At last, the long awaited therapeutic vaccine for chronic hepatitis B called TherVac B is here to start the first clinical trial
The therapeutic vaccine, TherVac B, has been developed with the precise goal of eliciting the type of immunity necessary to eradicate Hepatitis B, encompassing a wide range of over 95% of hepatitis B virus strains globally
The initiation of the first clinical trial marks a significant milestone for TherVac B. Developed under the auspices of Helmholtz Munich, this phase 1a clinical trial is being conducted at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at LMU University Hospital Munich, with the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf serving as the trial sponsor. The trial aims to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of this innovative vaccine candidate in healthy volunteers
