@@MarioMastarshe was summoned during Dartz’s turn who then got a second attack from Impact Revive. He blocked the attack and ended the battle phase. On his turn he did the infinite legendary knight combo and won. Dartz’s only means of removal at that point was the battle phase. She survived maybe 75% of a turn

Yeah, I would have reworded the card to only be activated when your life points hits 0. Technically you would and should have lost the duel, but if this card is already set on the field or a card is activated that allows you to play traps from your hand when you lose life points, then this card will be able to extend the duel.

@@brendanboomhour7606 Right? I would also add additional affects that would prevent this trap card from being removed from the field, whether destroyed, returned, sent or banished. And to be fair, I would have this card negate any affects that the monster has and if the monster is removed from the field, the user loses. So this card wouldn't protect against, destruction, bounced back to hand, banished or sent. I think that's fair because this card makes it so life points for you no longer matters. If you were to play a card to gain life points back, it wouldn't matter because now you are bound to the rules of that trap card. If that monster is removed from the field, you lose.

​@@segastars9802I honestly think negating the card's effects is overkill. Having to be able to special summon it with Relay Soul already blocks off the Nomi or Extra Deck monsters who would be truly difficult to try to destroy; if they happen to be able to target a monster with some form of protection, that's hardly broken.

Yeah but more often than not, it's gonna be you controlling the limbs. Unless there's a easy way to give your opponent 5 monstera which I doubt.

I think I have an idea on how to do this combo: Summon Treasure panda, use double summon (spell) to normal summon True Exodia, use Shien's Spy on True Exodia, then get any 2 other spell cards in the GY (Mostly cards like Reload and Magical Mallet to put the pieces back into deck). Profit. ...and I just realize only True Exodia and his limbs must be the ONLY monsters on the field.

@@MySelfTheThird-ft8fo I don't play YGO so I had to look up these cards, but Last Turn says that is sends both players' hands to the graveyard. So how are you able to discard to use Jowgen's ability?

@@Matthias129 jowgen has 2 effects. One is applied as soon as he's on the field and the other one you have to manually activate it. From the moment jowgen hits the field , there is nothing that can be special summoned afterward thus putting the opponent in a litteral no win situation because they cant summon anything.

Last Turn is banned.

@@9justgaming since Obelisk was special summoned by Relay Soul, it was removed from the field and sent to the graveyard on the End Phase, causing a loss by Relay Soul's effect.

@@jrgamer8677 ah thanks for the info . I went and re read the card text . I thought its effect was cannot be special summoned yada yada but this card can be special summon just deleted it’s self after the fact

"Well it has to be "Face up on the field" so if it's an overlay unit, you'll just take damage like regular, but you won't lose the duel. I think it just shuts off the effect, but I'm not sure how the modern games program it.

I'd like to see some modern decks balanced around "If you fail or mess up, you lose the duel" to really add some serious much needed risk. Like imagine a Nibiru that "If your opponent summons more than 6 monsters, they automatically lose the duel" I know that sounds crazy, but it may be necessary to seriously lower the power level. Just effects like "If your opponent activates the same effect more than 3 times in one turn, they lose the duel." to slow down "once per turn" looping a bit. I dunno. I'd like to see them play with that to make trap cards viable again.

I loved using it on my older brother back in the say. A shame its not in Master duel

call it Last Draw, and you draw 5, but lose the game at end turn, and would need to be played while you control no cards, to prevent degeneracy

Monsters used for xyz summons are treated as them leaving the field. Relay soul triggers upon special summoned monsters being used as xyz matterial

Yeah in the show it can be activated when your Lifepoints drop to 0 and you can't lose the game as long as the monster remains on the field. That way it makes sense. But the way it is in the real game it's just a really really shitty special summoning

But its a weird way to XYZ summon since that monster is not leaving the field. But since its no longer face up, the effect is no longer applied though.

Which is awful, because owning a “last resort” card is just taking the spot of another card that could also fix whatever bind that was without the drawback

Is there any main deck monster with "uneffected by other card effect" that can be special summon? If u can special summon uneffected monster with relay soul, u can stall as long ur enemy dont have kaiju or underworld goddess

FLIP effects of "Fairy Tail - Sleeper" and "Apprentice Piper" can do the same without the dangerous lingering risk like that of "Relay Soul".

Would be allot more viable if it didn’t have that dumb stipulation that no other monsters can be on the field. Regular exodia doesn’t care, true shouldn’t either. It’s just as hard to get 4 forbidden ones and a true as it is to get 5 forbidden ones.

Same, board clear is just way too easy in modern YGO, and even back in the old days True Exodia would be way too slow to actually use

there are too many cards that can easily play around your little setup. ra sphere mode, lava golem, possibly nibiru any kaiju, underworld goddess of the closed world super poly (with mudragon of the swamp or starving venom fusion dragon for example) geonator transverser (does this work?) a ton of decks play at least one of those outs and then you're screwed

@@mrnoneofurbusiness7942 lava golem and kaijus do work however I know super poly does not work, it's very specifically for tribute summon mechanics no card effects work. I'm not familiar with the other cards you mentioned but I've also never played anyone using them before either. The combos problem isn't that there's counters because I've only had 2 people every break the combo once it's played, the problem is it's way too slow. But I've been out of the loop for a few years so maybe there are new cards that can make the combo faster

are you sure super poly doesnt work? the tribute is still a game mechanic and therefore you can use anything? you can get rid of ultimate falcon and stuff like that with tributes. should work here, too. or maybe i'm missing something

@@mrnoneofurbusiness7942 well the YGO pro game or what ever the current version is somebody played super poly and it didn't remove my standoffed monsters from the field I guess I would have to replicate the play and make sure it doesn't work because maybe they just didn't have a super poly target that could use my monsters. But with how the game was going and the brief pause after they played it made me believe they thought they could super poly with my monsters and when the option they wanted wasn't available they had to pick another option. From the testing I did do only card effects that tribute as part of their own summoning conditions worked.

You forgot " Ever" right after the last "Name", and it was "Market Research" not "Research And Development Team" and "Shows" instead of "Found Out", but otherwise not bad on recalling the full card name. Oh, also there was no hyphen. The flavour text was "Just call it OMRSOPLRLCNSWMTCTHTALCNEE for short."

I will say this is one of those points where Magic and YGO differ heavily because there are a decent number of cards that reference winning or losing the game and even a decent amount that specifically make that happen. There are for instance a cycle of five instant cards that all cost nothing to play but will lose you the game if you don't pay a certain cost on your upkeep/standby equivalent. There are as of now five different cards that let you take an extra turn and you lose the game at the end of it (two are identical in fact and one is those two but better for being an instant). There are a number of other cards that cause you to lose the game either through conditions or as a delayed effect for playing the card. One of the sillier examples is a card called Phage the Untouchable that will cause you to lose the game if you didn't cast it from your hand (meaning if you try to cheat it out in literally any other way) but it also makes players who get hit by it lose the game.

The card as printed states so long as the monster is on your side of the field you take no damage. I’m struggling to see how that is different from what you described. If you play this while you have any LP, you can’t die until the monster does per the card text. You can’t play the card while already at 0LP… because you can’t play any cards ( that I know of) while at 0LP. 0LP is the end of game no more turns.
