I love lists. When I met my husband 46 yrs ago he was in college and lists and notes were his thing. We both still do it now and so do our kids. I always have backups too! Thanks for your tips Renee. Life is easier! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Oh fellow list maker......I just love you. I to use a spiral note book. I jot down everything. Books mentioned, recipes, name of old 60s song so Alexa can play it for me, on an on an on. Love referring back to it. In my car also, jotting down stuff. AND if something gets done that’s not on my trusty list, I add it then cross it out. Soooo satisfying.

Hi Renée. Your hair looks wonderful. Your organizing tips are very helpful. I didn't know that file folders are sold on Amazon. Thank you for mentioning it. I use the to do list on my phone. I write the summary of my payments on my phone, I also keep my receipts in big plastic envelopes of different color. Your tips are very useful. I intend to start applying some of your tips. Pollux and Mooey are so cute. Please don't show in your videos where you put your purse and car keys, even though it may be hard to break into the house. One should be prudent. Great idea. My two drawer file cabinet was just about maxed out the day i bought it. I buy these same plastic containers from the dollar tree frequently . I never though of making file drawers out of them. Thanks so much. This has been a concern bugging me. I have house, land and auto taxes that i actually need to keep separately but in one place. This is perfect. Today i am visiting a new store in our mountain, foothills area. They are popping up so fast there are several i've never even been in. That's a big thing here as we are super rural. Syrup festivals, opossum festivals, apple festivals. Pumpkin festivals, shallot festivals. Our jockey lots are greatly fresh vegetable outdoor markets. That and hand made items. They are also show off areas for beautiful and rare dogs, spotted with unusual ears, tails and markings. I love it. I bought a pup a few years back from a section of brendlle long legged nixed ones, she is a crazy girl from a boxer dad and a weimaraner mom . All legs and mostly clown.

Thank you so much for this video and the great suggestions. I had most of these systems in place but was way behind in using them so I paused your video after each one and went and brought the receipt filing and tax files up to date, reorganized my entry hook system for purses, jackets etc., updated my shopping and to do lists (which I keep digitally), and reestablished the grocery list system. It took less than an hour to complete it all and it feels absolutely great to be organized again! Thanks so much for the inspiration and the tips!! Love you!❤️

I do that too..there is always a back-up. You do alot of the same things I do. 👍😂🤣 I’m also a bit of a control freak...Type A personality. 😉😊

One more thing . . . On certain clothing items or textiles, I used to save (in a box) the tags or the packaging that listed the brand, size, fiber content, washing instructions, etc. Eventually, however, the box was overflowing with tags. Now, I keep a list on my phone and computer of all that information. If I ever have to know the size of my tablecloth (like if I need to buy a new one) or know what size and brand of underwear my son needs, it’s all on my phone and I can pull up the list while shopping. I have all categories of things on this list: clothing, textiles, shoes, bakeware, household. That way, if I ever want to buy the same thing as I had before (or if I need to know how to launder a special item), I have the information. ❤️❤️

What a great post! I used to be this organized but since my husband died I have let things slip! BUT had a long talk with self and decided this has got to stop because it has become overwhelming which then leads to depression! I also am a pen & paper person and calendar nut! Since I am retired friends have “employed” me plus I work part time at a large antique mall in Wichita, I dog sit for a flight attendant friend who flys international and pickup a neighbor girl from school....soooo my schedule becomes crazy! Add to that everything that needs done at home and yard now is my job....yikes! Re: autopay which is fantastic, well I found an easy way for me, I put everything on two credit cards and pay off EVERY month. Both cards are affiliated with my bank or financial service and I earn points which I can then use to buy things from gift cards, etc! But you have to be mindful of how much you are purchasing as the goal is to NOT have a carryover balance! Again Renee...this was such a wonderful post as we all need help being organized or reminders😉! 👏👏👏👏❤️

The best thing I ever did was to keep a binder in the cupboard above my washing machine. In the binder are different category sheets where I log what I’ve washed and when. I have a different sheet for each family member’s bedding, couch throws & blankets, winter coats & jackets, bathroom rugs, throw rugs in the house, car floor mats, cat bedding, vacuum cleaner filter changes, cat litter box sterilizing and litter changes, etc. . Also, clipped to the front of the binder (for easy access) is a weekly laundry log for when I wash whites, darks, socks & underwear, and towels (I have four columns on the page). I then simply write in the date (for example, “Mon, 3-6-20”). This way, I always know when I last washed something. I use this log multiple times throughout the week. Best thing I ever did!! Wish I’d thought of it 30 years earlier though! 😭😭😂😂💪💪

I am a "list" person too. I had a very busy job that I had to be organized. You knave to find ways to relieve pressure on your thought process! I use almost everything you do. The i phone app is great -;thank you! I also keep backups for products I use. Unfortunately my home is a small condo so room is premium. LOVED your idea to store bills & receipts!!! OH my goodness! I’m so jealous. My house is small, storage is scarce. 3 kiddos moved out left stuff behind. I’m always behind playing catch up. Home improvements demand attention. I don’t know where to start or stop. I started organization of my downstairs,so proud when all done. No joke, 1 month later Sewage backup and well, there goes that. Everything is now pulled up out and awaiting new flooring etc. good luck getting workers out at Holidays. Rene, I just wanna throw my hands up and cry. Lol. Seriously. 🤪🤣😭

I am a graphic designer and the place I worked closed it's doors due to the shutdown . I also have 2 dogs and love them like crazy . HI Renee, thanks for reaffirming organization. I am retired and on a fixed income therefore I need to know where I am spending my money & when. I pay bills through online banking once a month and keep track of all the money coming in and what goes out, including groceries through a spreadsheet filing the receipts by month. I have ADD and my mind wanders, so placing items in the same place to find them when I need them is imperative. When I get home my purse, car & house keys go in the same place. I am also an advocate of to do lists, it helped me in my job and now that I am getting older and gives me a sense of satisfaction when that task has been accomplished. All of this has worked for years, keeps me organized and stress free. Thank you for passing this around to younger audiences, certainly your daughters have learned valuable lessons by the example you've set. Greetings from Aida in Calgary

Thanks for the tips! I make lists daily too! If it's something I don't want to do, I break it down in little pieces on my to do list - it becomes not as overwhelming and it's very satisfying when I check it off! Renee I'm 58 almost 59 now and I have a grocery mantra my Mum taught me and it is from WWII and it Goes thusly Tea Coffee Sugar Butter Cheese Ham Eggs Cooking fat Bread Milk Those are the basic's of most house holds, then you can consider things for an immediate meal that day, the likes of supper and then plan more evening meals around what youve bought for today's supper. IE :- A 5lb bag of Potatoes will serve 2 people 3 times and Change up the veg and meat to make different meals. Scottish folk don't have a greatly varied diet lol Meat 2 veg n tatties lol xxx Rice or pasta and curry with the rice or Bolognese with the pasta etc. That's just a little of my coping strategy. I pick a carb (potatoes, rice, pasta etc)and plan a meal around it. We do go get KFC or McDonald's of a Chinese and other take away foods for a nice change. I also write my Shoping list the way the store is layed out as I hate back tracking too.

When I lived in Colorado where the grocery store was 45 minutes one way, I would only go once a week. I had a grocery list that I created that was by department. Dairy, Meats, Produce, Frozen, Staples, Hygiene, Other, and even Liquor! Lol. It makes selecting your items so much easier. If I have a willy nilly, no order list, it never fails that I somehow skip over something. Living in the boonies for so long, I understand the concept of putting something on the list if your almost out. I'd also plan my meals for the week and list those ingredients that I needed. It's great to be organized! Thanks for sharing your tips.

My local full service grocery store feels like it's the size of two football fields. I have to map out my choices by aisle otherwise I waste time criss-crossing the store numerous times. Although, one exception is that hot or cold items are chosen last.

I’d love to see another video of the ice cream shop. I was just amazed at the last one. We don’t have anything like that here. Maybe you should open one here! The pups looked extra cute, Pollux and Maxxie are such little helpers, moral support and loving looks lol. My hoodie came on Halloween and I just love it. So soft and I got large so I can layer. I wore a t shirt underneath and was toasty warm. I was living in it till I splashed pasta sauce on it so it’s in the washer now. Loved the last Florida video. The white sand is incredible

Great tips Renee- l use notes all the time, but l did not know about the checkpoints! It vital for me to make lists too because when lm fatigued or have a lot on my mind- my brain goes to mush and l forget things. Your organisation skills are impressive. And l think too your boundaries and expectations are clearly defined- something l could definitely improve on. We must have the same brain! I do everything you do already, minus the dog and business stuff, since it doesn’t apply to me. I also have everything in plastic bins, including things in drawers and in my pantry, such as spices, vitamins, cans, baking supplies. That way, even if the items inside the bin get disheveled, it’s still “organized chaos!” 😂 And I’m 100% with you on the paper calendar thing! Gotta see a month at a time! 😂

Since (so I've heard) they're not teaching the kids how to cursive write anymore, I suppose they're going to have to do everything electronically, including grocery lists. I prefer your method. I also keep a few index cards in my purse to write stuff down.

For lists, my husband and I use Google Keep - a live online tool that lets you either keep your own lists, or SHARE lists. This way, we can BOTH add things to the grocery list and the Sam's Club list.

I use the Reminders feature on my iPhone for appointments and anything that I need to remember that is coming up. The reminder shows up on my phone until I check it off. I even have a daily reminder to take my meds.

One thing I'm in the habit of doing is downloading owner's manuals for every item that has a paper copy---which like to lose themselves in the shuffle of other papers. Keep digital copies on an external drive clearly marked as containing manuals.

Great video. Wish I had wife like you. So pretty, smart, organized. So how often do you have to empty those vacuums? Doesn't seem like they'd hold much. Knew you had ice cream shop, but not two other business's. Have you said what your other two business's are? Just curious. Also do you give bones to the dogs? Like to see them enjoying few bones. Good for teeth.

I’m glad I’m not the on.y one who prwfers handwritten imformation storage to digital...forone thing, Ican’t be bothered with entry of phone numbers into my phone...a little notebook serves the purpose admirably.
