I completely agree with you that New Balance is killing it when it comes to high quality shoes this year. One area that New Balance has really improved in is soccer cleats. I just purchased their 442 leather cleats which are $100 & they are the most comfy cleats I have worn in a long time & they offer an excellent touch on the ball. Keep up the great work New Balance!!!

Thanks for this review. These are great. Wish they have more colors. I bought a pair because of this review. The goretex is very helpful. My feet didn't get wet during a storm.

My shoe closet went from ultraboosts to zoomx to freshfoam x because of you. Gotta put these on my waitlist now 😂😂 I usually rock some merrells for trail stuff but the last pair I got the sole fell apart from not even a lot of wear. Great review thank you. Looking for a waterproof shoe for when I walk the dog as fed up wuith wet feet when I walk on the field close to home. Have previously tried Merrel and Adidias both gortex but both let have let water so need to try another brand. These look goof and love seeing the water test, much appreciated.

It sounds like the Hierro v7 GTX is the one I need. However, the "pixel green" is a bit too much for me. Wish the "Golden Hour with Dark Camo and Black" colour scheme for the non-GTX version was an option for the GTX version.

I bought these on footasylum as were on sale. I loved the look, bit out there. They fit perfect and are so comfortable. I have owned ultraboost and 4ds previously and these mstch or beat them for comfort. Not tried the waterproof capability yet but i live in UK so bound to rain at some point. Great review btw 🎉🎉

By the way Hes, I just purchased the NB 1080v12 and they are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have always gone on your Top 5 and I've never been disappointed. This goes all the way back to the Nike Presto a few years ago, super comfy. I intend to order the Fresh Foam X Hierro v7 GTX and see how it works out. I just would like to ask, I spend most of my time on pavement and or concrete jungle terrain, do you think that the tread would be an issue on solid pavement?

I own v6, the non GTX version. I found that GTX will prevent the water from evaporating if it gets in the shoe. A too soft foam might not be the best for a trail shoe as it will reduce stability. V6 is very good, I will get the v7 when my current shoe gets too many miles. Thank you for the review.

You think those are crazy you should feel the fresh foam x more trail v2. I had to learn how to walk because the softness and spring back made me want to run. It has the most of that foam on that shoe. I love it

It's the same foam and density as the More V3. It definitely has more underfoot cushion than these, but if I had to choose I'd take the Hierro V7 because it feels more stable while still well cushioned.

please, help! will they get wider over time? Mine just arrived today. I had got the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker GTX and liked the bounce but couldn't get over the narrow toe box and how stiff the materials were. I returned them after seeing the GTX mid come out. I have a pair of More Trail V1 and they have more fresh foam x but a bit more of a bouncy responsiveness to them than the mids. I think it could be that the entire outsole is vibram, whereas the More Trail has lots of fresh foam exposed on the bottom. Much lighter than the Adidas, planning on wearing them for light hiking and running around this winter to avoid the slush and snow. I have warmer boots for when the real cold weather arrives in Canada.

Update: got them, at first, i didnt like them. I have a feeling the low version is probably softer/more cushioned. My 1080v12s might be a bit softer but less stable. But after a day of walking and breaking them in, i love them. Quality material on the upper. Cushioned, but also feels stable. Went on some hikes and I love it. More comfortable and lighter than a hiking/winter boot, which is what I got them for. Put in some Superfeet insoles and they feel great

Dont get this one. I just tested it in a mild rain and it not solid waterproof. The front part of the shoes get some water. Im totally disappointed.

The loox r skr8 fiyahhh and I luv that it has gortex too even tho as a low worn loose and even tied casually not sure therez a ton of protection in rain puddles and especially deep snow.... but then u would wear boots lol I also dig the more diesel outsole and the softer midsole.... and that they're lighter.... and wide for my flat wide swollen diabetes feet.... dope vid and review #Kixoholix413Salute

In all seriousness got my pair 1.5 weeks ago instantly best shoes I've worn at work. Usually go with adidass from the swift r3 gore tex to ultraboost 21 then 22 22 killed top of my feet so sent those back 3 weeks ago also use the terrex free hiker regular amd gore tex but been lookin for something with more cushioning than the swift r3 so got these finally and man are they awesome. I work outside in nd so walking about 7.5 to 12miles per day cuttin lawns up and down steps on pavement on gravel last Fri we got a good amt of rain off and on my feet stayed dry whole day then again on Sat but most of all these have great grip great support more cushioning 5han the swift r 3 but also supportive
