Glad I'm not the only one having issues re assembling these rubber bands, I nearly threw away the whole thing out of frustration ! Thanks for posting,!
I would like to thank you for creating such an excellent video. It's very informative, and the RU-vid community appreciates it. Additionally, I wanted to share a great method for removing residue from the inner walls of a thermos, as well as from the plastic parts and gaskets. Simply pour hot water into the thermos and add a quarter of a dishwashing tablet. For the lid and gaskets, place them in a bowl with hot water and add another quarter of a dishwashing tablet. Let everything soak for an hour, and you'll find it all clean and residue-free.
Yours is the ONE and ONLY video that is truly helpful and goes over in detail how to reassemble the lid components! You made me love my THERMOS mug again! 😄
Thank you I watched many videos on cleaning a Thermos mug and you were the only one who said to put the flat side down in the gasket. That solved my leaking problem.
Thank you! I've had my little guy for approximately 7 or 8 years. Lol TODAY I took it apart and washed it throughly...would not have been able to reassemble without your instructions
BRILLIANT! I was getting so frustrated with trying to get the gaskets and the lid reassembled after cleaning. It kept leaking. Watched your video and all worked great and it is now a leakproof container!!! Thank you so much 😊
You literally saved my Ass I’d taken the seal off to try and clean it a bit and then realised I don’t know how to put it on again Followed ur video and gave it a properly deep clean. Thank you so much you saved me a lot of trouble
Every time I thought I had it correct, my coffee would just drip out. I was about to just order a new one because I love how well it keeps hot drinks hot/cold drinks cold. Thanks so much for breaking it down!
This video really helped me. I was fighting myself in the closed position, and when you said it was better in the open position my problem was solved. Thank you very much
Thank heavens for me finding you on here. I’ve just spent at least three quarters of an hour trying to get that flipping rubber ring in place to the point the cup nearly ended up in next doors garden! Thank you so much. It must be a bloke thing, No patience!
You magnificent bastard!!! I love you. I have been struggling with cleaning this damn lid for a MONTH and couldn’t use it because it kept leaking (because I re-assembled it improperly). You fixed my mug and now I can drink my hot tea in the morning train again. I’m so thankful you are basically my god right now. I would pray to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks again. I just read all the other comments from people having difficulty re-assembling the lid. The Thermos people should be REALLY grateful to you because they neglected to put this important info in the instructions. Duh. You deserve a reward from them, even $$. You probably saved their customer service dept. big bucks from the 63,657 people who didn’t have to call them. 😆. You rock.
Thanks for this video I've been using my mug daily for around 3 months now and have looked back at your video more than once to remember how the gasket goes back on. Such a great mug it's the best I have ever had
Thank you so much. I agonized for ages over how to replace the main seal. You made it so simple I got it back on the first time after watching this.. very clear steps.
This great video covers every aspect of this travel mug. Much clearer than another video I saw which didn’t explain in detail for example how to put that larger of the two rubber gaskets back on and I had put it on upside down as a result. Also worth noting… the much smaller cylindrical gasket which you mentioned just lifting up to rinse underneath can actually be completely removed as well. When I took it out it was worth it because it was actually quite dirty on the inside. Again, great video. Don’t mean to give anybody nightmares, but I had this travel mug for a couple of years and was drinking coffee with cream out of it and had never properly disassembled and cleaned it. Was incredibly nasty and gross inside. A credit to the human immune system that I didn’t get sick drinking out of it all this time.
@@nyreeinoke2671 Thank you for that link! It is brilliant. While I never thought to break down the lid in the detail the gentleman does there, it is an excellent example of the crevices this lid has where build up and debris can hide. I have added the removal of the center gasket inside the lid which is missing from the video here. Removing that small gasket alone allowed me to clear a lot of gunk that had built up over the 2 to 3 years I've owned this thermos. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for this, I have just purchased same one as you, needed a decent insulated mug. Your instructions for taking things apart was very helpful. ❤
THANK YOU. TOOK MINE APART TO WASH, AND OHH BOY. I fumbled around and could make no sense of it. Then found this video, you made it so easy. Thank You again.
Thanks a lot... your video is so helpful. I just bought it, and then after I washed it, I didn't know how to reassemble it; it leaked. But after I watched your video, it didn't matter anymore.
Wow I’m glad i clicked on your channel.I just received mine yesterday and of course i put the parts back on wrong.Thanks.This video really helped me out
Thank you for taking the time to make this! For the third time I’ve dismantled it to wash it and I couldn’t work out how to put it back together! 😂 your video really helped me
Thank you so much for this vid!!! I've had my mug since last summer & have disassembled it for cleaning & put it back together before. But today I just couldn't seem to get the large gasket back on correctly so had to come here to review how to do it. Also, I didn't know about the fill line. You rock!!!!
Thanks, actually had an issue where I was missing the gasket but didn't realize. And during the vid I saw where it was supposed to go. I was just cleaning it and misplaced it, but your vid reminded me
So glad I found you , since I have disassembled the lid I have spent at least twenty minutes each morning trying to put the lid back on. Just followed your example and heard the pop vacuum seal. Thank you ... .
Thank you so much for posting this. I took it apart last night to clean it and then couldn't figure out how to reassemble. You did a great job of thoroughly explaining how it all goes. Thank you again :)
Thank you so much! ❤ You saved me. I took just the big rubber gasket out because it seemed like it was time to clean it, but then I didn't know how to put it back. I was getting so frustrated and thinking I'd have to throw it away. In fact, I learned that it could all come apart thanks to you. I took it apart, and it was gross! 🤢 I would have ruined my favorite mug if it wasn't for this video, and these mugs are not cheap. 💸💰You are so smart to have discovered how to take it apart. I never would have figured out that you had to turn it to take it apart. Thank you, thank you!! 🙏🙏
Thank you sooo much. Had this cup for months and love it. I only drink tea from it and just give it a heavy rise when done using. I asked my "rocket scientist" wife to rinse it out for me. She completely dismantled my favorite cup and couldn't fix it. I was steamed ready to buy a new one. Needless to say this video saved the day and my ginger tea. "Boom" Thank you.
Thank you SO much!!! I spent a few hours trying to figure out the lid until eventually I just set the mugs and lids aside not sure if I was ever going to figure them out. I appreciate you.
Thanks for the video I got one for myself and it arrived yesterday and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to reassemble the lid properly but now I do thank you so much! I work outdoors and especially in winter where it gets as low as -4 degrees. This cup is going to be a game changers as my old one could only stay hot for 10 mins before going cold.
OH MY GOODNESS THANK YOU!!! I have had my mug for over 8 years (it is seriously THE best) and for the life of me I just could not get it all back together! The O-Ring was killing! Thank you Thank You Thank you! BONUS - discovered the tea holder!
THANK YOU A ZILLION THANKS!!!.. LOVE my mug and I do BACK UP HER CLAIMS..MY COFFEE FINALLY STAYS HOT!! I use half n half so I rinse between morning refills than take apart OR buy mascara brushes ..always a big help and my cream can be MESSY! I ALMOST GAVE UP AND THREW IT AWAY SO THANK YOU AND PEEPS THIS MUG I BOUGHT FOR $20.00 AT WALLMART AND ITS SO WORTH!!! 💘 FROM MINNESOTA!
Thought I was going to have to throw the mug out. Disassembled the lid to clean it and couldn't put back together. Your video was easy to follow! Thank you!
Dachary, you saved my life. My poor recently deceased husband used the same red mug and I went to use it for a friend and is smelled disgusting! I pulled the lid apart and it was FULL of mold. He was a latte drinker. I am confident I didn't kill him (he died of COPD), but it couldn't have been helping him! After I took it apart and cleaned the lid parts, I could NOT figure out how to get it back together properly (mostly due to the large gasket. Now It has been throughly cleaned (with clorox!) and reusable thanks to your video. Thank you so much.
Thank you Dachary for the excellent tips about having the top in the Open position for removing and reinstalling the top and demonstrating the correct position for the large gasket.
Lot of these products don't show the lids in detail on how easy it is to clean esp with milky products! Thank you for this! Very helpful to know before buying!
thank you, thank you. stupid me didn't realize that i was filling my mug above the max line and that was why it was leaking on me. thanks also for the tips on disassembling the lid for cleaning.
Thank you for the video! Just bought a new thermos mug and there was no mention in the cleaning instructions to keep it open when you reassemble the lid as well as the fill line in the mug. Tried to put it back together and it didn't look right, you just saved me from both cold coffee and a constantly leaking lid!!
Thank you so much for this! You just saved me from a total meltdown!!! I couldn’t figure out how to get that large gasket back on until I watched your video. You’ve saved my day, LOL😂 Thanks, Dachary.
THANK YOU and Merry Christmas to me from you! I love this mug, so much that I have 3. Problem is Ive been intermittently trying to put them all back together w/o leakage for almost a year and never able to screw the lid back on right. You’re well instructed tips helped me realize that the nuance of laying that large gasket over the lip of the black plastic made all the difference. I’m so grateful.
This is a fabulous video. I was stuck getting the round plastic ring back on the lid and this video explained and showed it very clearly. I am saving this link since it is irreplaceable. Thank you
My husband just gifted me one of these mugs. I took it apart & I can’t seem to remember where the seal goes and how to properly put all pieces back on. At first I was surprised that there’s a video on this mug but after watching your video I can see why there is one … and I’m grateful. Who knew there were so many parts?! Here I thought I was being thorough 😆
