on bloating caused by sauerkraut: if this occurs with other plants in the brassica family, like broccoli, you should try a small amount of dry yellow mustard (say 1/8-1/4 teaspoon) sprinkled on just before eating (not cooked in). It's cured this problem for my wife.

@@mrmacguffin6886 I've been drinking 150ml three times a day for a year now (with breakfast, lunch and dinner). It has totally changed my gut for the better. I've even seen people stop taking medicine for constipation after 6-8 weeks on 450ml a day. And I just love drinking it.
For some reason when I drink Keffir I blow up. Makes me fat and bloated. Like I immediately notice how heavy I feel the next day after drinking Keffir. I drink the plain low-fat Lifeway brand. The “healthiest” option they sell at my grocery store.
Dr. Rhonda's is undoubtedly the best, most impressive, informative, persuasive roundup. Might plausibly recommend: a) Ginger, fermented or not, at sushi sections of markets; and, b) Unfiltered honey - Manuka, if affordable, for the gut. An aside: Went to work and Grad school simultaneously. Know the deal !
@@lawrenceweinzimerdo you have a doi for a quality study? I've seen a lot of manuka debunks, expensive scam apparently but I'm open minded to scientific evidence
A lot of times bloating is back up in the system - i’m with the Glucose Goddess on starting the meal with the fermented vegetables, but I’m also a big fan of extracting as much nutrition from yesterday‘s meal and dumping it daily! Learning food combining, and getting regular allows my system to enjoy the healthy foods :) Proportion/amount, of course matter but prepare and nurture your body into accepting the healthy foods - don’t give up because there’s a reaction! Figure out what you need to adjust to enjoy them ;) Dr Rhonda Rocks!❤
Malic acid yes been keeping that in my pre workout but not sure mechanism but studies showed MPS benefit with citruline malate via NO & as a longevity supplement, but specifically citruline to produce the arginine with no RCT for malic acid other than correlative mitochondrial ATP benefits so good to know it’s beneficial for microbiome as I do 3g a day to match the performance stats of RCTs for hypertrophy, thanks as usual dr Patrick for an amazing episode!❤️🙌
Beer contains lactic, malic and citric acids no wonder I feel good every time I drink beer a part of my daily diet. I also do kefir, kambucha and fermented veggies.
Yes! I would love to hear about that too. And about phytic acid as well in oats and nuts. I wouldn't be too concerned based on the research I did, but still want to hear her opinion.
You mentioned the "Grail" test. I believe you probably mean the Galleri test that is done by GRAIL, which is a healthcare company that Illumina (a genomics and DNA sequencing company) created, I think in order to directly develop the Galleri test. Something like that.... This is what they said about the cost of the test on their website - "The cost of the Galleri® test may vary depending on the healthcare practice or provider who orders the test. The list price for the Galleri test is $949."

What about sheep, milk yogurt I hear that’s really good… Rhonda, I wish you would do a workshop one weekend somewhere for people to come to a little retreat …🦋🕊🌹
The only thing I disagreed with was the pumpkin seeds, which are high in omega-6 fatty acids. They can induce IL-12, a proinflammatory cytokine in IBD.
I had massive gut problems for years, I went to John's Hopkins and they were clueless. I went on the carnivore diet, cut out all plant foods & supplements, and just ate red meat, a little bit of bacon, butter and water with lots of salt and guess what all of my years of misery have been resolved, my gut has healed, and all of my other health issues have reversed. This is the healthiest I've been in decades. The Carnivore diet healed me.
it was probably just one thing that was messing up your gut, not everything. So realistically the carnivore diet didn't heal anything. you just cut out that one thing
@@ezequielregueira There are a whole bunch of people that carnivore has cured a variety of illnesses. Statistically it's by far the healthiest diet over all others. Show me a list of carnivore people with health problems that were cured by adding plants. You won't, carnivore people aren't sick.

3:35 Resistant starch Have you spoken more about this? I have a few quick questions about amylose/ resistant starch. 1. Is there a general rule that you go by for the recrystallization of the amylose? Use for example rice or potatoes (type 3 resistant starch). For example using an Instant Pot with cook times. How dong does the potato have to cool to achieve X level of recrystalization. Is there any further benefit to a cooking an d cooling a potato a second time. 2. Is there any benefit to use of green bananas as opposed to plantain chips for type 2 resistant starch. 3. I have difficulty with all of this science shit. So this question is a little basic. My understanding is that sodium butyrate is in grass fed cheese and butter as well as being created being created in the large intestine from non-digestible carbohydrates such as nonstarch polysaccharides, resistant starch, and miscellaneous low-digestible saccharides. So… These are related to inhibition of class I and II histone deacetylases. Histone deacetylases regulate gene transcription thru modification of chromatin structure by deacetyaltion of proteins, including histone proteins and transcription factors. -- Is this a fancy way of saying that Buteric acid preserves DNA integrity? This gets a bit confusing with all of the science terms. 4. PGC-1 is reported to induce transformation of skeletal muscle fiber from glycolic (type II) into oxidative (type I). How can I use Amylose to more effectively make this rate of transformation happen? How can I use the rest of the nutrients mentioned today to increase this rate of transformation from type II to type skeletal muscle. 5. Can you talk about the Type 4 and type 5 resistant starches? Can I make them at home? With type 5 what does it mean to combine starches with lipids? For that matter could you give some examples of both type 4 and 5. Thank you for your contribution to my health. I just finished off the last of my Rhonda Patric Smoothies (RPS) yesterday. I appreciate you.
Broccoli sprouts for maximum sulforaphane intaket, should you eat them on an empty stomach or is it okay to take them with a meal? The same question if you take sumplement with Sulforaphane
Can't get Visbiome sachets in the UK that I can find. Can get capsules on ebay but expensive. What is a good alternative available in the UK? Edit: just discovered Visbiome is sold as Vivomixx in the UK.

Pre and Probiotics are good for Dysbiosis. Kefir and Fibers like Inulin and Psyllium Husk doing wonders. I had Dysbiosis and it went away because of that. Had silent Inflammations, high Sig A and high PH level. Kefir every day was the best decision...

I used to eat a whole lot of what Rhonda suggests. My health was okay, but I did have a little bit of bloating and gas, and was starting to have low energy. I then switched to zero grains, which helped a little. I then switched to 95% meat; no veggies and almost no fruit. What happened was the complete elimination of any gas whatsoever (zero farting and bloating), significantly less messy and less smelly feces, elimination of itchiness in that area, significantly lower arm pit odor, and bigger muscles. No drawbacks whatsoever - ie plenty of energy etc. I am not convinced fiber and plant compounds need to be directly consumed by humans for optimal health. Mine and others' results on consuming mostly or entirely meat is the anecdotal evidence that is quite convincing to me. Also, humans naturally have as high stomach acid as most carnivorous animals (stomach acid is crucial for meat consumption, not so much for plant consumption).
@@jays7318 your muscles are less full from a lack of glycogen Don’t get me wrong I grew a bit on keto too but the lack of insulin = less active anabolic hormones + the extra cortisol = slightly more muscle breakdown + the lack of glycogen = less muscle fullness It’s not optimized for muscle growth, unless your body is just somehow vastly different when it comes to insulin or something😂 but it’s probably not
@@jonathonkibble8792 Your body can make glycogen. It cannot make the seven essential amino acids (essential proteins). My glycogen stores are fine and I have more energy without consuming carbohydrates. Protein builds muscle and other tissue, not carbohydrates. Using fat as a primary energy source works great for me. I have strength and muscle gains with less effort for the past 2 years while eating primarily meat, and I have been lifting weights for over 30 years
@@jays7318 bodybuilders inject insulin because it’s anabolic lol you’d get more gains with more anabolic hormones around, there’s no way around that As for the glycogen yeah you get that back after so many weeks (months?) of strict ketosis but nonetheless I feel better without carbs too but you’re not getting more gains with less anabolic hormones in your system lol
Everyone has this pedestrian advice, just about all the food listed has oxalates, lectins, phytic acid, tannins, etc, etc. They always tell you everything great about the food, and then leave out the bad. Not to mention, all the harmful chemicals these foods have from the farm, plus phthalates and BPA from processing and packaging. These healthtubers don't really know anything special
