They were having troubles with this dam and tore it out when a new dam was built some 6 miles down river... Great story, great fish and video.
Not sure if you were joking or not but Hales Bar wasn’t a prison. But it is supposedly haunted from the men that worked there and there are graveyards around there, that they flooded when they made all that. There have been a few of those ghost hunter shows filmed there.
He was clearly joking.. “No wake that means don’t wake the guards”… Everybody knows what no wake means. He’s just got a dry sense of humor and likes to mess with people.
Yup.... I'm thinkin we got us a bullshitter takin us fishin.... That's the old powerhouse from the dam that was there... Took from 1905 to 1913 to build that dam...
Hey Dave, I just want you to know your videos are great and i have fished that very same area almost my whole life and its great to see you sharing it with the world. Keep the great content coming thanks Catfish Dave.

Nice blue cats wish I was fishing today myself love it ! Do you ever eat any fish ? I like to catch catfish but they are not my favorite eating fish but I do keep some of the small ones to eat ever now and then they are so fun to catch .good luck be safe and keep them videos coming!
Dave you can use your camera light in the daylight to take away the darkness when the sun is not in the right spot. On this subject, you are a little bright at night. Adjustable camera lights are the way to go. I enjoy all your videos.
well man I haven't been watching your channel for awhile;;;;;I be back though;;;finally got laptop replacement;;;lol;;;so we have a bit of catching up to do;;;as always fish in the boat;;;thumbs up and keep on fishing
I am just absolutely blown away with your knowledge on catfishing. You know and can tell of the fish even before it takes off with the bait. This is how I'd like to be when it comes to fishing.
Man u catch some nice catfish Dave. U catch big fish every trip out that. I may catch one once in a lifetime. I ain't never caught nothing like the fish you bring in
I was told Flatheads are difficult to catch when the water temperature hits 50. They do catch some threw the ice in Michigan, but based on my limited experience it's a waste of time below 50 degrees. No blues here.
Them big catfish are probably older then he is, also thanks for throwing them back in. If you want catfish to eat go to a restaurant or buying at the store but let these guys alone
I see you're using that new net a bit more gingerly since you folded the handle on the last one... LOL I am planning a road trip down that way to do some fishing this spring Son and I will be headed down from the communist peoples republic of Illinois Would be great to run into you and shake your hand
Dave you need a pair of Hook Sunglasses made by Opticians that Fish! WOW. Is what people say when they put HOOK Optics on their face for the first time. Jeff in LA USA
Do you ever catch anything other than catfish when fishing on the bottom in deep water? Is there anything else down there that would eat cut bait? I assume too deep for turtles.
Thats not a prison lol. Thats an old abandoned dam and powerhouse. They blew up the dam many years ago and built a new dam down stream and flooded the area.
I know you don’t like a bunch of cameras but a take down camera by your rod rack would be a cool shot for those moments. And it might help with the sun glare
Old Saltwater Tactic when drifting structure is to use long pieces of rebar fishing deep. Tends to lay just right and when it comes time to wind it lifts back up and comes right out. I would think Stainless Spring Steel and weight would be dependant on current. Please make use of idea, Please. Blessings.
Steve douglas made a vid in that exact same spot with the old bridge debris almost a yr ago and lost a couple of huge fish and caught another big one. You were in nearly my backyard.
There was an old blue bridge that was torn down several yrs back and the remains were scattered all thru where you were fishing. The very deep part is the main orig channel of the river from before tva backed it up for nickajack dam. Hales bar was a hindrance the whole time it was up and running bc it leaked continuously. Thats why nickajack dam was built
