Even though the lid locking feature has changed and is now easier to remove it's because of your tenacity and ingenuity that the rest of us benefit by not having to track our brains to figure it out. 😅🎉
The new versions can be opened way easier. Pull on the part under the lid (that has locks shapes on it) then (while pulling) slide the top slider (open close thing) past the regular open position. It should pop up and release. They removed the locking wedge tabs that are in the video. The slider is held on with the hidden plastic piece that is holding the big spring.
Thanks so much. This lid was driving me crazy. I was really hoping for a deep clean on one of these. The older design is much easier to take apart. For me, this seems like too much effort. I'll just hope the dishwasher is enough for the lid. The video was great at explaining how everything works.
A much easier way to do this is to simply place your lid in the open position. Take a butterknife and apply pressure upward to the mouthpiece opening, and it will pop right up.
alright, so I finally got it to work. i guess mine was an older model so it didnt have the nifty thing where you pull on the locking mechanism on the underside of the lid to release the slide... mine was like the one in this video. simplest thing to do is pop the slide open, stick a sturdy butter knife under the slide and lever it up. this will deform the plastic tabs and the slide will pop off. Despite the damage i was able to clean the lid and put it back together just fine. what a shit design, no wonder they changed it lmao
It's okay video but if you can shorten it up a lot there's way too much of it you're just talking and we don't need it when you're trying to do something quickly people don't have 10 minutes to learn how to open a lid that takes 2 minutes to learn
