This video goes through A) four examples of thermochemical reactions to demonstrate 1) placement of the energy term within the equation as well as external to the equation for heats of reaction for exothermic reactions and then for endothermic reactions, 2) showing the importance of states for magnitude of the delta H (heat of reaction), and 3) showing changing delta H signs for reversible reactions, (all of this goes to 4:05), and then B) going through several delta H--mole--mass conversions (starting at 4:05 to end): problem solving using the energy term (the heat of reaction) converting to moles and/or mass

Very good!! Clear and goes right along with what I was trying to understand from the text.

Thank you for explaining this topic so clearly. I learned something new in less than ten minutes, which is awesome.

At 3:17 the narrator misspoke (the decomposition is endothermic) but he clarified this later on. A very good video but the error could be corrected and remove a potentially confusing moment.

Why in 2:56 the left of the equation is not equal to the right of the equation ? If at the left side of the equation there are 2 atoms of H and 1 atome of O, it should be the same numbers of H and O at the right side, like in 3:18, or like in 4:22.

Yes you are correct. I see the mistake, there should be the coefficient of 2 in front of H2O. Sorry for the error, and thanks for telling me!

@@CrashChemistryAcademy where do you want to put the coefficient 2 ? At the left side or right side ? Neither side is good. At the left side of the equation, there is only 1 H2O. However, at the right side there is 1 H2O and there is also (1/2)O2. I can not understdand how you can balance this equation.

@@zehravigna4873 Sorry, I see my error now. The correct reaction is H2O --> H2 + (1/2)O2. I did not look at it closely enough. I hope you can see it is now balanced. The video has H2O on the right side, which is incorrect, it should be H2. Without the 1/2 coefficient the balanced reaction would be 2H2O --> 2H2 + O2. I halved the coefficients so that the delta H for water would be for 1 mole, so the H2O coefficient needed to be 1, and so I reduced all coefficients by a half. I hope that makes sense, sorry for the confusion!
