The issue of Hardcore 1 you want is the 2nd print! 1st print had a run of just over 11k which is low but the rumored print run for the 2nd print is in the hundreds. Can anyone confirm this?
Not 100 percent but the print count is about the same as something is killing the children 1 the 6th print, about 1100 copies. The second print is red where the green is in the first Print I think.
I will confirm if I can confirm anything. 11k for an audience of a couple thousand isn't much of a spec, but a few hundred for that same audience, sign me up
I love it when a book I own shows up on this list! I just picked up Eternals 1 a month ago so it’s kind of cheating but it was a cover I’ve wanted to own for years. As soon as hype started to grow I snatched it up. I paid way more than I could have but nowhere near $350
I was just reminiscing about that Onslaught 1st appearance with my brother. I have a vivid memory of getting that comic and reading it in the car while waiting for my mom in a store and freaking out about it with (at?) my brother while we were on vacation. 😆
@@DoughnutJunkie You know, I actually went back and researched it and now I think it's up for debate. I always assumed the shadowy figure that attacks Mystique was Onslaught but looking around, it seems that was never hard confirmed to be him. But the CGC labels say "Onslaught appearance" on them so I now I don't know what to believe.
Haha...one of the first lists that I only have 1 issue in my PC. But I actually love that. There are some low cost and under appreciated books on the list. Looks great!
Infamous Iron Man 1 is still in dollar bins (I just snagged four of them at my LCS). And if Innovation's Interview with the Vampire is taking off, pretty much anything can. That series has been languishing untouched in dollar bins for twenty years or more.
Thanks, as always! This video made me curious about the number of Superman Man of Steel books that have actually been graded, so I checked the CGC census and found 43 reg version were graded and 132 for the Collector's Edition. The thing that comes to mind is: who are these people who thought sending this book to CGC was a great idea? To each their own, but I give these away to neighbourhood kids when I run across them since trying to sell them is usually futile and just takes up space in my boxes that could be used for better books.
You never really know on the first appearance of Steel. He's established - one of these days a significant enough amount of his first appearance issue has been gradually collected by collectors. It's a pretty big print run, but gradually for that 90s stuff the market is collecting and absorbing the issues into collectors hands who want them a bit. Around 2040 - 20 years from now - I expect Steel's first appearance is starting to get some value to it. Maybe not much. Maybe a bit by then. It's possibly an affordable key to buy a raw copy of and hold on to long term.

Marvel sell more unit copies each month than DC because they produce more books. If DC produced the same amount of comics as Marvel - which they are capable of doing if they chose to - they wouldn't be behind quite as much. It would be a lot closer. Marvel would probably be ahead, but not by as much. Currently DC run around 27% of unit sales for the market each month and Marvel run around 35% each month. I do think Marvel Zombies buy hot Marvel comics and flip them more than the slightly more conservative DC collector who is likely to collect to keep a little bit more than the Marvel collector. But there's not that much in it. Marvel are the hot collectors comics which dominate these top 10 charts all the time, but it's not that far back to a healthy amount of DC key issues. Marvel remains the focus of many collector investors because they 'Visibly' return well. I mean, why bother with most DC hot items as not as many talk about them? But they do sell well each month, you know. There are quite a lot of DC fans and collectors.
Marvel keys are getting far too expensive for the average buyer as well. Great if you already own the issue in NM condition, but not so great for buyers.
I have X-Men #53, so I hope that really shoots up in value. If not mistaken, I think Mark Waid wrote that issue and I have it signed by him. If I were to get that CGC'ed, would they grade and verify the signature, even though they weren't there to see it when it happened?
