You gotta admit that re-releasing the exact same product with one new addition is the most perfect toy campaign for Mario Kart 8 to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe though, right?

Wouldn’t be the first time McDonald’s pulled a stunt like this, last time was when they released the toys for the penguins of Madagascar movie which were the exact same toys they made for the cartoon years prior.

2:15 if anyone was wondering where the origin of that Spunch Bop Mario came from, I actually made this months back on my Devianart. A friend recently showed me this vid and I feel honored to have one of my masterpieces in a Peebs video.

Before Peebs even mentioned the word "scam" for the first time, I just idly glanced up at the mantle above the fireplace next to me, where I keep all my knickknacks. And there I could see the Peach and Bowser toys, which I already had, that have been up there for many many years. It was a funny moment XD

Oh man I have so many good memories of playing at the McDonalds playground. This was back in the 90's. My mom use to work there and I would just hang out all day. I'd bring my Gameboy and my Pokemon cards and I literally felt like a king! I made so many friends there...I wonder how they're all doing these days...

It’s pretty humorous to me after this set they released a toy promotion for the Sonic 2 movie, that is just an insane coincidence.

Even when I was working there during the Mario Kart promotion this year, something did seem quite off. It seemed like a rushed and lazy way to promote the DLC. I'm not expecting anything mind-blowing, but I at least expect them to create something entirely new!

I would love to have some insight on the whole toy thing. It really seems (specially since the worker at the begging said they had whatever toys laying around). That the stores were due to an overhaul of old merch. It's fairly common here in my country bc of the low population, McDonald's just pulls that to get rid of left over storage. Also the "newer" toys being of lower quality gives me leftover or quality control leftover vibes.

I’m going to guess why the happy meal toys are getting worse especially with the paint job is because the McDonald’s higher ups are rushing the toy factories to get the toy finished in quickest and cheapest way possible. Now the modern McDonald’s toys are in poor quality in the same levels as those Mexican bootleg toys

I love how the 2022 ones are SO much of a scam they can't even jump off a metal ramp right, something EVERY quality car toy should be able to do (or at least Hot Wheels)!

This was a great video. I really enjoy these toy reviews waaaaay more than I expected. You manage to make them so entertaining, rather than just "some person opens package for 15 minutes". Seeing you take them out of their packaging and play with them a bit, talk about their details, etc. makes all the difference.

I’m the only one gonna say this, but I genuinely love the detail of yoshis face in the 2022 version. The different eyes and positions make him look cuter. Probably the best thing to come out if the 2022 set, I don’t understand why they went from a dark green to a bright limeish green... unfortunately I feel like the boss told them “your working on detail? Just finish with that last yoshi and do the others as quick as possible we need these out of the warehouse ASAP! Kids won’t care about quality” I

Peebs is a real one for driving around and trying to get all the toys himself with no guarantee of success. I mean, gas prices are crazy right now!

Lowkey was scared watching this that the 2014 ones were gonna get burned and it gave me physical pain because the 2022 toys paint job made me actually angry.

To be fair, Nintendo just rereleased the same Mario Kart with a few changes a few years later, so I don't blame McDonalds too much for doing basically the same thing with their toys.

in the whole run, after visiting 5 McDonald's restaurants over the course of a month, I am the not-so-proud owner of 4 Donkey Kongs, 1 Yoshi and 1 Luigi. yes, 4. might I mention at least 1 of those times I was almost given a Mulan toy, and another time Scooby Doo, and another time Teen Titans Go. I fear the after market to complete the rest.
