Might have mentioned this on another video (??), but a winter habit that has really helped my dry winter hands has been putting Olay Age Defying body wash with Vitamin E in all my liquid soap dispensers. Esp if you have to wash your hands a lot, it keeps them lightly moisturized through the day, but doesn't leave a film on screens. NOTE: I've tried the other kinds of Olay body washes but for some reason the Vitamin E one works the best. P.S. Also tried the A&D when hangnails get bad - it's the BEST. Also bought the Happy Light - the BEST, too. I'm such a groupie! Thanks & thanks to for the comical sound effects.

One things I like to do is mix baby oil gel with a good lotion, Aveno or Eucerin. The mixture keeps my arms/legs moist ALL day.👍👍👍

I have the 'winter blues' too or Seasonal Affected Disorder is what it's called aka the medical term. I already deal with depression and such and having the 'winter blues' just adds to it if I don't use my happy light .. i have one I got on Amazon too best price as all the stores near me wanted double the cost for the same one or similar. I'm like no way.. Dry skin I use coconut oil in the winter time too and have found some new products in my area here that I love for my hands and feet too.. made by Nivea and Vaseline.. I keep one at the office, one in my purse and one here at home. Lip balm is also a must have here for me. I love the Cover Girl Oh Sugar lipstick it is like a lip balm combined with colour and their LipSlicks Smoochies lip balm with colour too.. feels so good.. I always try to hydrate and drink enough water that helps skin too... as far as the cracks on your fingers.. I don't get those but I do on my cuticiles.. almond oil is helpful for me with a little bit of the hand cream I use.. seems to keep them at bay. I just moisturize more than at bedtime too.. and I don't use harsh hand soaps whenever possible.. I actually use Dove soap to wash my hands in winter time or goat's milk soap and then rub in coconut oil once my hands are dry - when at home.. when at work i use whatever soap is there but double up on the moisturizer for sure..

A and D is good for moisturizer too and inexpensive. My Dad was a physician and he used A and D plus Utter Balm. He washed his hands at least 60 times a day!

Bag Balm is great too. They actually use this for cows utters in the winter. I mix it with my lotion and put it on my feet. My father used to have the same issue that you have and that is what he swore by.

You're going to find you have fewer issues during the winter now that you're low carb! I do carnivore 5 days a week and keto 2 days a week and almost every issue I've had has disappeared ( along with 30 pounds and counting!) My skin is better, hair is thicker, Type 2 diabetes gone, chronic migraines gone and joint pain/aches gone. Low carb high fat and moderate protein turned out to be the best decision I've made in years. Excited to see if you discover any extra perks to going low carb,

Yes....give it a try! It has worked wonders for me. Be consistent every night to let existing cracks heal and stop new cracks from forming. Then you will notice the difference :)

Oh, I get the cracks on my fingertips as well, but this year they didn't go away anymore in the warm season. The doctor said it is a kind of eczema. I also have psoriasis on my hands, so it might be related. I have a large one on the tip of my thumb and it hurts like hell! Unfortunately, there is no A&D in Eastern Europe...

Thank you sweet lady xxx Edit :- What you are describing is SAD's Renee... Seasonal Affective Disorder. Symptoms include all the thing you outline. Feeling down in the dumps slightly for no reason, no energy, can't get off to sleep easily followed by a bad night sleep, waking up tiered and grumpy and just not wishing to tackle the day. If you were a little animal you would probably go into hibernation lol My man Alex has this so I bought him a happy light and he refuses to use it, won't give it a chance, used it once and told me it was a lot of poop. I really despair of him. If you are taking vitamins you nead to do so for a full month before you begin to feel the full benefits of them and I think it will be the same way with a happy light. Try it for a month at least folks... what have you got to loss xxx

Oh no....you get them too!!?? They hurt like the dickens!!!! Absolutely try the A&D Creme....but use it faithfully for at least a week to let any existing cracks heal and stop any new cracks from forming. Then you will feel the difference. Hope it helps!

Such a great video! I live in Illinois, and preparing for winter has been on my mind lately as well. I struggle so much in the colder months, and this year I determined that I would do better. I think that light may be the key. I have to admit, I have invested a bit more in my winter wardrobe as well. I feel like one of the best ways to get through winter is to like what you're wearing! Your current may simply be too bright for you. Mine has 4 brightness adjustments...and I don't use the brightest setting. I actually prefer 2 of 4 as the brightness.

Just for your info Renee, if you want a brilliant hand creme, that's not greasy, takes a while to rub in, also keeps moisture in even with washing your hands even a few times is Moisture Therapy Hand Creme (in the tube) by Avon, IT'S BRILLIANT, or was, we can't get Avon here like we used to.

Great tips! I have used Bag Balm on my fingers and toes for years. If necessary, I wear white cotton gloves and cotton socks to allow the balm can absorb overnight.

Great information. I live in SoCal and we don't get seasons here (unfortunately) but I do have a problem with ONE crackly elbow (why only one?) I don't know. I get the cracks on the tips of my fingers too. Last winter I was putting neosporin & bandaids on my fingers every night till they healed. But in 1-2 weeks I got the cracks again and had to repeat the whole process. I’m ordering 2 tubes of the cream, 1 for me & 1 for my son who also gets the cracks.

I am so glad you mentioned that scene from ELR. I think of that everytime I do that now too. I have never heard of the A & D cream but will get some for me and my daughter to try. I use Lubriderm every night as recommended by my doctor but will look into the one mentioned. I do have a 'happy' light that I use on really gloomy days but also take vit D daily. Wish I started that years earlier. Love that you shared this info.

Found a tube of Camphor Ice years ago. It comes in a stick like lipstick and heals those cracks overnight. I have had this tube for yrs and reach for it every winter. 😉

@@WelcomeToMyCurls Dermatone brand - Walmart lists it and it lasts forever. Used to be made by Vaseline . I have two sticks and I know I've had them for more than twenty years. I found it when we used to snowmobile a lot. Good luck.🧓

Rene, you need to book a spa day and go get a professional mani, pedi with wax dip on both. It will make you want your own wax warmer! I love the happy light. It's awsome❣️😎

What creams or lotions do you recommend for feet during the winter time?? My feet and legs become very dry during the winter and I did use baby lotion for awhile but have realized I need something else to use..I don’t have a problem during the summer just in the winter time..😊

Hi Peggy! I use Flexitol Heel Balm on my heels every day after I get out of the shower. Try CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion (found at your grocery)...it's great for legs/arm daily after your shower.
