These BUFFED Weapons Feel AMAZING 

I love how the ink vac could've been buffed like "oh you can choose when to go into shooting mode" or "oh the suction radius is much larger" but they just went "oh you can launch a nuke thats half the width of hammerhead bridge"

Imagine fighting an enemy inside a field of chumps, blocking for your chumps with your brella, so basically there's just a timer on the fight until they die, so they have to either shred your shield, focus on the chumps and die to you, or run

Painbrush feels like it finally removed its weighted clothes and can actually fight now , i always consumed my ink so fast i was caught up inkless too many times now with 1 main weapon ink it s combfortable enough , i really look foward to an alternate kit !

this patch has honestly been the second best one to date (besides 3.1.0) the buffs feel noticeable and good for the game. very happy with how theyve been balancing this game

Bow feels like it can kill things with a good level of consistency now and I love it. Hitting 2 directs + 1 indirect kills, which is so much easier and while its not guaranteed, I've still been getting far more picks than I did pre-patch. Also the strafe speed buff is hella underrated. Saves a lot of space you would use on runspeed, which is great for a weapon that usually only has 1 main slot available.

gotta love that one guy in chat saying "super chump is still bad. You just gotta not go where it is" As if getting people to avoid a place isn't a big part of the point of many specials. Some people really just can't think about anything except "kill things immediately"

That realization that playing like the characters in the splatoon manga is actually effective.

4:10 Holy moly. That Ink Vac radius buff looked really insane. Like, that's REALLY big.

The size of a Vacuum shot is absolutely insane now, if they buff the special to make it reliable at getting its shot off it would actually be VERY scary

Ok but buffing bubbler to fully paint inside of its area would be really good because then enemies wouldn't be able to just run inside and kill you (I am a Squiffer player)

Fun fact about super chumps: if you activate it, but wait to deployed them till the last second, you can farm another one almost immediately after they deploy

We were all hesitant on this patch cause of the shot and nzap buff (and mini nerf???) but it was secretly a banger.

2:40 I was the poor Painbrush that couldn't do anything that match. I actually laughed when I saw what you guys were running and knew we weren't winning that game. GGs though, looking forward to seeing you out there again sometime!

Day 1 of asking Prochara for his opinion on the changes I would make to Big Bubbler. One problem Big Bubbler has that I would change is how many frames it takes to activate it. See, unlike other specials, Bubbler doesn't cancel the shooting of your main weapon to deploy. This means that if you're shooting, you have to go through all of those frames, and then it gives you the option to try and deploy it, then you have to go through the Bubbler's initial start up frames. If you're trying to set it up in front of your team and you don't have the high ground, you're usually dead by this time. It's not much of an opportunist kind of special weapon because of this. So I would first get rid of this. Another change I would make is changing how Kraken Royale's attacks interact with Big Bubbler's shield. Kraken has three attacks: the charge dash, the jump, and the parry. All three do damage to the Bubbler when they hit its shield. That is not the problem. The problem is that these attacks go straight through the shield, not even blocking the attack for the it's team. My solution for this is to give Kraken roller properties when interacting with Big Bubbler's shield. If any of Kraken's attacks hit the Bubbler's shield's hit box at all, it gets knocked back. Kraken can still swim through the shield and attack, it just can't charge through without getting knocked back. Let's say the distance of two and a half players. The last thing I would change would be nerfing how much damage most shooters, most splatlings, and most dualies do to the shield without object shredder. This is because most of the weapons in these three weapon classes have a very efficient special output. So if I am using either of the Splashes, either of the Splattershots, or a Ballpoint, and I see the enemy set up a Big Bubbler, I'm gonna use my Crab Tank, I'm gonna use my Trizooka, I'm gonna use my Tristrike, I am going to use my Inkjet to deny the enemy the ability to set up an attack around the Bubbler. That's assuming I am the one to deal with it. If I got something like a Tri-Stringer or a Stamper on my team, I am just gonna let them deal with it. So, in other words, some of the strongest weapon classes already got enough going for them where they don't need to be too amazing against Big Bubbler. I might also give this same nerf to Splatana Wiper. This would be enough of a change for now.

7:21 for some context I got Splatoon 3 in the spring time and loved weapons like the range blaster and splatana stamper. and then I discovered Prochara and liked him, because he mainly played those two weapons (i’ve had some pretty good information and good takes). And then when sizzle season I didn’t really care either way for the pain brush because I wasn’t a brush fan but I picked up the paintbrush in early July (pre patch note) and I loved it to see pro Chara have the exact same reaction as me when I tried the pain brush it’s amazing

I've been playing Painbrush a lot more since this patch, and I'm honestly having a ton of fun with it. You can really feel the buff the weapon got, it doesn't seem like I have to be super careful with how I use my ink anymore and it honestly feels amazing.

Oh on this exact rotation and mode I got an all-chumps team in solo queue and we won through the power of me shouting SYNCHRONIZED CHUMPING whenever we set off our specials at the same time and also by the power of they had a disconnect.

I was actually quite shocked when I played after the update and managed to get splats with chump, it isn't quite as broken as I thought it would be for splat zones, but works quite well, especially when combined with other specials (Booyah, tristrike and wave breaker work the best from my experience, since the chump decoys bait the other team into being targets of other specials or something like a booyah bomb keeps them from shooting the decoys as much, so chump can help to capture the zone) or if you (or others) toss an autobomb into the chaos... so if the special or my teammates don't get them, the autobomb has a fair chance of securing a pick.

I died via a super chump for what felt like the first time since I usually ignore them, and I definitely did a "surprise pikachu face," Glad you posted a positive video :D it's nice to hear when Splatoon 3 updates get some things right.

Tbh when the patch came the first thing i did was use painbrush and it was so much nicer with the better ink efficiency

I think Chump Meta is way funnier than Crab Meta, which automatically makes it 200% better.

Angle shooter actually feels like it does something when you hit with it now, but it's still the worst sub weapon for Jet Squelcher. Hitting behind cover or under ledges is already a weak spot for Jet with its range, and instead of helping with that weakness, instead Angle Shooter doubles down on Jet's strengths to an unnecessary degree. It ruins what would otherwise be a fun kit for me (because I do enjoy Ink Vac), and I still hate Angle Shooter because of that.

I feel like chump could’ve been cool if you could jump inside the radius to use it as a sort of “they can’t shoot all of them” thing.

I say this a lot but I truly think tri-stringer getting gradually buffed will eventually hit a boiling point. It's already a really solid option with a special that works really well for it, and honestly, after seeing how the kgal was slowly buffed in 2 until one final buff made people notice it and it became meta, I think that tri stringer is working towards that same event horizon, albeit much more healthy for the game. I mean, it already has highest object damage for its range, especially when you factor in hitting over walls, meaning it's the ultimate wave counter, kills bubble faster than anything else (isn't important right now but if bubble becomes really strong and broken at some point it'd be a really strong counter), it has the playstyle of something like a heavy where it plays backline but also needs to be able to flex onto an aggro midliner at moments notice, and it just is one of the best area control and zoning weapons in the game. If you have a tri stringer on high ground, it can hold a line better than any other weapon. it holds a line like it is No Man's Land out there.

Super chump is literally the best special in the game and probably the best special in all of splatoon and no splatoon game in the future will ever be better than super chump
