Thanks guys, this channel has been a life saver!

Good advice with not overly tightening!! Same with everything and OIL FILTERS .. when heat is introduced parts or just metals period will expand

They said "if it sticks closed, the engine will never heat up all the way." But that only happens if its stuck open.

How long did it run during the finish? Enough to get up to temp. Or just long enough to circ?

Thank you so much. I replaced my valve, but unfortunately the error p0128 went back on, do you know what I might have done wrong? Thank you guys!

This could be caused by anything that causes the engine to warm up slowly (or ECM to think it is anyways) - you've probably already done it, but double check your coolant level and maybe bleed it again for air. If that doesn't do it try looking at your coolant temp sensors if you have a scanner, see if they seem realistic compared to your ambient temperature

@@LemurMonitors Do u have any videos on the P0119? I already chamged my Coolant Temp Sensor. The light stayed off for 1 week. Now its back on. Ive also filled coolant level above full line. So its def not low. Any idea whats next???

When I did the cycle process it seems like none of the coolant cycled out of the can is a lot suppose to cycle or only a little bit

My thermostat was completely rusted ? What would be the cause for that. Also can an engine run for years with a shot thermostat? No giving signals or showing overheating? My mechanic says it's possible but I think the engine would overheat 😊

How much coolant did you guys drain out? I don’t really want to drain more than I need to
@dynocompe
@dynocompe 2 года назад
you are just draining enough so the upper hose will be empty. If you dont drain enough, the worst that will happen is you will have some coolant left in that hose when you remove it

I’m not one to really comment on anyone’s channel but in this case I’m curious so I’m gonna ask. Is there a slight crack on the housing right side on the bottom? Just wondering not being a ass honestly I give you 💯 respect for doing videos it’s not easy if you want it perfect.
@LemurMonitors
@LemurMonitors 3 года назад
Haha good eye - it looks like the bolt on that side was poorly drilled out by some previous owner

The thermostat i bought had a gasket that wanted to go around the new one, but aint no way in hell with the already tight fit, the old seal doesnt look cracked, would it be fine to re use?

I’m changing the upper and lower rad hoses, the thermostat, and replacing the fluid. All coolant is out of the system. What is the best way to add coolant back into the system? Should I pour some coolant in to the thermostat hole? Or should I just add it all directly into the reservoir? Also, a video on changing the lower rad hose would be beneficial, it was a pain in the butt to get to the bottom hose. I had to remove the power steering pump. Maybe there is a better way you could show us. Thanks.

How crucial is it to torque those 10 mils? That’s the one tool I don’t have
@LemurMonitors
@LemurMonitors 3 года назад
Your discretion really - most people probably won't bother, but one thing you can't really see in the video is that one of the two was drilled out before after twisting off so be careful
