There were a lot of truly great horror films that came out in 2017, giving filmgoers plenty of chilling movies to choose from when they went to the theaters. Andy Muschietti's adaptation of It is one of the most beloved Stephen King films in years, and Jordan Peele’s Get Out even got serious awards buzz, but there might be some movies that even dedicated horror fans missed out on.

MB E1 Since when was a horror and thriller the same thing? A horror is intended to scare or maybe to get you jump out your seat, a thriller however is completely different that are made give a good twist in the narrative and/or characters involved it often takes a while to kick but when it happens it can definitely be effective. Granted it's not a massive difference in the two but at least it's a noticeable difference, but I can see where you got confused.

the scary thing=nobody knows who the killer is and that i actually live so close to the lake, where it happened.. the place itself is kinda weird actually, cause there are like small cabins that are locked and same goes to the bathrooms..

I liked it, initially disappointed by the ending but then on second watch realised how the director had put a lot of depth and meaning in there. Not everyone's cup of tea tho for sure.

Get out sucked. I hate when people confuse suspense/drama with horror. Just like the walking dead...its not horror, its a soap opera with zombies. C'mon now. Well that makes sense, but my 17 year old grandson watched it at the theater, now he has an excuse to be afraid of the dentist, thanks to that film. And I thought it was garbage cause I don't believe in horror films like that. Still scary and innovative though till the end.

While it was beautifully shot and did a decent job in trying to build atmosphere, it story was too predictable and lackluster to be really enjoyable. Not helping is the fact that it isn't a new story, but one told many times before. Combine this with unneccessary slow pacing and poor use of elements of insanity, made it a rather dull experience.

The grandpa was sick and git the dog sick which got the son sick. So he is badically infected through the whole movie, the sleep walking and tge nighymares were the symptoms. Also the dog barking at nothing was do to the sickness and killing itself. The otyer family was clean

Fear and paranoia everything that goes wrong is basically down to the two dad's and their flawed ways of trying to protect their families based on the fear and paranoia of the situation. You don't see a monster jump out and shout "oogie boogie!!!" At the camera because it's YOUR fear that is the focus of the movie.
