My mother smoked on and off(mostly on), and only quit “for good” a few months before I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in October of1986. My brother died from kidney cancer on 4/30/2004.. My mother passed away in the mid nineties on what would have been her 42nd wedding anniversary. I’m sure her smoking was a contributing factor to the heart disease that killed her. Please, if you smoke, QUIT!! It is incredibly difficult, but the rewards are well worth it. You can develop COPD years after you smoked your final cigarette .
