they could've split this product into 2 different sets (like the way they did in some festival collection in the past) 12 clans for each sets, and it'll still be overkill with the amount of cards per box
They could've split it even further, split it to 12 clans each sets, separate the P and V one, and it's still not that worth it considering previous clan collection has like 4 clans and 7 per pack.
@Haven The V Clan Collection sets were fine. Every box had 1 copy of each card from the set. You buy 4 boxes and you have a playset of every card in the set. That's the best pull rate for any product Vanguard has ever had.
@@GR8NE55 Yeah exactly, considering we had this great pull rate before in V Clan Collection, seeing the P&V pull rate is beyond pathetic as it's not even worth a discounted rate.
It amazes me that the SP rates are so low when sets like the V clan collections have 1 per box and these SPs have exclusive art (except Jet and Lauris I suppose) and may as well be the only thing worth buying into the set for, especially considering it didn't even reprint strides, which is where the prices of Premium decks tend to spike hard. If EN doesn't up the SP rate dramatically then supply of them will be basically nonexistent, nobody is going to buy boxes of this set when you only have a 2/15 chance of getting something that's worth anything.
This seems like the perfect set for a shop to open a few boxes or a case of for RU-vid and then stock their singles with options for people to start getting into Premium. This set is comically large, but for a big ol pack of reprints, it seems really good overall. Everything being common sucks for people wanting to bling everything out, but the common versions is just like Konami does it, so be careful what you wish for, right? You want reprints? Here's reprints.
I would like to add an addendum to my comment. I worry sometimes that we look at how JP does things and how ENG does things and how Korea does things and there's all these comparisons, yet we treat Bushiroad like it's one entity. They clearly regional for a reason. Idk how much influence Kidani has over all of it or if it's like territorial by design, but it seems like the West always does ratios differently because they're a little less random than JP, but there's also certain things that JP does different or better than the West. I'm not sure what the answers for everything would be but in between a Japanese set dropping and the English version coming out, what do we do in the meantime? Do we blow up the comments with disappointment? Do we email the company to inquire about something that may have different intentions between June and August? What's the best play for us as fans and players and the company's leading clientele?
Honestly if I had the choice between festival booster and history collection, I'd go with the festival booster because of how relevant standard is in tcg
It's really surprising that they made all the chosen strides (1 per nation) to be not just to be can use skill even not hit, but that Stride ACT skill *"You can Stride it during Main Phase"* if you meet the certain condition *_even if your opponent is on GRADE 2_* . That is too good for Stride mechanic
It solves the problem of grade 2 ride down decks in Premium. It also incentivises using the old on stride cards which is cool. Almost all cards in Premium are from V era because of the massive power creep the game experienced. I would have preferred if they worked with the generic name of the on stride (for example Rising for flash Bruce shown in the video) so all versions could have been used and not just the first iteration. It would’ve been nice to see old G decks back in action and competitive. Another option would have been to let any card with no imaginary gift to enable this superior stride skill and possibly see D boss units in Premium (could be abused by chaos breaker though).
For the most part, I think that Oracle Think Tank needed this GB push (Having to be GB2 on turn 3 when going first) makes the Prem. Coll. 2022 stride plus like crazy because every G-Guard also increases the number of cards that'll be checked by it. And from its skill, more triggers = more cards that go into hand.
While Dragon King on second stride isn't "bad" it's not very good either, because at that point you could instead be drawing and guard restricting with Ichikishima, getting triggers with Dragon King doesn't matter if your opponent is just going to guard them all.
From Yuyutei, the V cards are really cheap and it helps players build or enter V series with cheap VRs, Draw PGs…but premium wise, this set is a nightmare. A compulsory ¥4000 Harmonics Messiah per player? Count me out!

If i am getting this right, this set made some old cards really expensive, didnt reprint enough of them, and now we are going to have more expensive chase cards.
Damn, didnt even pull a VR reprint out of the box. Yea this set is too bloated to be a 3 card per pack set. If this was a clan collection style pack it would have been way better
People frequently claim Japan doesn't actually play Premium. How true IS that, exactly? I'm sure this set is selling fine, so why didn't they do something like this sooner?
also if I may complain a little, Bushiroad is so inconsistent with if they want to update the syntax of old cards or not. The Revival Collection vol 2 reprints use G-Era Syntax with the new symbols. The Revival Selection reprints don't update any text AT ALL. If History Collection doesn't use modern card syntax in English I'm gonna eat something.
The only regularly run Premium tournaments are run on like a quarterly basis. Used to be monthly but it has died off. The great majority would rather just play standard. So yes, they dont really play premium at all.
As someone that lives here I can go into it a lot more in a separate video of its own - people do play it, but it's not officially supported to motivate the average player to care about it. Therefore the community is rather small.
Why does Vanguard have such a weird aversion to reprints? It's like everytime they try, they manage to self Sabatoge themselves. Anyway, I'm hoping EN gives us more holo cards. The idea of VR reprints not being holo is weird. Same with the Striders.
The contents honestly feel like a scam. 2/3 RRR maybe? This feels like a product where you'd put 7 cards in a pack at least. Give players their common reprints.
It’s a shame that Golds didn’t get Blonde Ezel but Zero alt art for Fenrir and Gurguit kinda of save it for me hopefully the pull rates in English are better
I like that they reprinted/eratted older cards but $30 for that and not even guarinteed an SP not worth it Lets hope they change it up for the English release
Ok guys, but with all due respect. How are you not prepared for pull rates to be bad at this point. It’s a little ridiculous to not have a well thought out plan for the common Bushi miss when playing this game.
This is such a garbage set. I'm sorry but questionable doesn't cover it. I was one of the people who was coping with this set. I kept thinking that the large common pool would be fine as long as the RRRs & RRs were high quality. But honestly theres like, 3 maybe 4 clans that win with the reprints here. The ENG Ver is slightly different. About 10ish of the commons are different but none boost this set. The pull rates is one of the most laugable things I've ever seen. My lowest Expectation was 3 RRRs and somehow Bushi beat it with only 2 RRRs. Remember Premium Collections? Those are all foil sets of 3 cards a pack and you get 3 SRs a Box & every pack has a RRR/SR in it with 2 RRs. 4 SPs in 30 boxes is crazy as well. I know I probably sound really really harsh here but honestly this set is such a cool idea but the exicution of it has been the worst I've ever seen in Cardfight Vanguard.
@@chaserseven2886 Yeah though not a lot of changes. I think 10ish? Noteworthy ones are Granblue reprints that were in the Premium Battle Set have been subbed out for 4 other cards. Coral Assault isn't in the ENG version either instead we're getting the Battle Siren PR reprinted. OTT don;t get Amaterasu GGuard, instead ENG get Lozenge G-Filp GGuard. And a few other changes
