Hi Simon, another great ballad by Otis! Many thanks, I had no idea what chord Steve Cropper was playing before moving on to G minor in the bridge. By the way I really like the version in the “Live in Europe” album as well. Maybe Steve Cropper was the only guitar player in the band for the tour and he didn’t play the mandolin-like part, but he played a good fills!
Hey Susumu, thanks! I'm glad that the lesson helped. I love that Live in Europe album. For me the best side is the Live in Paris side. Maybe I'll do a video on Steve Cropper style fills in the future. All the best, Simon ps if you'd like to support the channel you can do that at patreon.com/simonmorel

Hi, if you can point me to the timestamp in the video that I play this particular f chord that would help. It looks like in the intro I'm playing an f major at the eighth fret as an a-shaped barre chord. Hope that helps. Cheers, Simon

What the hell, Why don’t you slow down just a TAD , and.......and don’t change the view of the camera when you’re starting to teach, your switching to an F from a B right, But when you switch, so does the view of your camera and the positioning of your fingers, I mean it sounds great, it really does but that F chord your playing confuses me right off the bat. The only chord I’m not sure how to play, lol. Anyway, sounds great , I just wanted to mention that. I don’t mean any disrespect at all,
Please watch the beginning of the video if you’re not sure what I mean, i tried watching it again and I just don’t know what your doing there. I don’t know how to play that F . I’ll try find how to play and come back to your lesson
@@amateurstrummers Hi there, sorry you are having trouble with barre chords. There's only so slow I can go before people would switch off! If you look at 0:56 the F is pretty clear. There are basically E and A shape barre chords in the lesson, maybe learn those first and it will be pretty straight-forward. Good luck
The F he is playing is based on A chord (0 0 2 2 2 0) but slid up to the 10th fret as a bar chord. So it becomes F as (8 8 10 10 10 8). He is essentially playing the '222' part of the A chord at 10 10 10 with ONLY his pinky, and barring the 8th fret with his index finger. (I personally use my fore finger instead of pinky). Further, he is not plucking the base string (6th) so he doesn't bother reaching his index finger to the 6th string. It's ultimately (X 8 10 10 10 8). Similarily, Eflat is 2 semitones down, but exactly the same shape (X 6 8 8 8 6). The tricky part is curving your pinky so it doesn't play the first string, but only the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Again, I use my forefinger because I find that easier to curve and not touch the high string. Good luck!
Also if you're a visual learner, search 'how to play barred chords' on youtube, and you can slow down the speed of any youtube video by pressing the Gear icon and switching to 0.5 or 0.75 speed.
