This year’s OMH competition might have just been the best one that I’ve ever judged! I was constantly in awe every time I ported into a home and was greeted by some of the neatest creations that I’d ever seen! So many homes told a story or they sent me on an adventure or they had incredibly impressive cobbles! While I never have the time to visit every single finalist in these competitions, I did get the chance to visit quite a few homes to be able to gather some footage to share with you all! I hope you all enjoy the tour, and definitely check out the additional resources linked in the description for more ESO housing goodness! Thanks again to OMH for setting up one of the biggest ESO community events out there! Which homes were your faves?
I have a place that you might be interested in taking a look at, I guarantee it there is nothing like it in the game, they call it the Labyrinth it takes approximately four to six hours to beat The Labyrinth and the Labyrinth is a master InDesign, it will challenge you and every laws of physics you can think of that are in play in The Labyrinth I have not the words to describe the adventure except very challenging, so if you would be interested I would have to make arrangements with the creator of the labyrinth but I do guarantee going to the Labyrinth is well worth the trip, oh and I sub to you
Those homes were fantastic. The ones that did that really have a talent. I decided to try housing, it took me 5 min to place the Transmute station where I wanted. Want to know what I did next? I said out loud "Fck this sh!t!!" I then went back to PVP.
@@autumnatic That was presumptuous of you. I've been a solo player from 2018 until March of this year. I don't have the patience to decorate. Now if you said that was very "male" of you, I would have rolled my eyes and not bother to reply to your idiotic comment.
Arttea over here hosting "ESO Cribs" and " Lifestyles of the ESO Rich and Famous". Amazing looking homes! So far, the winter wonderland house, the Bat Cave house, and the Mario Kart house are my top 3. I can't wait to see next year's OMH and what some do with the pirate ship home.
...and, of course, a big, giant thank you to every one of the builders that submitted these beautiful, creative and truly inspiring homes for the contest and a huge thank you to OMH for making this all happen.
Nice editing and soundtrack. I'll say the homes in the mid video showed the most taste. A lot were more impressive by their setting more so than their design. Personally I'd like to see a comp of how well someone can design something like the Rosy Lion Inn.
What was really cool about the homes with nice settings is that those settings were created by the players themselves! They looked so good, they very well could have been part of a zone or something! I love how players transform their homes so much that I don’t even recognize where I am or what house I’ve ported into 😅
Wow! So much creativity and "outside the Box" thinking! Really impressive! I myself would like to do more Housing but the System is SO annoying (at least for me in Console), i loose Patience to fast and Ende Up Mist of the time with half finished Projects 😅😅😅
I feel that; ESO housing definitely calls for a huge investment of money (er, well, gold - actually, money too I guess if you buy crowns to buy homes!) and time! But IMO the outcome is always worth it
Ooooo I loved your home! It was the first one that I got a chance to visit!! The moment I ported in, I knew this year's OMH contest was gunna be crazy if THAT masterpiece was the first home that I saw
Ha !! I’m the guy in his 50’s with a female character. BUT she’s modeled after my wife as a 7’ tall HighElf. At least that’s how I perceive her 😊 We both love your videos and content. Always entertaining and informative. Your future is already bright and can only get better. 🙏 Incredible houses and creativity from the ESO community. My OCD furniture placement of lining up edges doesn’t come close. Now I have another focus to deep dive into with this game.
Haha hey nothing wrong with that! So long as you aren't tricking anyone for the sake of ERP, which I'd imagine you are not That's really sweet that you modeled your character after your wife!! Oh my goodness I also struggle to line things up when it comes to housing, which is why I often just embrace the messiness and create cluttered spaces, as opposed to the more pristine and well-aligned structures akin to the kinds of builds that are in these OMH contests! Thank you for your kind words and support!
Hi!! I'm the oldest kid of the builder of the house at 5:21, one of my sisters came rushing over in excitement when they saw it in the intro and the whole family was watching it haha. I'm really glad you liked his house and thank you for the beautiful shots of it! I think it might be one of the builds he's proudest of :D
Oh wow! That was a very beautiful home! I love how it was completely transformed to have more of a Telvanni theme to it! Thanks for sharing this with me by the way; your comment made my day
Thank you for, yet again, doing ESO and ESO Housing so much justice by showcasing the level of talent that our designers and decorators have - talent that still blows my mind to this day. We look forward to seeing your videos each time a new one drops and, while I know that I have said this before, I just have to call out your fabulous editing skills. I have seen our video editors work their magic and I can say without a doubt that you pour your heart, soul and hours upon hours into each video. Keep up the truly fantastic work, Arttea!
pffftt nothing can beat my dank, dark, resilient, sturdy and long lasting closet room in Vulkhel Guard on Auridon. I called it Clank ... closet of dank, i know it is small but it get the jobs done so well also it is strategically placed 👍
I hope your video encourages people to join housing guilds and see how crazy some builds can be. My favorite are three houses and tinny villages builds, like small models of towns and villages... Every server heave few housing guilds and they are all free to join. People are always willing to help or craft staff for other players so come and join us 😎
Oh yeah those tiny models of villages or scenes are really cool! I was only really aware of their existence because of this year’s contest! I’d also recommend joining housing discord servers if peeps are already at 5/5 guilds. Those are a great source of inspiration!
Never considered there being a competition that I could make gold from. Also don’t have anything very flashy. Mostly just very comfortable themed homes that I enjoy. Next I am hoping the boat comes back around. I would have fun with that.
The original vision for the MMO, going back to the 1980s long before the acronym was coined for Ultima Online in the '90s, was to be a narrative told by the audience. The aim was to help people discover dimensions of themselves, talents and latent abilities, denied by the demands and constraints of the physical world. And in this aspect of ESO, and perhaps the only aspect of ESO outside of PvP which is dynamic and expressive, the game succeeds. Amazingly so! *Outstanding video!*
so cozy, I felt like I was watching a kdrama trailer or the actual cinematic trailer for the game. I would play this game for sure if this was the game trailer.
im just starting to get into ESO for real and i have the starter apartment in Necrom with a cat that has a path set up to walk around the room and thats it. i think i deserve to win this contest
I love it 😻 everything so creative i'm really impressed :) My fav is Ezabi's Khafe :D sooo cute. Wish i was that talented...Could someone tell me how i do the Sign with the lettering? I would like to da a Bar or something :D Which Furnishings are used for this? Greetings
My poor and uncreative ass can never hope to achieve this. When I look at ESO and FFXIV houses, I just throw up my hands in despair. Such talented folks.
I used to feel the same way. But just started buying things here and there. Cheap little things and stored it in the free hall of the lunar champion home. 700 spots for storage lol. I'll find cheap stuff at the lux vendor or traders. Or watch zone and guild chat for freebies. Or make stuf urself. Good way to make easy money is writs on 10 characters. Or stealing and fencing it.
If u are on ps na you can check out my bakery home that won 2nd in a guilds kitchen contest. pooken_stein_81. Made or found most stuf at traders cheap or home goods furnishings vendors. I did spend about 1k crowns for small finishing touches tho, like measuring cups, rolling pens and dishes and such
I just came here to find nice lights for my home that I need for storage and basic crafting stations all in one place. Crazy how expensive this housing is. Cool but way too expensive.
For a majority of these builds, the home itself actually doesn't matter, as what you are seeing is actually entirely cobbled together by the players using structural furnishings, as stated in the beginning of the video! So you can not merely purchase what you see from the crown store!
I'm still salty about last year's contest. I submitted a house, checked the spreadsheet to see which streamer was checking it out, went to their VODs to check and they never actually viewed them on stream. I thought that was the whole point: to show off the builds so there was accountability and you knew yours was actually looked at.
Ahhh did they just so happen to miss it? There were quite a lot of streamers that were covering the contests, so maybe you could see if someone else did! Just speaking from my experience: judging all of the homes properly takes a LOOOOT of time. It takes me a while because I am framing and filming shots for this video, and I'd imagine it would take streamers a lot of time too as they interact with their chat and discuss the creations. I didn't get around to visiting all 150 finalists, for example, as I am already insanely busy balancing real-life shtuff with content creation to the point where I sleep like sub 4 hours a night I'm sure that if someone missed your home, it was for a fair reason, and they didn't mean any ill will because of it
@@Arttea This was last year so it's hard to recall but I know I looked through multiple VODs and I'm pretty sure they didn't view anyone's? I could be wrong, but I know they were logged into the game and just standing there chatting and when they did run around a house they didn't comment on it so it might have been theirs and they just kept stalling on checking out the entries.
@@fairandbright Ah I see, sorry to hear it. Hmm, that's odd that they didn't end up checking out anyone's homes at all if they indeed agree to be a judge. I guess it might be too late to check now seeing as a year has passed, but perhaps some other streamers that were judges got around to checking out your home, as there were quite a lot of them that participated!
Does ESO have that thing like we have in Fallout76 in that there's ways to place decorations in a way that they glitch into other decorations or fall into the ground a bit etc so we can achieve designs the build system wasn't meant to do?
Yeah! This practice is often referred to as “cobbling”, as you can essentially “cobble together” entirely new furnishings or structures with careful and creative placements of existing furnishings. I’m not familiar with FO76, but in ESO you can totally sink things into the ground or merge stuff together for your housing builds if you’d like.
Yeah I'm ngl, I really loved that one! It was the first home from the competition that I got a chance to visit, so when I ported in and was greeted with *that* right off the bat, I just knew that this year's entries were gonna be wild 🤯
Though I admire how much effort you have put into this video. I found it very hard to watch with all the fast camera changes. And honestly I didn't make it through the video.
Ah yeah as I mentioned at the end - my video editing style is not for everyone, and I have links to very slow-paced housing tours for this very competition in the description that you can check out!
This is a custom-made house. It was cobbled together with other ESO furnishings. But the location that this was built in is called "stillwaters retreat"
Yes, housing is clearly endgame Unless you're a low level alt-aholic like me and you keep squirriling away gold to maybe hopefully one day buy the Amaya Lake Lodge in Vvardenfell 🫢
