These Are The Only Rap Albums EVER To Go Diamond #eminem #laurynhill #outkast #2pac my OTHER social media ➤ / iamtherealjn / iamtherealjn I stream here sometimes ➤ / realjn
For anyone wondering why more modern artists like drake or juice wrld aren't on here, its because physical copies of an album sold are way more important than streams in terms of an album going diamond. Thats why these are all albums from before the age of streaming. Edit: y'all need to chill, I just said these guys cause they popular 😭
@@ScarredCore1dont hate on people because you dont like them. I dont think the new music is great either but if a majority does than they are good rappers.
This is peak Eminem fan behaviour, knowing so little about hip hop that you didn't notice the reference to one of the highest selling hip hop albums ever
@@SuperNuclearUnicorn Bruh people can like Eminem without knowing every single thing about hip hop and rap. It's not required that we need to know that.
The fact that Eminem had 3 is crazy lmaoo Edit: damn thanks for the likes. Wasnt expecting that. Edit: wasn't expecting to start a war in the comments lol
@@gageclouted4022He didn't say nothing wrong. Eminem had more time to grow his name and brand. Not denying that 2pac was and still is one of the most commerically successful rapper that has ever lived.
That Hammer album was not only the first hip hop album to go Diamond, it was released in 1990 and the Diamond certification was one year later, unlike everyone else on this list. I hated the album at the time but could not deny it was a monster!
And actually recovery by eminem is also about to become diamond and if you are wondering, yes in worldwide sales eminem's album has more sales then outkast
For me the most impressive, in my opinion, is from MC Hammer. The Internet and Email were in their infancies. Almost everyone had to either hear music on radio or have a friend tell them! People had to travel to a store to buy everything. MC Hammer did it in about a year! I was at a concert of his and it was super crazy! So happy I got to experience him in person! :)
@@flickdabosswhat DOOM even influenced? Outside of few guys like Tyler the Creator there was not much impact, I would agree abkut Kendrick, he is greatest of his generation for sure, but DOOM was too underground to be considered the GOAT
March 1991, the album was closing in on 10.5 million units worldwide, just six months of been released.[45] To the Extreme was the best selling hip hop album up until that time. "Ice Ice Baby" has been credited for helping diversify hip hop by introducing it to a mainstream, white audience.[46]
MC hammer basically brought rap music into the mainstream, the first ever song that was considered a rap song to be nominated for a Grammy was ‘can’t touch this’, and that’s why his album sold like hot cakes
@shitizpandey2051 he won it for Parent Just Don't Understand....but either way WHAT people don't consider either of those songs "rap music"???? That's ridiculous and flat out false for anyone to suggest. Not saying you are but whoever
Remember that for double albums it counts by discs sold and not copies. For example biggies life after death only sold 5.5 M copies but was certified 11x Platinum
The outkast slander has to stop. Speaker Speakerboxx is classic and has more replay ability than Love below. This is coming from the biggest Outkast fan you'll find on the internet
All talented artists, but M.C. Hammer's "Please Hammer, Don't Hurt Em" went Diamond in 15 months. To put that in perspective, The Notorious B.I.G. "Life After Death", the next fastest, took almost 3 years. Some took over a decade to reach diamond. That's why I say Hammer in 90' may have been rap's biggest superstar ever.
All Eyez On Me was a double album. Double albums count as one record each if they are part of the vinyl era (1948 - late 1970’s or early 1980’s), or if they are 100 minutes over in length. All Eyez On Me is 132 minutes long, so thus, All Eyez On Me sold 5 Million. So kids, make a double album on vinyl, and get some money fool!
this one only counts sales/streams in the USA, bc that's the only country the RIAA operates in, and the RIAA is who certifies albums as platinum/diamond
The three double albums that are on this list make it even more impressive that they are diamond. I remember shelling out 26 bucks for All Eyez on Me back in 95. That was a lot of money back then, and it's really equivalent to selling 20 million copies if you think about it.
The culture has spoken!! Representing The East Coast, The Dirty South, The Mid West & WEST COAST💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💿. Sad that Lauren, Tupac, Biggie had serious financial problems. The executives in the music industry are evil 😈. There’s no way, back then, if an album sold 10 million copies at $13.99, should ANYBODY have financial problems. That’s $139 million dollars!!!! TF
