Layering takes more time. I'd have to do a test to know for sure, but I think it takes at least 1 or 2 more layers compared to Prismacolor Premiere pencils . They do layer better than some of the budget-friendly brands like Kalour and Crayola (which is expected). When I traveled with them, I did notice the erasing and re-applying didnt work that well compared to using a Prismacolor Premier. Although, it could have been the coloring book I was using, so I'll have to consider more testing when I review them. I am still trying different coloring books and paper with them.
