I think the reason the new black series Phase 1 helmet looks like how it is is because, in the Ahsoka series with the flashbacks of the Clone Wars, the clone Phase 1 helmet is a combination of Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars
Funko also named their 501st clone a Lieutenant… I think this is a script-type situation where they just called those clones with blue markings Lieutenants to distinguish the costume and not as an actual canonical truth. But since they make these toys so fast, they just went straight to the concepts directly 1:1 (and early concept art based toys aren’t anything new for toys and especially Star Wars). It isn’t a big deal but it is definitely frustrating to the nerds like us.
during the time it was set in the clones of the 501st disnt all paint there armour yet you can see it in the clone wars movie the ones painted are sergeants / liuetenats
@@HeadHunterKillCounts I think it remember reading that part of the lore with the few blue 501st clones early on being sergeants and Lieutenant on Wookieepedia but I can’t remember if it was JUST legends or not
I mean, on a technicality this phase 1 trooper COULD be a lieutenant because these markings were used by veteran troopers and officers within the 501st, but in this case it's definitely just a mess up with the naming on Hasbro's part.
A basic blue Arc trooper is needed Vintage Collection got one but we need one and do him right. I would like to see an another two pack with both versions of phase 1 and phase 2 but give us extra heads bald would be perfect and different weapons
Surprised you didn’t compare the Phase 1 501st with the old Clone Wars version that would’ve been ironic since most modern fans these days would be like: wait there were Phase 1 501st’s prior to Ahsoka???>3
Literally the *ONLY* thing the old 332nd helmet has over the new one is the sloppier orange paint being more accurate Tis' bloody disgusting otherwise, glad they re-did him (now please give us my boy Captain Vaughn)
My guess is they named it the Lieutenant is because the 501st troopers never looked like that in phase 1. IIRC, the only ones who had blue were the named troopers, and the rest were the generic all white.
A few of the grunt P1 501st troopers did look like this in TCW but they very rarely showed up in the show. The only time I recalled that multiples of this design appeared were mainly in deleted scenes for S2 of TCW where a crap ton were shown to be preparing for an occupation of Mandalore in the arc that the Dutchess was framed
Phase 1 501st troopers with these markings appeared numerous times throughout the seasons of the Clone Wars, they were just often very hard to spot because they were background clones and the blue was often very faded. They appeared in the Clone Wars movie, Landing at Point Rain, Weapons Factory, Grievous Intrigue, Duchess of Mandalore, and deleted scenes for Duchess of Mandalore.
They're clones, of course their faces are the same? lol It's actually $5 less than if they'd be sold individually, and clones are fundamentally all just the same in different colors. I dunno what you're going on about.
@@Jcc2224 My bad, I didn't explain what I meant by the faces are the same. I mean that they could've at least had different expressions or tattoos. At my target it was $60!
It's funny that this is technically (just going by the name) Hasbro's second attempt at a Phase I lieutenant and neither of them actually look like a Phase I lieutenant lmao. The first ones colors were way too dark and this one just has the straight up wrong design.
