We had great fun choosing our Top 5 here…so much so we’ll definitely be creating more videos covering All Supercars including non-production and modified cars because the insane sound of these cars has to be captured in a collection video. Do you agree with our Top 5?...Would you change any of them around?
I watched this video 3 times already. I recon Maserati Granturismo is also one of the best sounding car but then it shares the same engine as the 458 "minus the cross plane" to make the Mazi deeper and muscular . Also very interesting you excluded all V10s, such as R8 Huracan, and Pre-LP/LP Gallardos. Aventadors are also missing. AMGs are also honorable mentions, especially those Pagani V12 engines, or just the general boiling water sound V8s.
All valid points, However cross plane crank engines just don’t sound as good or as exotic as the flat plane highly strung naturally aspirated stuff. I’ve driven a few huracans and the problem is the sound is over engineered and the pops and crackles after lifting is just comical, unnecessary and after a while very annoying. Also did consider the likes of the zonda, carrera GT etc however they are both muted and seem slightly muffled from stock compared to the rest of the cars on this list, nevertheless great sounding though.
