Thanks, thank you so much. First i was hating those guys and open source. Recently started opensource, it's been a month now, i have contributed to Aws, nodejs and several repositories, I'm really enjoying it. Thank you so much ❤, i wish i had started it before😢
Even though next13 caching is mess rn there are good numbers of companies that are transitioning to next and it will only grow with time. These are good projects ideas for uni students. Great way to showcase your skills by solving real problems.
I think the YT one is actually a good one. though Idk how to do it. But it can vanish in thin air pretty quick with a small yt update on the content creators side. If they simply restrict permissions or allow creators to customize editor permission and implement some more checks and balances.
yeah but the thing is i think a lot of products like these succeed for whatever little period until the original platform actually brings those 'small updates' which they take a loooot of time to do,so till then such small platforms amass huge base...Recently saw this with a lot of chatgpt based plugins and apps which practically disappeared after OpenAI launched their own app
There is no software business that last forever. The internet is constantly changing. If you execute on this idea, but the time RU-vid patches you out, you can have made your money and establish a good list of contacts for your next sotware project.
Regarding the first project of youtube uploads, a few years back I remember doing an almost similar project for a tutor wherein his team of editors edited the video and put the video in RAW export and final file on Google Drive (Premium subscription he had taken). Then through an Android App, we orchestrated upload to youtube. He used it well for over 2 years or so and after that, the app broke due to OAuth errors.
i tried this project, but the concern is youtube is making video locked whenever it is uploaded from webapplication (unverified publisher) . how you dealt with that ?. could you please provide the details.
6:51 😂😂 Thank you You're giving me a sense of accomplishment that I should feel for myself.😭. I'm a full-stack developer at a small startup, and recently, I had to add internationalization to our client's app. we have 8-hour office shifts, I completed it in 2.5 days. I went through the entire app, adding and replacing all possible strings, including static files. My TL kept pressuring me, saying it was a simple task and shouldn't take so long.
Regarding your first project: How will you approve the video based on text notification via email, Slack, or WhatsApp only? Without downloading a 1GB file, you need to check whether the video is correct or not by downloading it.
The reason platform is build is to act as a mediator to store and view the video uploaded by the editor and be published to yt once approved by the owner.
Hi Harkirat, thanks for the ideas. I am a backend developer with 15 yrs of exp. I saw ur videos on remote jobs n freelancing n looks like - its more for a full stack or front end or kind MERN stack based projects/work is in small companies/products. Can you please share something on this? Like remote jobs as a backend developer in mid size or large companies.
I feel i18 just like a global state for multiple languages, you have to provide the translation, yes GitHub copilot will help you for translation but , it seems like worthless.
Yes, but with bigger codebases/websites especially with a lot of dynamic content using these libraries likely takes a month or two for a developer or a team to completely implement it and fix all the possible breaking changes and edge cases. And a company likely don't want their developer's time to be spent on this task than focusing on the main product development. A service or developer on contract providing this service could be cheaper and efficient.
About second idea didn't know it was that big a problem i have solved it many times by just adding language json files so in future if you want to add a new language just create new json for that app
You spend 6 months building a middle layer between editor and youtube. You spent a good amount of money in setting up the server on cloud. Few days later... Le RU-vid: We are announcing an approval feature. 😂
I have already built RU-vid layer one ! Working on addon feature and ai integration which would make the RU-vidrs life more simpler. Let me know if anyone would like to contribute
i have a doubt, might be stupid but in his first idea, if he's reviewing the video uploaded to the platform by the editor, doesn't he have to spend the same 2gb internet to stream it, disregarding physical space to hold the file, isn't it almost the same thing as him downloading and reviewing it??
I guess the channel owner can stream the video in an "averagely-good" quality and then can just push it to his channel, which will save him from downloading the whole 2GB file and then uploading it to the channel.
Hi Hakirat... There's one doubt about the first idea (RU-vid content posting with your approval). I assume you'd like to "Watch" the video before approving it... "Downloading" or "Viewing" a video is essential for your satisfaction. are you expecting a streaming service from the platform as well? (Uploading it to RU-vid can be done async after your approval.)
Hey Dude, nice video, just wanted to let you know that there is a light thumping sound in this video, maybe some issue with the audio setup or the mic. Worth checking out, I got distracted like 5-6 times thinking that someone was banging on the door. Cheers.
your first idea it's not long lasting. RU-vid can fix it very easily in a week. When you make someone an editor they can edit and upload your here RU-vid can add an extra layer where editor video will go live only after your approval. So I don't think it's a big idea. It is something that people should ask RU-vid and they roll it out in a few days. Maybe if someone from RU-vid finds your video and makes it happen, I will not be surprised 😅. By the way that is a good idea for RU-vid
REgarding problem one. What I understand is you are looking for someone who can develop that service and put it open source and you will steal it and use it and sell it. Moreover RU-vid can come up with this feature the next day if this project get traction and attention.
or you could remote control your pc through your mobile, so you dont have to worry about the download speed since the pc would be connected to home wifi
For uploading the videos we can use the video creators drive space. That would save the db cost and allow us to manage just the authentication and uploading part. Please correct me If i'm wrong.
I was looking for some ideas and then I found your video. Thanks for the awesome idea. I am definitely going to create a platform like you described in the frist idea. Will talk to you soon after creating this application.
I have already built it ! Working on addon feature and ai integration which would make the RU-vidrs life more simpler. Let me know if you would like to contro
For the first example... why not just make the editor upload the video in unlisted mode? If you can't trust your editor you should probably hire someone else (or pay them more 😅) Thanks for sharing ideas though
By using approval functionality In first we have to still check the video is that correct or not editor is also a human he can mistake also so the problem is same we need to download that 2 gb video
You could encode it to a lower resolution on your server, and then it would consume a lot less data and give that for review and then if you have good internet then you can view in the original quality but the point is to reduce the hassle not having the internet in not in the picture, not having 2 Gib of mobile internet is the picture.
@@yourlinuxguy How will user trust the application backend, after user gives the consent, from backend server its possible to upload any video with that auth token? Not sure if big youtuber with millions of subscriber will trust their channel with such app
you can solve the youtube video uploading problem by creating a private channel on youtube and give access of that channel to the video editor they can upload the video on that and bcz it is a private channel no one else can see that once you watch that channel you can upload the video to the channel
Because they are on mobile data, they don't want to download and reupload, this is viable only if youtube allows copy video from my one channel to other without having to download it. Otherwise this is just another way of doing what he is already doing🙂
I have tried your first idea almost 1year back at that moment the RU-vid inserting videos cost is too high and no users need to pay to us that much cost
Harkirat the thing is I have a bunch of ideas which I have faced issues and though of some solution apps which I can build, use and monetise for others. But I am just a developer and I dont know how to market it where to reach the specific customer and what about laws of our country on building a SaaS.
Maintaining multiple file in the platform is not good in my view better let them upload the video to youtube from the platform and mark it private and un published then once the approval comes then we can mark it as public Welcome your thoughts
@kirat regarding first project, if u dont download the video in the first place how will u know the video is appropraite or not, then only u will approve to send the video to yt server right ?
For the first scenario you could share via a cloud drive like dropbox and when you upload it to RU-vid, you can do that from a virtual machine in the cloud so you’re not using your own local band width? Does this help?
First idea where you want a platform for dealing with video, just imagine the cost of storage and bandwidth for up and down. now you just want to pay $50 for this per month will not be viable option! Just my thought!
About first problem, Even if I create the platform, you would be giving your approval to the video without really being able to watch it (as you said you lack on data due to your travels) , doesnt it mean the same as allowing others to upload anything they like. I mean an approval without checking the video would not really make sense, you should use native youtube feature of adding editors.
@@chirayujoshi1189 good idea, but it won't anyway guarantee that the video does not possess any content which is unwanted by the owner Which is why he wants to be able to hold the authority right
watching is fine still, but downloading and uploading is the pain point. Check my approach comment. YT API allows upload, during upload in the code, developer has to define as "private" so, editor's video goes to same channel but as private, so user can watch it and make public.
As a 1 sem engineering student I have an idea to Idea - create an application which allows us to set a time to use a particular app. After the time the app gets automatically block and will not be able to open In a day.. Eg - I as a student will be able to set a time in the application that I want to use 20 minutes Instagram daily. This will help many student around the globe and reduce their distraction.. How should I proceed with this idea?? I am open for all suggestions and guidance!!!!!
There's an app called "Digital Wellbeing" by Google which does exactly this. However, that shouldn't stop you from creating your own version. Enjoy building great products!
