Thermatru fiberglass door ABSOLUTELY absorb MOISTURE.. The core of the door is wood, and all four edges are exposed expecially on the bottom where it sits on the threshhold sucking up water into the wood edge, and along the hinge side, especially my Thermatru door is sucking up water, and now the wood is rotted from the bottom up the the first hinge. THe wood is like wet cardboard, and you can stick your finger into the wood. The warranty? The technician has preprinted answers to all the consumer questions to not have to replace the door. It's all a scam. And you really get no warranty on the door.

Our fiberglass doors have fiberglass panels and a polyurethane foam core. We offer both composite and hardwood edges. Fiberglass doors require some maintenance to ensure longevity and performance. @@thermatru My fiberglass door must've been built before fiberglass cores were invented because all four edges are wood. This wood core is supposed to give strength and stability to the door. I get it. But to have wood exposed on all four edges is like buying a fiberglass Corvette and to find the wheelwells are still made of durable steel. Now that's built in obsolescence. It is not fair, and where in the hell were the door designers and lab testers that should've tested for weather hardiness, and longevity of such a fine product as a wood Thermatru somwhat fiberglass door? I got a wood door with a fiberglass skin that sucks water to the point of having to be replaced. I bought it in year 2008, and by 2012 I saw wood rot underneath the first hinge. It was probably there much sooner, but who goes loooking on the door edge.

The composite Frame on a double sidelight entry door needs a screw every 4 inches to combat twisting or movement with temperature changes. On a dark stained door what do you fill the countersunk installation screws with. Can you buy plugs that match the door color
